China Garden is our only Chinese restaurant we would ever have here. Their egg rolls are to die for! Food is always hot and fresh. I always refer family and friends to China Garden!!!! Should have been a clue to not order Togo food from here when no one was in the restaurant. We ordered eggrolls, beef and broccoli and pork lo mein. We got home to eat, we were starving after a very long day of exploring downtown, and they gave us no rice with our beef and broccoli, after on the menu it said it came over rice. The lo mein was not lo mein noodles but really thin noodles. Eggs rolls were ok, but then again all fried food is usually ok. We came back the next day to let them know we didn't get any rice with our order and the guy said it doesn't come with rice. We looked at the menu together and it said beef and broccoli over rice. He then proceeded to tell me that it doesn't come with Togo orders only dining in the restaurant. But that's not what the menu said that he gave us to order from. At a function last night, live in town, walking home, we decided to get a few egg rolls, we ended up deciding to buy a dinner for one for two. We always eat there! Something's changed! What you would expect from a "Chinese Canadian food" restaurant. Good service. The food was plentiful and tasty.

Came here after a late night of sight seeing, around 10pm. Plenty of seating. Waitress was very polite, and prompt with requests, and our order. Food arrived in adequate amount of time. Everything was hot and delicious. Usually when eating out we have leftovers to take with us, but there was nothing left over and we left stuffed. read more

Was recommended this restaurant in the summer of 2020. Had food delivered & it was delicious. Fast forward a year & I was on Island & was looking forward to going there. I was warned about going there based on all of the bad reviews. I thought that I would still go. They opened at 4pm & I called shortly after to see if they were allowing people to eat in & was told yes. Three of us arrived at 7pm, the door was open so we walked in. There were no customers in the restaurant which should of alerted us to what was about to come. The owner & a staff person were behind the counter but did not greet us. We stood there until they noticed us. The owner approached us & said that they weren't taking anymore orders. I have eaten in thousands of restaurants over my lifetime & couldn't understand what she was saying. I asked her what she meant & she said that they had to make batches of egg rolls. I was still in disbelief & asked how long that would take. The owner went in the kitchen & came back & said 45 minutes. We left. This is a Chinese restaurant. Egg Rolls are a staple. How can you open the restaurant at 4pm, be out of one thing at 7pm & have to close down the restaurant because of this. Worst Chinese food I have ever had(I'm Chinese), it's just sooooo bad. Please stop going there people.

We had ordered take-out at 6:20 on a Tuesday. we saw that they were busy so we understood that there would possibly be a long wait. that was fine. anyway at 7:00 called the person I had sent to go pick up the order said that they haven't heard anything. we left a call back number for them to call to let us know that our food was ready. after hearing that there was no sign of our food we decided to call the restaurant to see if our order was complete because at this point it has been about an hour. the owner (Gordie Clow) was the one who had picked up the phone and said that it would be about 10 minutes more and it should be ready. that was at 7:30. 8:00 came and we were all just so fed up of hearing excuses from the owner. we had called back to cancel the order and Gordie Clow was the one who had picked up the phone again and i have to say i have never met such an ignorant, rude, stuck up person. and this is the owner for crying out loud!! oh and by the way, I called the Chinese restaurant across the street, put the same order in and made it home in less than 25 minutes. You get what u pay for. It's drunk ppl food. It's hot and greasy and salty and strangely delicious. You cannot party in Charlottetown without coming here after. It's a part of the whole experience to eat late night terrible food here and I love it! read more

I just ordered a combo with sweet sour chicken balls chicken fried rice, lemon chicken and egg role. I opened it at home it looked really bad but I hadn't eaten all day and I figured I'd give it a try besides I always say hunger is the best sauce. Everything besides rice was deep fried in really old oil and my god there was so much batter socked in cooked in oil I'd say well bast it prime because it all had the same dirty oil taste. The rice was obviously mixed with old and new rice, ( I could tell from the look and taste). The egg rolls had a weird taste of like seating in a fridge too long with other food open and also had the same old greese taste as the rest. Constant at lest.lol. But seriously after about 9-10 bits my stomach started to cramp up and felt off from all the greese. Oh yes and also the lady that range in my order gave me the wrong change. Any grown up should be able to minus $16 from $50. Especially if you own a business. $50-$16 Is not $26 it's $36. Then when I told her she acted like she really had to think about it. ( come on). i dont know why on earth i returned after they forgot half of my meal from my take out bag, but i went to go pick up more take out last night and get the previously paid for food that was never received. i thought the man working cash was just rude. he wouldn't give me the egg rolls that have been paid for, for MONTHS that they for some reason will fight tooth and nail not to give me. all he did was give me attitude. I ordered Kung Poa chicken and when the dish was delivered there was a total of 6 pieces of chicken, not what I was expecting! When I asked about why so few pieces of chicken I was told that was the way this dish is served every where. The owner was argumentative! Just don't bother. We showed up and waited 25 minutes for someone to take our order, after 2 staff brushing us off when we asked for our server. The food is no where as good as Canton Cafe!! Unfortunately, it is the only Chinese restaurant open until 2AM and since i work late nights that is usually when I am ordering food. I called at around 130AM and the man said it would be 30-45 minutes, an hour and a half later i was still waiting. At this point I couldn't call them because they were closed I waited 2 hours and they never showed up. Thankfully Dino's was open!! Very angry with China Garden. read more

Went there for a late Sunday dinner. The server was very polite, the place was empty. They were prompt with our order; got vegetable lo mien and Lemon chicken. Food is greasy, not the best Chinese yet tasty in a strange way. Their portion sizes are big enough for next day lunch. Go there if you have exhausted all your other options. read more

The worst customer service experience of my life. I ordered take out over the phone. I went and picked it up and when I took it out at home I realized they left out 5 egg rolls. I also noticed they didn't even write it down on my order. I drove back and told them about it. The guy at the cash said to a waitress. "Hey, go tell the kitchen to give him 5 egg rolls, you messed up his order". No apology. I said "Remember I said add 5 extra eggrolls?" She acknowledged but still no apology. I did not see her again. 15 minutes later an older lady (I'm assuming manager or owner) comes out with my 5 egg rolls and motions me toward the cash. I took the bag and went to leave, she said "you must pay". I was shocked "Really? The rest of my meal, which I already payed $48 plus tip for, is sitting at home getting cold for the last 30 minutes while I drive back her and wait an abnormal amount of time for my egg rolls and you want your $5?" Her response it "You did not pay, we forgot to charge you" I argued with this unapologetic person for one more minute before I decided they didn't appreciate my business and said "Forget it. This is ridiculous. Keep your egg rolls." and left without them. Again... still absolutely no apology for their mistake and my inconvenience from all 3 of these people who have no place in the hospitality industry. I told some friends about the experience and one of them told me about the time they were served moldy chicken balls there, and when they didn't eat them and refused to pay for the chicken ball, the manager threatened to call the police on them.
