We chose to visit Yen Hing Dragon Restaurant. The interior is a little dated, but this is typical of small town restaurants. It's obviously family run. Seating is a combination of booths and tables and chairs. The menu is pretty large and there's something for everyone. We went with the House Special fried rice, a lunch special of Sichuan Spicy Chicken (lunch special with hot and sour soup and an egg roll), an order of crab rangoon, an iced tea and a water. $29 and change before tip. The food came out after a very short wait. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Our server was very attentive. If you're passing through Waukon give these guys a shot. We were pleasantly surprised and left happy.

Staff was friendly and attentive when drink glasses were needed to be refilled. Portion size was very good size we had enough for each of us take home for one more meal. The veggies were crisp and flavorful. The beef, chicken, pork and seafood was not tough or rubbery but very flavorful and tender. The Pan fried dumplings were amazing the spicy sauce that accompanied them had the right amount of kick to it and you can never go wrong with Crab Rangoon's hot and fresh from the kitchen. Price for a family of 4 will run around $65 - $70 with soup and appetizers. The most expensive meal that I remember was $12.95 per plate. Seating was comfortable and roomy the booths were longer and had plenty of room to hold our 4 entree's and drinks. This place will become our new go to Chinese Restaurant.

So went there last week for the first time in almost 2 years. What a disappointment. There was small portions in the steam pans and the worst part was the food was cold to luke warm. The steam tables were not on. The best part was always the fried fish, but, no fried fish. Some of the food in the pans looked like at least warmed over from previous day. Stuffed mushrooms tasted bad. Over priced and under satisfied. Not going back there again
