I was quickly seated and given a menu. I checked out the ingredients for the grill and decided to give it a whirl. I'm glad I did! They have many different meats, including steak, chicken, fajita chicken, shrimp and pepperoni just to name a few. The veggies and such were numerous, as well as the sauces. You get a choice of steamed rice, fried rice, or lo mein as your starch. No one should have an issue finding something to please the palette here. The meal actually comes with a soup or salad, so I chose the egg drop. It was yummy and served with what appeared to be home made fried noodles. Definitely not the bulk noodles you see at most places. My server even set me up with another bowl of noodles to much on! Service was excellent and attentive. The servers were all exceptional and paid attention to you. They never let my drink get empty. Now if only Atlanta could get a place like this! Highly recommended.

Because the area is quite rural, I never imagined there would be a Korean restaurant nearby. That changed when an acquaintance mentioned this place, so a few weekends later we decided to stop by on our way back to Suwanee. When we walked in, the restaurant had only a few tables, and the interior decor showed its age -- but that didn't matter to me. I was simply hoping the food would be as good as my acquaintance claimed. We were greeted by the owner, who was courteous and friendly, and handed a one‑page menu: Korean dishes on one side and Chinese dishes on the other. As a Korean, I naturally gravitated toward the Korean side. The selection was limited to about 20 items, but All the dishes were classic Korean comfort food. We ordered 돼지국밥 Dwaeji‑gukbap (Korean pork soup with rice), one of my favorite dishes, and 해물파전 Haemul‑pajeon (seafood and green onion pancake). Before the main dishes arrived, the server brought out the side dishes - and wow. They were exceptional. They looked and tasted like the kind of special banchan your grandmother would prepare just for you. These were not the typical side dishes you find at most Korean restaurants. A few minutes later, our main dishes arrived - and again, wow. The presentation, aroma, and flavor were all impressive. The food tasted authentic, homemade, and prepared with genuine care. The broth was genuinely authentic, rich, and deeply comforting - the kind of flavor you can only experience in a traditional outdoor market back in Korea. The choice of pork cuts was perfect, tender, and full of depth. And from that moment, I was hooked. Since then, whenever I commute between Georgia and Tennessee - whether heading to work or returning home - I make it a point to stop by this restaurant. It has become a reliable, heartwarming part of my travel routine.

It sits in a hideously plain building, but the lighting and decor inside are just right for this kind of establishment: modern light shades through which colored light bulbs shine and classic stone on the walls that reminded me of a wall in a rustic garden. Tokyo had two of my favorite things: jasmine tea (on the menu) and automatic paper towel dispensers (in the bathroom). I was satisfied with the speed of the service, and dirty dishes didn't stay on my table long. However, the server just wasn't nice...at all, really. She was very brusque, simply demanding, "You know what you want?" instead of actually greeting me after I sat. I ordered shumai, the steamed shrimp dumplings. I've had better, but I was happy just to see them on the menu somewhere in Calhoun. For my entree, I asked the server for her suggestion. To her credit, she pointed out something I'm sure most southerners would appreciate: fried sushi. Unfortunately, that's not what I like, but I tried it anyway on her recommendation. I got the dynamite roll. Ironically, it wasn't spicy at all. It contained tuna, salmon, white tuna, avocado, and green onion, and the roll was topped with three mysterious sauces and shredded crab meat. (I was especially appreciative of the crab meat.) I shouldn't have ordered a fried roll, knowing I wouldn't like it. After eating the first two pieces, I picked the fried part off like a child. I really enjoy raw meat, so I think I'll try something else the next time I go. I can't justify abandoning this place (even though the less-than-cordial service might encourage me to do so) simply because Japanese food is a rarity in Calhoun. All I'm asking for is a smile, people.
