    General Tso lunch special
    Jenny C.

First time trying this restaurant. Stopped by to pick up a general two lunch special. There is major construction in the plaza now and dust everywhere. If you care about keeping your car clean, stay away. The rice is bland. It doesn't taste like pork fried rice. It has an odd taste and is under seasoned. This has been the worse Chinese food I have tasted in South Florida. I threw the food away after a few bites. Total waste. :( There is a Chinese restaurant across the street that only has 3.0 stars but the food is much better!

Absolutely not. Never coming back here again wasted my money and it didn't even taste good stay away from the orange chicken, it looks neon orange horrible. The noodles were alright but totally not worth it. Throwing away the container of orange chicken it looks toxic never coming back and wish i could get my money back. The man that answered the phone was horribly rude. It was empty I should've know it was going to be bad.

Side brown rice and white rice. Excellent!

This is a good place for Chinese food delivery in the Wellington area. The minimum order is $20 and delivery is free. The gentleman who took my order was very courteous and answered the phone promptly. The food was delivered in about 45 minutes. The delivery man was courteous and they accept credit cards. Driver kept his mask on. The food was nicely packaged and was hot. The steamed pork dumplings were excellent. The dipping sauce is among the best. The beef with Chinese vegetables was delicious. Plenty of tenderized beef. Vegetables cooked to my liking. Excellent white rice. I ordered a side order quart of brown rice which was good and very healthy. I highly recommend this place for takeout or delivery in the Wellington area. I appreciate kind and efficient service and delicious Chinese food!

I like the Chinese food here. Quick service food is good and hot. I hear it's better than the one across the street but I don't know.

My shrimp fried rice consisted shrimp, rice and peas. No egg, no bean sprouts, no flavor. Once was enough for me.

The worst pork fried rice I ever had. Definitely not "New York style" Chinese food. The wonton soup was not bad

The ingredients tasted fresh, the seasoning was on point, and nothing felt unnecessarily heavy or overly sauced. The shrimp shumai were delicious--generously filled and flavorful. The garlic clam with vermicelli was probably my favorite. Not only was the presentation beautiful, served on oyster shells, but the combination actually worked. The garlic was flavorful without overpowering the delicate clams, and the vermicelli provided a great contrast in texture. This is the kind of dish where you can tell some thought went into the execution. The sweet and sour pork was also very well done. Crisp, not greasy, and importantly, not drowning in an overly sweet sauce. The balance was just right. We finished with the egg custard, which takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It was worth waiting for. It had that genuine, traditional quality that you don't always find when restaurants start modifying dishes to appeal to a broader audience. And then there was the service: Our server, Mai, was wonderful. She was warm, courteous, and professional without being overly formal or hovering. More importantly, she actually knew the menu. Her recommendations were excellent, and every dish she suggested delivered. She also recommended a sake pairing that complemented the meal beautifully. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable for the quality. These are dishes that require good ingredients and careful preparation, and I didn't feel like we were paying an inflated price. Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, thoughtful execution, and genuinely good service. That's what makes a restaurant worth returning to--and Grand Lake got all four right. A very solid 5 stars from me.

I ordered the War Shu Duck, and it was every bit as good as I remembered from when I was a kid--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The wonton noodle soup was outstanding as always. The broth was clean, rich, and full of flavor. The wontons were generously filled with shrimp and pork, along with bok choy, making every bite satisfying. I also had the shrimp balls, which arrived piping hot, were perfectly cooked, and weren't greasy at all. They were packed with flavor. Overall, another excellent dining experience. It's great to see a longtime local favorite continue to deliver the same quality after all these years. I'll definitely be back.

First time ordering from here and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Their flyer showed up in…read morethe mail, I did a quick review check, and decided to give them a try. Let's be honest, finding good Chinese food around boynton beach is no easy task.. We ordered the BBQ spare ribs, chicken chow mein, Mongolian beef, and General Tso's chicken. The spare ribs were just okay. Not bad, just not something I'd rush to order again. The General Tso's chicken and Mongolian beef, though? Both were descent and hit the spot. Overall, the food was very good, for the area! Now let's get to the most important part of this review.. When my chicken chow mein arrived, I honestly thought they had sent the wrong order. Instead of the crispy noodle dish most of us expect with vegetables & chicken, it came as a soupy mix with lettuce, celery, cabbage, chicken, a few shredded carrots, and crispy wontons on the side. I called the restaurant to let them know, and that's when I learned this is simply how they serve chow mein.. Once I realized it wasn't a mistake, I told them not to worry about it at all. But the manager clearly wasn't having that. He called me back and was determined to make sure I was happy. Truly above-and-beyond service. Even after I insisted I was fine, he sent over another dish similar to what I had wanted and wow. Vegetables and rice noodles in a spicy sauce that ended up being the best dish of the entire order. I don't even know what it's called, but I do know I'll be ordering it again. Great service, genuinely kind people, and food that keeps getting better. Sometimes it's not just about the meal. It's about how a restaurant treats you, and this place absolutely nailed it.
