I ordered lunch for myself and a couple workers. Kudos for the fast service China Garden! The beef and broccoli and mu shu were good. I like that the mu shu was offered with pancakes. Not many restaurants do that. Unfortunately, the Mongolian chicken was a miss. I ordered it medium spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. On top of that, it was mostly onions. This was my first time trying this dish. Is this what Mongolian chicken is supposed to taste like? I should have stuck to an entree I had before than going outside of the box. read more

I've been seeking out a place to get fried dumplings in the Carrollwood area. Tried some other places. Not pleased at all. Well today I decided to give China Garden a try. Fried Dumplings and Egg Rolls is all I ordered. Great price was a bonus. And I am so happy to say that I have found my local Fried Dumplings place. They are delicious. Seriously. Our office likes to order lunch from here as the food is fresh and delicious. They have a choice of soup or egg roll and we like to get the chicken egg drop soup. They also have won ton, but the egg drop is better.The chicken with broccoli and the beef lo mein with extra beef are regular orders as is the shrimp in lobster sauce. I cant remember the other favorites. We each get the package of the crispy noodles that comes with the meal. It is closed on Tuesdays. read more

I got the pepper steak and also crab Rangoon. I have eaten here since 2006. Owners have def changed. The crab Rangoon was flat (barely any filling) and the pepper steak had no flavor. I'm sad to say I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

I ordered take out after a long day of work. The food came quickly and it was still hot! I ordered a large sesame seed chicken the spice was great. I also ordered the crab meat wanton. They were crisp and generously filled. ( the sauce for dipping was different than your average sweet and sour sauce it had a tiny bit of a spice to it that I couldn't figure out... it didn't have a kick just a warm Smokey taste in the sweet and sour. ) We ordered the shrimp rolls as well, they were fantastic. read more

I have been hesitant to come here based on some of the reviews. But I have really been craving some of the everyday Chinese (Chinese American) classics that I have learned to love. I have several other restaurants that I go to often... but have been trying to find a good take out place real close to home. This place is the closest. So I tried them! Walked in the door, and got smiles... like they were happy to see me. I did greet them in Mandarin, which always gets a pleasant and surprised reaction (and I only know about ten words, lol) Two people both came to the counter to help me... good service. I like that I can see the cooks in action, full kitchen is open to view. Clean and looks pretty well organized also. While standing at the counter, I could see they were busy... looked like they were working on some huge delivery orders. I ordered two of the lunch specials (really good deal!) and a small Wonton soup to go. Sweet and Sour Chicken for my girlfriend, and Sesame Chicken for me. A short wait later... I headed home, and the smells coming from the takeout containers made me hurry home, stomach growling. Lots of food, nicely cooked... good flavor, with good textures, appearance and aroma. It was good. The paper bag with the soup also had two eggrolls (part of the lunch deal) that were pretty good. Plasticware to eat with, chopsticks, Sweet and Sour sauce, and several fortune cookies (crispy, not stale... as often happens). The Wonton soup needed salt and spices, very bland. Wontons were pretty good though. Will I be back? Heck yea... this is the best takeout place I have found in Tampa. Now I need to try some of the other dishes. read more

I was craving Chinese food as one often does and needed to take care of my fried rice fix. My wife and I saw the reviews on here and decided to check it out. We decided to get a take out dinner special, which for the two of us, included a quart of Won-ton Soup, Honey Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and two egg rolls for 20 bucks. When I got there, I felt how heavy the bag was and thought I had picked up someone else's order. When I got home however, it was my order, just A-LOT of food! The soup had about 6 big Won-tons in it and the serving size for the chicken orders was massive. We could have fed six people with all this food. And we were not hungry an hour later! But if were, there was a ton of food left over! I will say that the food was good, however the egg rolls were not my favorite... They just tasted more greasy than anything else. Why 4 stars? Because sometimes you just need divey Chinese food. --- --- --- I haven't had this craving for quite a long time, but it finally hit me recently - I need greasy lo mein. A sick wife craving wonton soup probably was the primary driver in this situation, but after going back and forth on what to eat for dinner, we both unanimously agreed that China Garden was our winner. It's always amazing how identical every Chinese restaurant in the country is, and China Garden is no exception. The lobby has two small tables and enough room for about 12 people to stand before it would get too awkwardly crowded. The old/faded pictures of generic Chinese dishes sit above the counter, and there are 3-4 people in the back rapidly working on multiple pots of food at the same time. It really is a miracle that these places are even more consistent than McDonald's locations across America. Sometimes the language barrier can make ordering over the phone difficult, but that was not the case here. I even ended up changing something at the last minute, but it was no problem and the person on the other end was very friendly about it. As for the food, it was exactly as you'd expect - comfortable. Delicious but also greasy and a sure fire way to gain an inordinate amount numbers of pounds the next morning. Sodium and carbs dominate here. But the sick wife loved her wonton soup, so everybody walked away a winner here. Next time we're hankerin' for the same, we'll definitely be calling China Garden back again. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem. We've been customers since we moved to the area in 2014. The food is delicious and the prices are great. My favorites are the Vegetable Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, and Krab Rangoon. My husband likes the General Tso's Chicken. The serving sizes are generous. China Garden is my neighborhood Chinese carryout place, and they certainly do an adequate job with Asian-style fast-food. You'll find China Garden in the Publix shopping center at the intersection of N. Dale Mabry and Linebaugh Avenue in southern Carrollwood. They sit right next door to Tijuana Flats Mexican restaurant. China Garden has a large and diverse menu with a wide variety of lunch and dinner specials. Most folks are phoning in their carryout orders, and they'll sit at the few tables inside the restaurant while waiting for their food. I seldom see anyone actually eating at these tables. The folks here are very friendly and accommodating. They'll customize the sauces and adjust the level of heat in their dishes to meet your needs. What I especially like is the fact that they'll slip in free appetizers or free soup depending upon the size of your carryout order. This is not the best Asian food that you can find in town, but they are certainly fast, inexpensive, and tasty. Just what you need on a sloppy, rainy night! read more

Don't expect something different is just normal NY style Chinese food, but the place was clean and their service is extremely fast. You can order online, over the phone or just show up. They will deliver in a 3 mike radius from the restaurant. They don't deliver to my house, but I will drive to get here. The boneless spare ribs are great, big pieces nothing dry, they are very juicy. The wonton soup is always free if you spend $20 or more; it was very good, great taste and a really good portion, it could feed one person or how we did and it will feed 2 people. My husband ordered the pepper steak with onions; the pieces were good size and it was not over crowded from peppers it was a good balance.
