When I was younger I would only ever eat like three things, which drove my parents to despair. So once they found another type of food I liked (no matter how unhealthy it might have been) they made sure that once a week we'd get it! My Granny used to live in the Turf Lodge area of West Belfast, so whenever we would visit, we'd make the trip to Aldo's for our tea. The shop itself is pleasant, its tiled interior is always clean and the glass always perfect. The food is always fried to perfection and even though the pallet of baby Conor has grown significantly from the good old days, Aldo's fish is still the best.

Surrounded by its…read moreless than tasteful counterparts, Hong Kong Night offers delicious food at good prices and this makes it hard to beat if your in the mood for a good chow mein or crispy shredded duck. What I like about this place is that they do the basics right - they cook their food with care and attention, give you well portioned meals and use good ingredients to make it worth your money. Well worth a try if your getting fed up of fish and chips or cant be bothered cooking for yourself!

I have never had something delivered and called for a refund immediately after putting it on my plate but tonight I did. The price has gone up but portions are smaller. The chicken looked like rubber. Onions were raw and there were no mushrooms (you used to get onion mushroom peas). It looked like they dragged the bottom of the chip pan with the hard dry ends. Not a full properly cooked chip in sight. I wouldn't put it down to my dog. So my favourite Chinese in Finaghy is officially stroked off my list and I advise other Finaghy folk to avoid

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

Fun times and good food…read more Eddies is a great addition to Belfast. When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. This is at heart a burger joint and they do it well. I had a smokestake burger and it was delicious. Applewood cheese, onion rings and secret sauce allll gooooood!!! I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again.

They allowed my sister to order food for her son, and wait for my son and I before putting hers, my brothers and my mums order in with the kitchen so we could all eat together as I was running late. They couldn't have done enough for us, and Noelle kept checking that our little man was the only one among us with an allergy. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and will be back - not least of all because the manager bestowed upon us an amazing random act of kindness, which, considering we had just come in for lunch before visiting our dad at the Royal, this meant the entire world to us. It was very busy so we had a short wait to get a table. Once seated we browsed menus and went to the till to order and pay for our food (another short wait) which was then brought promptly to our table. There's an excellent vegetarian selection on the menu of burger/ wrap/ pitta offerings. Available fillings are a spicy soya and tomato Veggie Burger, a Beanie Burger and a Portobello Mushroom & Grilled Halloumi option. Plus a huge range of vegetarian sides. I ordered the Beanie Burger with sides of coleslaw and chips. The food was filling and tasty. Our Pinot Grigio and beer were good. We loved the excellent customer service which saw us getting two beers for the price of one by way of apology, as our first choice of beer had sold out and wasn't available. The ambience was bustling, lively and family friendly. Prices are reasonable and Nando's decor is bright, warm and welcoming. It's always a plus to get free refills on soft drinks and delicious mango frozen yogurt. All in all a great experience. I also now realise that the secret to a scrumptious Nando's is to always go up and order your own food, rather than letting your friends order for you, so you can get the spice levels right.

There are 2 reasons for this, the first is the curry which is the hottest I have ever tasted (excluding Indians) The second is its convenient placement of the premises outside The Hunting Lodge Bar, which makes it the perfect stop before the journey home for those patrons of the Hunting Lodge which have become 'Tired and Emotional'. Although you would be remiss to think of the Hong Kong Cottage as merely a haven for those who are a little bit too merry, thanks to their varied and tasty menu it caters to all wishing for a nice oriental break from cooking at home. The good thing about this Chinese (that I haven't seen with any others) is that they have some type of phone number recognition service - when you phone them, they know what your most recent order was. Now, I know what you're thinking, "this guy must phone them twice a week and that's why they know his order", but no. I only ever phoned them five or six times a year, and when my number came up they'd confirm my address to me. One time I ordered the same thing as I had the previous time, bar one item I'd excluded, and they asked me if I needed curry noodles as well. Either they have a Savant answering the phone who works every hour the place is open, or they have some type of recognition system. I'm inclined to believe it is the latter.
