Formal Complaint Regarding Our Experience with Norse Atlantic Airways…read more I want to share the horrific experience my wife and I had while flying with Norse Atlantic Airways from Rome to New York, a flight of approximately nine hours. My wife is six months pregnant, and as you can imagine, sitting for an extended period of time has become increasingly uncomfortable for her. I had originally purchased a Premium ticket because I was extending a business trip, and my wife decided to join me. As a result, she was traveling on a regular ticket and was seated toward the back of the aircraft. Before boarding, we spoke with the staff at the gate and were given the option to upgrade to Premium, which made us aware that there were Premium seats available. Once I boarded the aircraft, I explained our situation to the flight attendants. I specifically explained that my wife was six months pregnant and would likely become increasingly uncomfortable during the nine hour flight. I asked whether, if there were unoccupied Premium seats after takeoff, she might be permitted to move up so that she could be more comfortable. Instead of showing any understanding or compassion for the situation, the flight attendants immediately focused on charging an additional $350 for her to move to Premium. At the time, there appeared to be approximately 6-8 unoccupied Premium seats. I understand that airlines have policies regarding seating and upgrades, but the complete lack of flexibility or consideration for a six month pregnant passenger was extremely disappointing. The flight attendants also pointed out that I had a Premium seat while my wife was seated toward the back. I explained that this was originally a business trip and that my wife had decided to accompany me. They then suggested that I simply switch seats with her which, ironically, was exactly what I had intended to do all along. I had simply hoped that the crew might show some compassion and allow my pregnant wife to sit in one of the clearly available Premium seats if the seats remained empty after takeoff. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Immediately after takeoff, I switched seats with my wife. A short time later, I wanted to check on her because I knew she was becoming increasingly uncomfortable from the swelling and pressure associated with sitting for such a long period of time while pregnant. As I attempted to walk toward the front of the aircraft to check on her, I was stopped by the flight attendants and told that I was not permitted to go to the front. I simply wanted to check on my pregnant wife and make sure she was okay. Rather than showing any understanding, the flight attendants became increasingly stern and unprofessional. I was ultimately given three options: 1. Return to my original seat in the back. 2. Pay an additional $350 to upgrade. 3. If I did not accept either option, they threatened to involve the authorities. I found this response completely disproportionate to the situation. I was simply trying to check on my six month pregnant wife during a nine hour international flight. The situation became even more disturbing a couple of hours later. Because we had left our respective bags at our original seats so that we would not have to repeatedly disturb other passengers, my wife came to the back of the aircraft to check on me and retrieve something from her bag. As soon as she did, a flight attendant yelled at her and ordered her to return to her seat. Shortly afterward, the same flight attendant followed her to her seat and told her that she had better have gotten everything she needed from her bag because she would not be permitted to leave that section of the aircraft for the next eight hours. The flight attendant spoke to my wife in an extremely rude and aggressive manner and threatened that if she got up again, the authorities would meet us at the gate. My wife was so upset by the way she was spoken to and threatened that she began to cry. This was particularly disturbing given that she was six months pregnant and was simply attempting to retrieve an item from her own bag and check on her husband. Her food was also with me in the back, and she was unable to access it even though she was pregnant and hungry. In addition, we couldn't eat the plane food because we keep kosher, so the food was a necessity for her. We were essentially prevented from even checking on or assisting one another because we were seated in different cabin classes. The entire flight crew was made aware of the situation, and I was treated as though I had done something seriously wrong simply for trying to make sure my pregnant wife was okay. I was effectively singled out by the crew for the remainder of the flight. There was also no Wi-Fi available, meaning I could not even message my wife to check on her. This experience was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. What should have been a straightforward situation involving a pregnant passenger who was becoming

