When I phoned in and made the appointment I asked if she wanted my name but she said my phone number was enough. I was placed in a room that was not comfortable for me. I have been to spas before and this was by far the most unprofessional one by far. The room, I should have noticed in the photos, was just old, very sparse and needed updating. The ambiance was disappointing. I waited in the room for 5 mins for the person to return. When she came back and started I was thinking I could have paid my grandchild to do this. How many times could my arch get messaged before it would disappear or scraping the underside of my toes. Not a reflexology massage I envisioned. No explanation of a massage or reflexology. No forewarning of touching my thighs, which caught me by surprise. She also smelled of cigarettes and openly coughed twice while massaging. Then to top it off the 30 mins massage was $40. No I don't recommend this place although she mentioned if I gave a 5 star google review I would be given a 10 dollar discount on my next massage. I would have to show proof if the review. Once Ken started talking to me about my back pain and actually massaging me, I realized that I had made a great decision in going to him. I have a lot of chronic back pain and knots in my back and he was able to get several of those to release and I left feeling a lot of relief. No one comes to help with translation. *Sigh* They no longer offer a full menu. Gone are the 30 minutes of foot massage and add on from there. $50 for a 30 minute massage is outrageous. I can say that because I am in the industry. The face cut out on the bed was so incredibly uncomfortable! I had to keep adjusting my neck because the opening isn't big enough. So now my neck hurts. The language barrier was a big issue. I kept trying to communicate but all we could seem to understand of each other was the the service was $50. She asked about pressure. I said medium as I didn't want to ask for more. She was slight and that usually involves excessive force and can be painful due to force not skill. She gave a half hearted massage. When I go to check out again, language barrier. She is telling me that I will be charged $2.00 service fee for card. Which I understand and agree to. She proceeds to try to explain to me that she must put in a total to run the card. $52. Here is my biggest issue. She wants me to tip. Again, I am in the industry and find this very unprofessional. Once I understand what she wants. I say $57. Only $5.00 she asks? She looks at me with a blank stare on her face as if she is waiting for me to add more. I explain to her that is all my budget can afford. She stares at me blankly for a moment longer as if to give me the opportunity to change my mind. I should have said on 2nd thought. No tip! I think I was too shocked to come up with a better answer. The paper work was filled out as an afterthought and after the fact. Which I would have before hand if she would have mentioned it and perhaps she would have actually addressed my needs. I will NOT be back.
