It's a takeout place and they've been around many many years. I've been going to them for about 20 years now same owners and very nice people. The food is great. Anything you get you get a good portion and it's cooked to order. I love their chicken wings bone and they're huge and fried to perfection. They are shrimp fried rice, which I get regularly has a lot of real good shrimp in it not just a few on the top like a lot of places also I pretty much get the same thing and they know my order so when I order and get halfway through, they know it's me And know how I like it. The only place that I'll get Chinese to go China One in Palmetto, Florida family owned and operated fair prices and lots of lots of quality portions of food! The location is convenient right off 301 and the ambience is a strip mall. It's not a place you eat at it's a takeout place although they do have a couple tables. read more

Good food Good portions at a good price. First time but will be a repeat customer. Picked up as a carry out food was ready on time and hot.

Good food. Service was typical. Egg drop soup was good. Crab Rangoon was good and crispy. Food came out in about 15 minutes from order.

Awful food, orange chicken was way too spicy. Charged $30 for a small plate of food and a thing of crab rangoons(no sauce). Insanely overpriced for the portions, they skimp you like crazy. Awful experience, would not go again read more

I ordered takeout for dinner and it was excellent. Crisp-tender and colorful fresh vegetables and tofu in a light but flavorful sauce. Spring rolls were still crisp on the outside even after the ride home. The young woman at the register returned my smile and was pleasant. There was enough leftover for a second dinner. Some of the negative reviews sounded pretty implausible. I'm glad I gave this small family-owned restaurant a chance. read more

This business does not have a delivery service so they use UberEats and DoorDash. They will not honor UberEats orders but will allow the order to process thru and have the driver show to the location only to tell them the payment cannot be processed. When I called to speak with the restaurant they had a huge attitude about how this is not their problem and offered no solutions. Sad that this business has no concerns about this and did not want to reach out to Uber on their end to rectify the situation. I expect better service and less of an attitude when I'm trying to spend my hard earned money at their location read more

I don't even know where to start with this place. First of all it's 150 degrees in there because they don't have any air conditioning, not a fan or even a block of ice. So there goes your ambiance...you sweat it off when you walk in. I just moved here and decided to give it a shot despite the reviews. I ordered the sesame chicken combination with beef fried rice. It looked like uncle Ben's with some weird beef like shavings on top with some red sticky gelatinous figures next to it. They had been fried so hard you could break a window with it. I also had some egg drop soup that was devoid of any flavor. Even after soy saucing it to death-no dice. I don't give up on places too easy but after two tries...(I don't even want to talk about my bean curd experience). I am done. read more

Since my last review, I will provide an update that is very positive. I have had takeout from here 5 more times. This location is so close to Publix, it makes it easy to pick up. Mongolian Beef is very tender, congrats to the person who is pounding it! I asked for White rice instead of Yellow in my Fried Rice, they accommodated me. The Moo Shu Pork still looks awful but it tastes great. This last visit I tried Beef & Broccoli with mushrooms, it tastes great but would like to see that real dark sauce with it, I will ask about that next time. Good food, good staff, great location! read more

The worst Chinese food I've ever had. Even the wonton soup was nasty. Will never order from there again.

Their prices have increased and portion have become smaller. They charge extra for all condiments which to me is crazy.

How is this place even open with all the bad reviews?! I was entertaining the idea of lunch here to try it but NEVER MIND. My husband and I went through this in Pinellas Park [bad food, had to throw it away], after moving from up north. Never have thrown food away, but that tells you how bad it was. It was hard trusting reviews after that experience but we took the plunge when we moved here to Palmetto, and we were lucky to find CHINA CITY EXPRESS. So to those who have sadly gone through the same and don't know about our gem, there it is. Nice family from NY owns the business we found out and they are great. And they have drive-thru! Oh wait, they're less expensive too! And it's quality food. My husband was reading these awful reviews and I had to jump in here to possibly save the next person. read more

First time I ordered from this location tonight for my family and the food was terrible. Whatever you think a particular dish is supposed to taste like, it's definitely NOT going to taste like that. Nothing was traditional and even the colors of the food were odd. What a shame. Always looking for a local place but I couldn't even eat 3 of the dishes we ordered. Waste of $100. read more

Be aware!! SO MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM THIS PLACE HAVE BEEN HIDDEN: Stingy portions of food for a HIGH PRICE. Sauces taste like CAN FOOD, not fresh. I looked at their reviews on Google and discovered that there are lots of negative reviews, yet some how the restaurant found a way to paste old 5 star reviews up top. If you click on "reviews" and then press "NEW" you will see that many people are currently complaining about this place! THEY MESS UP THE ORDER A LOT, THEN GET UPSET WITH YOU ABOUT FIXING THEIR MISTAKE??? read more

