    Would you eat this?

How is this place in business. Ordered takeout. Got home and it was so over cooked, dried out and inedible. There is no way they couldn't know the food wasn't edible. It was so dried out it was hard. You literally couldn't eat it. The should be ashamed of themselves. A complete waste of money. Save yourself and don't order from here.

    BBQ Pork Egg Foo Young

I ordered a to go order from here a few weeks ago, and I couldn't wait to order again. I ordered the BBQ pork egg foo young...and my whole life was a lie! This is by far THE BEST egg foo young I have ever had! The egg patties are super thick and fluffy but light crunch on the outside. They are filled with fresh veggies...and no meat! (This is the game changer). The rich brown sauce that goes on the patties contains all of the BBQ pork! The pork is sliced super thin and with so much flavor...melt in your mouth! This is a very large portion, but totally worth it when you can have leftovers of this decadence over and over again! I have not tried anything else from here, and probably won't, because I found my happiness in BBQ pork egg foo young.... Get it!

Been to this place a couple of times, the foods here are delightful, the services are great. A really great choice to dine in or take out.

Decent prices, excellently large portions - and happily surprised it was so good! Everything was good, especially the pan fried noodles. Kiddo enjoyed the Pad Thai and looking forward to trying other dishes like lo mein.

We have been going here quite a while now since we moved out east and I would say that I am very skeptical and a critic when it comes to asian food that said this place is amazing! Our typical to go order would include a lo mien, a vegetable dish, a chicken/seafood dish and an appetizer or two. So far the food hasn't disappoint us although there are probably some times that a piece of chicken is hard to chew or pieces of veggies needs to be cooked a little bit more but other than that it is always been flavorful, generous and no unidentified object along with the food which just means it is clean lol. Their sweet and sour sauce is not consistent with the texture and consistency. There are times that it is watery and there are also times that it is almost looks like a jello. The place (from my opinion) needs more lightning, it seems dark if you try to dine in. Staff are okay I think they need to be a little bit more welcoming and helpful but I am not saying that they are not nice but could be better.

Their shrimp fried rice is excellent. The shrimp is really big and very tasty. I've had a few dishes here that I've enjoyed.

**Ambiance** The…read morerestaurant itself is a decent size with plenty of seating and large booths, so it would be comfortable for families or larger groups. **Service** Service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The staff spoke English as well as either Cantonese or Mandarin, which initially gave me high hopes for the food. **Food** I won't lie--I came in with pretty moderate expectations. After chatting with the staff in both Mandarin and Cantonese, I thought we were in for a really authentic meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We ordered five dishes, and it quickly became apparent that the food is heavily catered toward American tastes. Several dishes contained ingredients that traditionally wouldn't be included, while other key ingredients were missing altogether. The biggest issue for me was the sweetness. Three of the five dishes were noticeably sweet, which isn't what I expected from the dishes we ordered. The standout dish of the meal was the Mongolian Beef. It was flavorful and wasn't overly sweet. That said, it lacked the spice I typically associate with the dish. The Mapo Tofu was probably the biggest surprise. It was missing the ground pork that usually gives the dish so much flavor and texture. Instead, it included bell peppers, onions, and water chestnuts--ingredients I've personally never seen in Mapo Tofu. Rather than being spicy and numbing, the dominant flavor was sweetness. The Chicken Pan-Fried Noodles were difficult to enjoy. The sauce was very sweet, and the noodles were cooked to the point where they were tough and chewy. Instead of the thinner noodles commonly used for this dish, they used thick noodles that reminded me more of lo mein. We also ordered a Beef and Scallion dish. It felt more like a beef chop suey variation with scallions added. The scallions themselves were cooked perfectly, but once again the sauce leaned much sweeter than expected. The Hot and Sour Soup was actually the first item to arrive. I jokingly told my family that if the soup wasn't good, I might be worried about the rest of the meal because hot and sour soup is one of those dishes that really showcases balance and technique. Unfortunately, it ended up confirming my concerns. It lacked the bold sour and spicy flavors that make the dish so enjoyable. By the end of the meal, we had a lot of leftovers. The only items we brought home were the Mongolian Beef and a few pieces of beef picked out from the Beef and Scallion dish. **Overall** This restaurant may appeal to diners who enjoy sweeter, Americanized Chinese food, but it wasn't for me. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't personally recommend it to anyone looking for the flavors and dishes I grew up eating.

For the lunch special, you get a soup, entree, rice, and spring roll. I chose the wonton soup. It was the perfect temperature and tasted amazing. We shared the beef sticks. They were cut so thin but still juicy. I chose the sesame chicken with steamed, and I loved the taste! However, it was served too hot. The first bite burned my entire mouth. I waited over 10 minutes for it to cool down enough to enjoy. I really loved the taste, and I appreciate how they serve the food fresh, but maybe they could wait for it to cool before serving. The spring role, though, was great, so crispy. Overall the food was great, we also didn't wait long for the food. I recommend this place and we will be back!

The three breaded chicken dishes were all over cooked. They were so crunchy they were hard to chew. The "fried rice" was as bland and not very hot. The steamed dumplings were not steamed enough and the dough was still soggy and they weren't hot. All of my complaints deal with how the food was prepared. Maybe the flavors would be great, had everything been prepared properly but since it wasn't, there is no way to know. Ivy's was a huge disappointment, and despite all the high reviews, I would never give Ivy anything more than three stars and quite honestly if the service had not been so good. I would've given it a two star rating.

I liked the people, the place, the menu, the location, but honestly I paid $30 for leftovers that I can't eat. It's a shame. I've never before seen anything this greasy. The owner came out to my car after I exited and asked why I didn't like it. While I respect that, he explained that what appeared as grease was instead, sauce, and that it was flash fried. The problem is that neither the sauce nor grease had taste or spice. When I placed several pieces of beef on a napkin, they saturated the napkin with oil. Maybe it's an oily sauce? They were generous with the beef. The beef quality was pretty good, and the vegetables were unique enough to merit praise. If it were me, I would ramp up the taste quotient in either the marinade or sauce, eliminate 90% of the oil, as it's unnecessary, and add spice. This could be a healthy dish if they used avocado oil, way less oil, and reduced the salt.
