We set out on a noble quest for noodles, only to be betrayed by our usual joint being closed on Mondays (rude). So, we rebounded into the arms of China Moon.... our culinary rebound... and it didn't disappoint! Service was fast enough to make you question whether they had a crystal ball and already knew your order. We got Beef Lo Mein (solid, but not quite "call-your-grandma-and-cry" good like our usual spot), Moo Goo Gai Pan (the chicken was so tender), and the star of the show: Hot Spicy Shredded Crispy Beef. Pro tip: The sauce for the crispy beef comes on the side, which means by the time we got home, it was still crispy. We did the drizzle ourselves like the culinary artistes we are. Felt powerful!!!!! Overall, a dependable Chinese spot in Lake Elsinore for fresh, hot, and satisfying eats. Bonus Tip: Parking is meh and the vibes in the lot are a little... Wild West sketchy. Lock your car, roll up your windows, and walk in but still keep an eye on your car..

Hubby and I ordered a total of 3 dishes - salt and pepper pork chops, eggplant with tofu, and shrimp shumai. We had steamed rice and fried rice to go with the entrees. The fried rice was cooked well but bland. Everything else was pretty packed full of flavor. I enjoyed the eggplant tofu and appreciated that all the dishes came out hot and stayed hot. The eggplant still had its shape and absorbed the sauce well. I generally don't like tofu, but fry on this dish was excellent. It was crispy on the ouside. The shumai was juicy and scrumptious. I could eat those everyday. The pork chops were crispy and tender at the same time. They were lightly salted and peppered and placed on a bed of shredded cabbage and sliced peppers. The service was fast and the host was friendly. The atmosphere was quaint and peaceful. The tables were clean and the condiments organized.

I really liked the broth and veggies in this soup. My friend gave me her chicken cause she didnt want it and it was really good. I asked for no chicken or beef in mine hoping there would be compensation in the shrimp for not having the other two but i only got 2 pieces of shrimp. The wontons themselves were grainy and the beef inside was over spice. They were not great. The rest of the soup was amazing and the shrimp crystal dumplings were really good. Our server felt like she was rushing us until we actually ordered our food. And your water tastes like dirt. :( it was horrible. Thank you !

Great place for lunch. The food was fresh and very delicious. Great place to eat in or take out, the dining area was very spacious quite atmosphere. The food was ready within a few min and the service was on point they accommodated us to dine in when we initially asked to take out.

Delivery: Food: Our first time having avian Moon. We went with delivery which was very fast. We ordered: twinkle walnut shrimp, steamed dumplings, kung pao chicken, vegetable chow mein In my opinion the shrimp was too fishy. My husband didn't though. I really liked the dumplings. We'll definitely give it another go.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Crab IslandUnfortunately, our experience at Crab Island was…read moreone of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. This was supposed to be a special day as we were celebrating our 8th anniversary on our way to Glen Ivy Spa. We were looking forward to a nice boiling crab dinner, but the entire evening was ruined from the start. We were told we could walk in and sit anywhere, only to be told the available seating was reserved. Our server appeared very inexperienced and struggled with basic menu questions, orders, drinks, and customer service. Our sodas took about 10 minutes and were flat and overly syrupy. We were also told that if we were to order sushi, it could only be from the front page of a four page sushi menu. The seafood boil was extremely disappointing. The seasoning was overwhelmingly garlicky rather than the lemon-pepper flavor we requested. The shrimp were mushy, the crab legs were unusually small and difficult to open, and the sausage and other ingredients tasted old and overcooked. Service continued to be a major issue. We had to repeatedly ask for utensils, napkins, and crackers, but instead of getting what we asked for, we were handed scissors. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, yet we were frequently ignored while the server focused on phone and new walk-in orders. We also had to beg for basic items like water and butter. The lemon pepper seasoning we asked for were a couple lemon wedges with a teaspoon of salt and pepper in a small plastic to go container. The most concerning part was the restroom situation. The women's restroom was being worked on, so my fiancé was directed to use the men's restroom, where she nearly stepped in human waste on the floor. We quietly informed the staff, who seemed to address it, but the entire situation was extremely unsanitary. At the end, we waited again for our check and discovered we had been charged $5 for a small side of butter that had taken approximately 20 minutes to arrive. When we politely questioned the charge, the situation became uncomfortable, with the owner and another employee coming out to discuss it rather than simply resolving the issue. We remained respectful throughout the entire experience because we understand what it's like to work in the service industry. Unfortunately, the food, cleanliness, service, and overall experience were simply unacceptable. We even felt sick afterward. We have never left a zero tip before, but this was the first time we genuinely felt the service warranted it. Not sure if this place changed owners, but the reviews went from good to horrible, and we are not the only ones with bad food experiences. We are still paying for it, our stomachs have been sour from the food, into the next day, which ruined our Glen Ivy spa day for our anniversary. Do your mind and body and favor a don't not go! Sadly, we cannot recommend this restaurant. For us, it was less "Crab Island" and more "Crap Island."

Main Street Kitchen & Tap is perfectly situated across from a public parking lot, but we easily found parking at the curb out front. Tables outside looked inviting, but we were a bit chilly, so inside we popped. The brick and wood decor added to the cozy vibe and walls displayed historic photos of Old Lake Elsinore Main Street. Love that! After scanning the menu, I opted for the Whiskey Glazed Salmon with steamed broccoli and creamy garlic potatoes (which I read as mashed, but no, they're cubed). The salmon was cooked nicely and the whiskey sauce was tasty and light without being overly sweet. I think I would've preferred garlic mash potatoes, but ate a bit of the cubed ones to note they were fine. The steamed broccoli was done perfectly and NOT drowning in butter, which I greatly appreciated. Hubs was peckish, not as hungry as me and asked if he could get the kid's menu cheeseburger and fries for an upcharge. Nichelle, our friendly server, said, 'No problem, it's understood it's a smaller portion adults also like.' Great! It states that it comes with a free soda as part of the kid's menu, but Hubs had already ordered coffee, and I don't drink soda, so that was itemized along with the coffee charge, but we didn't mind because Hubs was getting exactly what he was craving. He proclaimed the cheeseburger and very soft, steamed bun as 'Yummy!' and the serving of fries 'just right.' All in all, MSKT was a delightful discovery and we would pop in again when returning to Lake Elsinore, which we will better plan for and make time to enjoy the shops along this quaint stretch. Cheers! "CC"

The food is consistently delicious, and the portions are generous. My personal favorite is the chile relleno -- always perfectly cheesy and never a disappointment. The rice and beans have that unmistakable homemade quality that you just can't fake. And I never leave without a Jamaica to accompany my meal. If you're dining in, do not skip the chips and salsa. The salsa has a nice kick and is absolutely worth saving room for. My daughters are devoted to the California burrito -- it's their standard order every time, and for good reason. These things are massive; they regularly split one into two meals. My husband likes to mix it up and try different things on the menu, and so far, nothing has missed the mark. Leftovers are practically guaranteed no matter what you order. The atmosphere is warm, upbeat, and lively -- exactly what you'd expect from a true family restaurant. There's usually a game playing on one of the TVs, and the staff are more than happy to switch it to whatever sport you're looking for. The dining room is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of seating and ample parking in the shopping center. Service is quick without ever feeling rushed, whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. The staff are friendly and attentive -- the kind that make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. Vero's is the of place that earns your loyalty one meal at a time. Highly recommend stopping by if you're ever in the Lake Elsinore area.