The food is OK, However the service there sucks!!!! I ordered chow Mein or Chop Suey per menu , I ordered special CHOW MEIN and I am not Chinese however when I looked up the difference to make sure I was ordering the right thing it clearly stated what the difference was between the 2, what I wanted was chow mein which comes with noodles and the Chop suey is meat and vegetables, What I wanted was not what I got and when I called the Owner stated that CHOW MEIN was only meat and vegetables ! that is not the truth ... they gave me chop suey. , I spent over 50.00 ordering from there, I've tried to give them a chance again due to previous experience but I just cant, I know what I wanted but I guess she went and chose for me TF !!!! read more

China One - a plate of food with chopsticks - Chinese Near Me - Palmetto, Florida

Ordered take out chicken wings... They were awful. 4 per order for a little over $5.00 (too expensive). I took a chance because I had a few entrees before. Half the wings were bloody and the other half were old, hard and yellow looking (not the breading the meat). They did not look healthy to eat so I just threw them out. Too bad, I will never go there again. They don't seem to care if they get people sick. read more

i've ordered from here before and it was great. had a church function years ago which was catered by china one and it was great, so i went there today to get egg foo young for myself. eighteen dollars, no rice, and i paid for extra gravy which was almost pure soy sauce. poured that down the drain and used a bottle of store bought pork gravy. won't be going back. can't seem to find a good oriental place. :o( THIS IS NOT RICK'S REVIEW, IT'S TEENA'S REVIEW AND WE LIVE IN ELLENTON. read more

My dumplings which I asked for fried, one side was burned completely and the other raw. My lomein had chicken but it was 3 large chunks of chicken fat and no other chicken. Some vegetables were old and almost rancid tasing and some were not cooked rock hard. I would not recommend this place, there are plenary of other Chinese places around. read more

This take-out Chinese restaurant is FILTHY. There is trash all over the floor, and the restaurant looks as if it has never been cleaned. Piles of old supplies spill over from an alcove next to the counter. Even the menus are dirty. I didn't want to touch anything. Filthy old rags are tied to the chair feet with rubber bands. The door is propped open, with more trash blowing in from the street. It is THE MOST grungy, disgusting restaurant I have ever seen in all of my 70 years. The cashier just sat lazily behind the counter, making no attempt to make the place look presentable to the public. How do they stay in business? I wish I had visited the place before I ordered. The food was without any flavor whatsoever, but left a bad tasted in my mouth. I ordered two entirely different dishes and they tasted exactly the same. It was also quite expensive. When I got home, after I tasted both dishes, the food all went into the trash. Just the worst. Goodbye $28. read more

Placed a take out order, which I have done many times, got the wrong order and called back. The person answering was blaming it on the person that picked up and not taking any responsibility for screwing up. I was frustrated at spending $50 for two dinners that will now be cold. She said I could just come back and get my food (all the way across town) I pushed back and she said she didn't have to take s*** from anyone. Using profanity and total unprofessional behavior won't increase their business and to my surprise, then told me she was the owner. Well, GOOD LUCK with that. Anyone that orders from them can be subjected to their nasty attitude and crappy food. It was my last time ordering there for sure. read more

My sister and I always get General Tso Chicken. Some days it's spicy and some days it's not, but it's still good. It's about two minutes from where I live, so it's super convenient. We always do take-out because we'd rather enjoy our food while watching tv. Plus, there's no air conditioning, but it doesn't really seem to bother the people there since they always keep the door open. All-in-all, It's pretty much a take-out place. The food is great and so are the prices. read more

China One - General Tso Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Palmetto, Florida

Two weeks ago had a good experience then tried Uncle whens in Sarasota which was much better. Ordered $30 worth of food, the gf wasnt happy with her soup but today had one of the worst dinning experiences that really brought out the stinginess of the owners. Had to drive 20 minutes back in the rain because my chicken lo mein didnt taste edible, after trying to eat it i decided to call them, the lady said just bring it back and they can replace it, note this is a $10 meal, so i drove 20 minutes back in the rain, i asked to replace it with the general tsou's which is a dollar more because it comes with rice, after some attitude about the price difference and her telling me i ate half like i should be lucky to even get her attention she decided to make me the small lunch size and didnt include the rice after arguing with her about the rice she added the smallest portion imaginable like it was worth gold. Im not a person that takes advantage of people but i do stand up for myself when i am owed what i pay for. Woman needs to work on her customer relations or move to a different country where the customer isn't king. Hopefully the general tsou's will be edible, but definitely not eating here again, they couldn't possibly fit more vegetables in their food to make the cost cheaper... In the picture you see the rice i got next to a penny to compare the size... would be a funny joke if it didnt cost me money read more

First of all I ordered chow mein and got chop suey also got the pork fried rice the pork had an odd stale taste to it the fried rice had no flavor whatsoever and it was made with yellow rice since when is fried rice made with yellow rice Also if I wanted chop suey which I don't like I would have ordered chop suey this is the second time that I've got food from here and it's been bad I should have learned my lesson the first time I will never get food from here again. Apparently when you order anything from them thru doordash they just give you whatever they want and not what you order. Also I ordered the fortune cookies and they were stale wrapped in plastic but they were stale so who knows how long those cookies were sitting around. As far as I'm concerned this place should be shut down. read more

