The food and service are awesome there. I love the taste so much and I'm Chinese. They have the amazing szechuan style menu and all of the items remain very original real Chinese taste. Also the environment is very clean and everything is organized so well. I've tried other Chinese restaurant in Lubbock but only this one really surprises me and made me and my friends fall in love with it. The girl at the front was BEYOND RUDE to both us and all of the customers in front of us. When we specifically told her all of our orders were the daily special, she told us no and proceeded to roll her eyes at us for asking to be given what we had ordered. We've ordered from this place before. My typical Chinese comfort food is BBQ spare ribs, soup and Roast Pork Fried rice. They seem to be the only place in Lubbock that has those options... many don't want to invest in the special oven and venting that they require. While I'm pretty pleased (though not thrilled) with the taste of the food, my beef is the size of the entrees vs the price. The PR fried rice, had all rice, very little meat and no other veggies at all. The Ribs come with 3 instead of 4 or more. So for the price, I expected larger portions. I won't go back just out of principal. I'll go back to Dallas for my Chinese comfort food. read more

This is the 3rd time ordering from here and I don't know why I keep doing it. I always thought a 3rd time would be a charm but nope. This time I ordered the Mongolian triple delight which contains jumbo shrimp, beef, chicken, green onions and sweet onions. I ordered online and asked for no sweet onions or green onions because I personally dislike onions. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. I think the person who's in charge of the online orders is either blind or illiterate. I opened up the container to see onions!! I asked for no onions and they still put onions. The whole dish is mostly onions. Like where's the meat?? The shrimp which said were jumbo shrimp are small baby shrimp. Misleading! And there were only 4 shrimps. Not worth the money at all. Most of their dishes, the ones with vegetables, are mostly filled with vegetables. So don't expect a whole lot of meat. So even when you ask for no veggies, expect veggies. The only reason why I give them 2 stars is because of their fast delivery service and their fried dumplings aren't bad. Y'all need to improve!! I'm never ordering from here again. read more

Underwhelming. Everytime I move to a new place, I try to find that one Chinese restaurant that will be my go-to when I have a craving. It just so happened that this one is 5 minutes from my house so I thought I would give it a go. First of all, they have a lunch special that is super cheap but it is only from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekdays only. What the what?! Who is at home during the week to take advantage of that? So because it was the weekend, I was left with the choice of paying full price. I I called to place my order and the girl who I spoke with had a hard time deciding whether or not I could replace my rice with steamed vegetables. She told me that it would not be a problem and would not cost extra so I was happy. I went to collect my food and they literally gave me less than 4 ounces of steamed vegetables! So, I had a few bites of veggies with a ton of General Tso's chicken as my order. After paying the full price I don't think that it was worth it. I've never been to a place where I was unable to get some sort of special at least until 4 p.m. I will not be going back and I continue to look for another place to get good Chinese food. read more

I'm so glad that my fiancé found this place! It's a small restaurant, but the food is authentic Szechuan food. Ask for their Chinese menu! I can't read Chinese, but the employee at the register described each of the dishes to us, and we only ordered dishes from that menu. They had chicken feet, cold noodles, steamed fish, and tons of other authentic Chinese dishes. We ordered a cold yellow noodle dish, and it was spicy and delicious! I'd definitely get that dish again, and it's really good as leftovers because you don't need to warm it up. We also ordered their Szechuan beef dish that came in this huge glass bowl. On their regular menu, I believe it's called boiled beef or something like that under their specialty dishes. It had napa cabbage, chili, spices, and tons of chili oil. Both of these dishes had a lot of oil in it, which is how Szechuan food typically is made, so if you don't like spicy and oily dishes, I'd recommend trying something off of their regular menu. While I am still getting used to the difference between the Chinese food in hometown Austin and in Lubbock, I thought China Express was quite good. My sister and I shared the Szechuan chicken and fried rice, fried dumplings, and pork egg rolls. The Szechuan was good, but could have used a dash more of garlic or salt. We both really liked the dumplings and the egg rolls as they were both very crispy and tasted great. I will go back to this restaurant in the future, but perhaps I will try something new next time! read more

Pretty good. We had the General Tso and Sesame Chicken with fried rice and lo mein noodles. The rice was as expected. The lo mein noodles were pretty good. The chicken was ok, a tad on the soft side. If you're looking for good quality Chinese food, that also delivers, this is the place to go. I enjoy everything that I've ordered. My favorites are the garlic chicken and the Hunan pork. Although they close at 10pm, they won't take any delivery orders past 9:30. They could have better presence on the phone. They have been a little short and seem unwilling to answer the phone. A little on the expensive side but I didn't eat it all and had enough for another meal later on in the day. We have tried a few Chinese food delivery places and they are okay. China Express has by far been the best as have tried. The food always comes hot and fresh and the portion size is very large. You will get a big plate of just the meat dish that you ordered and a carton of rice on the side. The flavors have been spot on with everything we have tried. I don't know where the other people that reviewed this place ate, but this place is disgusting. Very dirty to begin with. My wife ordered the beef and broccoli. The beef had a refrigerator taste. All she ate on the plate was the broccoli. The rice had a very weird taste. I am telling, light fixtures are broken, the floor is gross, the lid to the trash can that you push to help them out and dispose of your own trash had food all over it. And you could tell the food on the trash can door was days old. I should have walked right out the door when I arrived, but I thought that surely that many reviews couldn't be wrong. First off, let me say that if you haven't eaten off of the menu inside that is in full chinese, you are missing the best part of this place. Their americanized food is pretty good, not the best in town, but they have amazing authentic chinese dishes. Having been to china on two separate occasions now, it is safe to say this place excels in replicating the flavor of the food I had there. Unfortunately I cant read chinese so I either ask what each item is or just order something random and see what I get. I have never been dissapointed, and have tried the pork belly, the minced pork and tofu dish, a delicious beef soup and a few appetizers. I wanted Chinese food while watching a new show on TV. I live at Frankford and 4th, so I thought I could get quick delivery. I was told on the phone that it could take 30-40 min on the phone. Either way, I figured once the food was done, the drive to my place would be short. I should have just skipped my show and drove the 2 min to get there because my food showed up an hour later. To top off the fact that I had to alter my order to get over the $15 threshold, the driver did not have proper change when he got to my door. The food itself was like warm and soggy as if it had been sitting under a warmer for a while. And the taste was mediocre at best. If you decide to try this place, do NOT get delivery. Once the business gets going, maybe the delivery/quality of food will improve. As for me, I'm never going back and WILL NOT recommend it to my friends. read more

We just picked up a takeout order that included an order of MooGoo Gai Pan. It was obvious that it had been previously cooked and frozen, as the sauce was still gelatinous and un-melted and the chicken was not thawed out yet. Either that or it was undercooked. The dish was icy cold and slimy. And I mean SLIMY. We are now at risk of food poisoning for eating meat at an unsafe temperature. Gross and unacceptable on so many levels. read more

When I ordered take out and it took about a good 10 minutes to get my order out which wasn't so bad. However when I got home and ate my food( orange chicken and noodles) I could taste that the orange chicken they gave me was old and warmed up and the noodles were greasy.