This caused our 3 hour layover to our connecting flight to become a 30 minute layover. It was absolutely ridiculous...how are we supposed to go through immigration, grab our checked luggage, and recheck it in. All to take a train and then bus back to the front of the airport. To go through airport security all over again. Mind you we had to run to our gate since it was the last gate of course. This was just a crazy experience to go through. There should be more organization for individuals who are trying to get to a connecting flight. Maybe another line that specifically says connecting flight, in order for the process to be sped up. All of that to get to our gate and find out that boarding was delayed.... Once we got to FLL airport, we went to get our checked luggage to find out that my friend's duffle bag was as still in Newark. Mind you her bag was the first to be placed to get checked back in. Luckily they shipped it the next day to her house. But she should've received her bag right after deplaning just like the rest of us. I'm disappointed but relieved that my friend received her duffle bag in one piece.

Unlike terminal 2, which has the lounge. Either way it didn't matter much to me given the time of my flight. When I boarded the plane I was shocked the flight attendant came to show me how to navigate my seat. I have never gotten this from neither Polaris nor Singapore airlines! We were always left to figure out how the seats work on our own! It was refreshing! She was so kind and friendly. I felt really welcomed. I opted not to eat anything and fell straight asleep right after takeoff and lay flat my seat. It was a very comfortable ride. And an extremely smooth landing. Kudos to JetBlue you definitely have won over a new passenger!

SERIOUS WARNING -- JETBLUE VACATIONS & CHASE…read more Our experience with JetBlue Vacations on June 19, 2026 was extremely disappointing. We paid in full in May for a package including a flight from New York to Los Angeles and an eight-night stay at the Orange County Airport Hotel in Santa Ana, CA. Before arriving, we called the hotel to advise that we would be checking in late, only to be told they had no room available and not to come, despite our prepaid reservation. When we tried to resolve the issue, hotel staff were rude, dismissive, and hung up on us. We immediately contacted JetBlue Vacations, but despite repeated assurances that they would resolve the situation, they took no action. After 1:00 a.m., we were forced to find another hotel ourselves at approximately 2:00 a.m., pay a last-minute rate, and incur duplicate hotel expenses. After weeks of communication, JetBlue still failed to make us whole, leaving us approximately $700 out of pocket, plus significant stress and lost vacation time. We then disputed the charges through JPMorgan Chase and provided documentation proving we had prepaid for both the flight and hotel and that the hotel accommodation was not provided. Chase ultimately told us that Visa declined the dispute. Despite our documentation and repeated requests for assistance, we felt Chase failed to advocate for us or protect us as customers. Our warning: Think twice before booking through JetBlue Vacations, consider avoiding the Orange County Airport Hotel, and carefully research Chase's dispute-resolution process before relying on them for significant travel purchases. We paid for a vacation and did not receive what we purchased. JetBlue Vacations, the hotel, and Chase all had opportunities to do the right thing. In our experience, none of them did.