This is very bland Chinese food. The hot 'n sour soup is weirdly sweet. The worst I've ever had. My shrimp and vegetables had 4 shrimp in the order. My husbans General Tso's was very red in color and he said extremely bland. I was hoping to find a good Chinese restaurant as new to area...but this sure isn't it. I'm afraid most of our meal went in the garbage. Too bad. read more

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice. The next day I had diarrhea so bad and I was sick for 4 days. I came back to the restaurant when I had the chance to talk to them about it and I asked for my money back. I had called on the phone first and the gentleman who I'm assuming is one of the owners hung up the phone on me while I was trying to talk to him. Then I show up in person and then his wife yelled at me and said that she doesn't remember who I was and actually called the police on me. I tried to talk to the lady to show her the receipt on my bank account app and she didn't want to talk to me. I told her that I was going to report her to the department of health. So please don't eat here you will be extremely disappointed and probably have the police called on you. And this is coming from a registered nurse. read more

We were a bit afraid to eat in there upon first visit. The place is a bit run down in a pretty low-grade shopping center across from Walmart. There was also a Spanish gentleman in the back cooking and prepping food which is just confusing. After going against our better judgement we placed and order and was pleasently surprised. I'm famous for customizing my orders the exact way I want it and because of the language barrier, the order usually gets screwed up. Not this time, perfect order of Pepper Steak, no veges, extra spicy. They get half the points, but what about taste? Surprisingly great! The sauce was very tasty and complimented the steak very well. The rice was pretty standard but couldn't find any faults. It seemed fresh and there was plenty of pork mixed throughout. We've eaten here 2-3 times now and haven't been disappointed yet. It's not exactly top of the line chinese food, but your not paying much either. China One is the perfect place to go if you want tasty food at an average price. read more

Ordered a take out and they completely messed the order up. My fault, I should have double checked that the right stuff was there. Called back to let them know and their reply was "what do you want us to do about it" problem here is the girl taking the order doesn't seem to have a great command of the English language. I have not eaten here in quite some time but the Hot and sour soup They did get right was terrible. Would not recommend this place at all. Wasted $25.00. read more

Absolutely disgusting!! There food i so bland and not served as in menu pictures. The rice is old and no flavor to fried rice what so ever. Not 1 pea, no sign of eggs, nothing. Ordered a large wonton soup and a combo meal. The staff was not very friendly and the Wonton Soup tasted funny. Almost like bad pork. I tried it once before and thought it might have been me so I gave it a second chance. Was definitely not me. The pork fried rice tasted like a boil in the bag rice and no flavor at all. The chicken seemed a bit dry. I would not recommend this location. read more

Not the best Chinese food, but the best I've found so far in this area. Soup noodles are always stale. Check your order before you leave, I've gone home and been missing items a few times now (but they were always good fixing it. Just the drive on 301 again argh!) overall I'd recommend. Staff is always busy but friendly. read more

My husband and I ordered garlic chicken, general tso's, egg drop soup, wonton soup, and egg roll. The garlic chicken was good and the general tso's was ok, the quality is just like a standard Chinese-American food (nothing special). The rest of the food we had were horrible. Overall, it was not a good experience and we will rather not come back. read more

Yesterday we went here and I walked in to grab a menu and go back to the cars and my family could choose what they wanted to eat as I walked back in the lady was rude and was not very fluent in English and was getting frustrated. I told her what I wanted and she gave me the total of $48When I went to pay with my card there were a number of steps just to pay. I followed all the directions and she says my total came out to $109 I knew that was wrong so she made me sign the receipt and then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay two extra dollars to fix the amount. When I went back to the car I told my mom and her husband came in with me and asked for the receipt nicely and she threw a fit telling us she didn't have it and that everything was my fault so my mom proceeded to come in and my mom asked nicely to her also askingWhere the first receipt was like she said the last time she didn't know where it was when I clearly seen her throw it in the garbage then she called me and my family low class people because we had on pajamas but little did she know we just got back from three different vacations and then called us a bitch and then told us to just call the police because she didn't want to deal with it all she had to do was give us the receipt and that's all we wanted read more

We got takeout last night. First and last time. The food was terrible in every way. First bite of the egg roll had some kind of piece of plastic in it. Second bite of food was the chicken entree, it was a hard dried out piece of unidentifiable origin. Beef szechuan was made with pieces of fat and some kind of dried out chewy leather like meat. Even the rice was dried out and tired after being cooked so many times. So it all went in the garbage. read more

I have to say that I really like China One restaurant and they always seems to have just the right order time. I wish they delivered that would be a big plus as there's not many places to eat around this part of town. If you want a change, this is a great place to eat as they have a ton of variety. I always get my Chinese food here: it's hot, it's correct, and they're not stingy on the sauce. read more

I cannot express how much I enjoy online ordering here! Food is great, they are always quick (even when they are super busy) and they are very nice. Don't let how the store looks fool you though, it isn't the fanciest of places but who cares if the food is on point. Only reason I did not give 5 Stars is because of the no delivery option but if that is because they focus on cooking the food to perfection rather than driving food around the city then that is perfectly fine with me! read more
