But it being in a plaza theres always parking, just not right in front like some people prefer. they serve very generous portions of your order. I had the chicken lo mein and it was great! My sister had the chicken fried rice and she really enjoyed it also! The service is good, it's set up like a fast food place. You walk in, order and pay at the register, then seat yourself and they bring the food out to you. Service was super friendly and helpful! I put in a rather large order, and it was no problem to them. I waited about 10 minutes or so and walked out with fresh and overall yummy supper. The portions are generous and we definitely had leftovers. The lemon chicken was good, as was the kung pao chicken and broccoli beef. The lo mein was tasty, but the noodles were a little soft for my personal taste. (But that's me) the veggies were a perfect tender/crisp, and the meats were tender and cooked through. the chicken looks and tastes like McDonald's McNuggets. The Mongolian beef I experienced was far below average, and lacking in sauce and flavor and just wasn't enjoyable at all I threw away the other half because I'm not sure what I was putting in my body. If you have literally been anywhere outside of lubbock this place wouldn't survive, also the rice is undercooked. Tried again today with my wife. She had the Fried Chicken with 5 Seasonings, I had the Hot & Spicy Szechuan Chicken, and we shared a small order of Zhong Dumplings. Everything came very promptly and was a good portion size. My chicken was pretty spicy, it had chicken, peanuts, green onions, LOTS of dried red chiles, and a light sauce. My wife's chicken was very tasty with some unique flavors from the spices, though it was a bit salty. Both entrees came with fried rice. The dumplings were very good with a pork filling and coated with a chile oil sauce with some green onions and other spices on top. All of these items were ordered from there authentic menu. My boyfriend and I love the food but I think they have a habit of closing during hours of operation. Which is a bit disappointing because I would love to come every week or so. I was a fool.... My girlfriend and I were so excited to try the new Asian place by her house. Thoughts of delicious glazed meats and steamed rice as white as snow danced through our heads as we walked through the door. The young man at the front desk was friendly enough. Didn't say much but was happy to take our order. After a short wait, he brought us a warm brown bag. Mmmmmm hot and spicy pork. The scent drifted up to our nostrils like a siren song leading our boats to jagged cliffs. "A little heavy on the celery" the long ago disregarded review rang in my head... Pleading with me to turn back. I shook it off. How bad can it be? We were in blissful ignorance... The last thing I remember before waking bleeding and up half covered in celery was opening the take out bag on the kitchen table and glancing at my smiling beloved.... Then only celery. Celery every where... Then only darkness. When I finally came to my senses the room was filled with celery. The walls were covered in what appeared to be a mixture of blood and brown sauce.... And of course, more celery. After digging my love out of what was almost a green stalky tomb, We searched frantically for the hot and spicy pork that we supposedly ordered. This is the best Chinese food in Lubbock! I've tried a few other places around town and China Express wins, no contest. I've only been 3 times in the last 9 months, but the lady who takes the orders at the front always remembers me and greets me like a good friend. It's just a really nice touch and their customer service definitely won me over. I've ordered a few things here and all of them have been very good and made fresh. With Chinese food (or really, "Americanese" food), I notice that what is called szechuan chicken in one place may not be remotely the same dish at another, so I have ordered one or two dishes where I received something completely different than what I expected, but it's all been delicious. Honestly, that's my fault for not asking about a dish before ordering. I've had the Kung Pao, Szechuan chicken, and most recently the sesame chicken. Portions are quite large and can be split between 2-3 meals. You definitely get a good value here. Highly recommend! read more