FATTIES AND WOKE LISTEN UP…read more This is my second time flying Spirit and my first time flying it out of LGA. My first time years ago out of EWR was solid and I'm happy to report that they've only improved. Spirit is known for the nickel and dime bait and switch but reading is fundamental and they've seemingly abandoned their most pernicious policies. READ ON to learn how to get the most value of of this airline: They have a product called Spirit First which includes The Big Front Seat. It's the equivalent of a first class domestic seat on legacy airlines. Comes with unlimited free snacks, beverages, and alcohol. The seats are wide and pre-reclined. BUT WAIT - purchase of this experience also comes with a personal item, a carryon, AND one free checked bag. Gone are the days when Spirit would financially ruin you for having a bag that was 1/2 inch too long. I even have a specially sized Spirit duffel from yesteryear that was compliant with their old "underseat" baggage rules. Let it go - we don't need it anymore. They've normalized lol. Anyway no one sits in the BFS because Spirit flights are so cheap in economy class. The flight I took to Chicago would have been under $100 if I stuck to economy. However as I'm fat and value not getting DVT as I cross over the Great Lakes, I sprung for the full GFE. Listen to me: this same itinerary on domestic first class Delta would have cost me $805. On Spirit it was $337. Be cute if you want but there's nothing cuter than saving $500. In LGA, Spirit leaves out of Art deco Terminal A. When we pulled up I actually thought I was in the wrong place - I always thought Terminal A was for decoration lol. But it's the dedicated Spirit terminal. I got from my car to seated by the gate in 5 minutes. FIVE MINUTES. Bag drop was a breeze, security was done in an instant, and the gates are 100 paces from security. All of the airport staff and airline employees were super nice. On board the great experience continued. Fat and Woke Stuff: Traveling as a fat flier is so nerve wracking. Small seats, mean passengers, inaccessible everything. However the Big Front Seats restore dignity to the process. Be advised if you may need a seatbelt extender, don't book rows 1 and 3 of the BFS as those have inflatable belts. Spirit has a detailed webpage that explains this so PLEASE READ it before selecting your seats. Spirit had a bad rap in years past because of its money grubbing tactics. I think it maintains one because of how it has democratized cheaper travel esp on shorter routes - and people don't like those that they think do not "deserve" to move about the country or world freely. Let me speak plainly: Too dark and too poor. Notice how whenever there's footage of an in-flight fight or disturbance posted online people are like "MUST BE SPIRIT!" Whole time it's a flight somewhere in western Europe smh. My flight crew was mostly Black and Brown and returning to EWR on the way back, many of the passengers were as well. I dunno about you but being with my people makes me feel safe, seen, and cared for. This airline is an incredible value. The planes are new, staff is friendly, and the BFS rival any of the bigger players in domestic first class. The Spirit infrastructure is much improved too. There were tons of employees by the kiosks ready to assist and the app is simple to use. I will not hesitate to use Spirit First again for my trips to Chicago. Economy class, however, can go to hell. Ain't no way that little bit of seat pitch is safe.

Spirit is a great deal. You will find spirit beat most of the flights on Kayak. So if you find a…read morenonstop flight you will get a great deal. Plus if you're going out of LaGuardia Airport New York City, It's Terminal A and And even though it is an old Terminal and it did not yet go through Construction like the other terminals, I prefer it because it's smaller and there are not long lines and walk to TSA is very short. Spirit Airlines doesn't have the best or most friendly staff but they are getting better because I find that quality of the staff are not as professional or experienced. And the technology at the gates are old. For example they didn't bother to announce that a flight was taking off and due to already delays it was difficult to know what they announced if they announced anything bc it wasn't done over the loudspeaker and it wasn't posted on the screens. The LGA airport Spirit used to have the most rude and disrespectful TSA staff. For example they would yell at you for no reason and holler at you to "stand over there, put your hands up" and talk to you like you were a prisoner who just murdered your son. The attitudes and total bullying was widespread across the board for most of the female TSA staff including managers and thought it was ok to abused customers. So I complained 3x to managers in 2023. And one flight attendant - another female was so rude and yelled at me to close the window and I didn't know why I had to do it so I asked her nicely and she just sucked her teeth and shut it really forcefully in front of me. No manners or respect. And the Gates at Terminal A for Spirit are not cool in summer bc it's jam packed and not enough seats and not good food and not enough bathrooms and not many charge stations. But beyond all this the price of the tickets are pretty amazing so I can't complain esp after they upgraded all the seats to vinyl leather and it was comfy and new. No the seats do not recline but the seats are wide enough and if you buy a comfy first class type seat for $20-$75 depending on the flight, it's huge. Just pack very light and make sure your suitcase is as small as a backpack or you will be charged. See pic for a good guide on what you can count as a personal item for free. And make sure you prepay for a carry on item bc it will be much cheaper when you book the flight. At the gate it will be an added $75 or so. Oh and if you get upgraded to a better seat they have a middle seat blocked w a table. See pic. . I booked one way tickets on spirit in 2024 for $21 per person from Chicago to NYC (ORD to LGA). Can't beat that.
