Once upon a time, this place would have pulled 5 stars for me. Quick, accessible, and very tasty. While it still is all of these things, and I have never had a problem with the food. I've simply found a more convenient restaurant that I prefer (but when I'm west park this is my go to place!) That being said, the staff is amazingly friendly, the food is tasty and filling, and the prices are very reasonable, and the speed they prepare the food is unbeatable. It's definitely the best takeout-only place I've been to China Chef came about a time when I was searching for a really good kung pao chicken, and I kept running into foods that just did not match what I was used to from back in New Jersey. I found their food, especially their kung pao and their chicken and garlic sauce to be very much like I remembered from home so the nostalgia factor was heavy in my heart. Since Covid they have done their very best to maintain a friendly customer relation while keeping themselves safe. Their restrictive facade has become more open again but I don't knowing they will ever return to having a few tables you can sit at to eat. All in all I recommend China Chef for anyone in the area needing their fix! read more

The phone service was very polite and clear. The food was just not Chinese food. There was zero Chinese flavor. Everything was bland. Overall super disappointed as I spent over $130 on this food and it was so lackluster and flavorless. Depressing honestly. Fried rice (chicken and shrimp) the chicken was bland, looked like boiled chicken, the shrimp were large and plentiful, just bland. Lo mein (beef and shrimp) the beef tasted like it had been soaked in baking soda and very chewy texture. The lo mein was ok. Again plentiful shrimp, but no flavor. Beef and broccoli, the broccoli was fresh and well cooked, but the beef tasted like it was soaked in baking soda. Crab Rangoon, there wasn't any crab that I could find or even crab flavor Teriyaki chicken and beef on a stick, I do not know what this was but it was not teriyaki. No teriyaki flavor, no char or grill marks, and it was the weirdest red color. read more

Ordered delivery. The order was kindly repeated back with total. The delivery person called when he arrived as promised My General Tso's chicken is very tasty. The rice is bland but ok with the chicken sauce They lose two stars for the worst egg roll I have ever been served in the 30 years I have been ordering them. I'm not great with knowing what some of the Chinese foods are. Not only were there pictures of some of the plates, but the lady was very nice enough to explain some to me. I tried something new, Chicken Mai Fun. Which was really good and you got a nice amount. The chicken was very good, not dry. It was also with a thin noodle and veggies. We took advantage of the family deal, two people. That was defiantly worth the money since you get to pick two meals. The other we got was Cashew Chicken which was also good. Along with that we got two each of Wonton Soup, Chicken Sticks, Egg Rolls, Fried Rice, and a Fortune Cookie. We got multiple meals for a great price. The food was very good. Ordered through grub hub today and arrived within 25 min. I was super impressed with the food! The outside may not look like much but everything I got was delicious, hot and fresh. The lunch special is an awesome deal. You get an entree, fried rice, soup and a pop (I think? Mine was missing from my order) for about 8-9$. I had the sweet and sour chicken. They were perfectly crispy and white meat. Rice was great and had veggies which I love. Wonton soup was rich in flavor. The crab rangoons were also very good! Ordered through Door Dash today. Was not disappointed. The food was EXCELLENT. The sesame chicken and chicken with broccoli were both tasty and abundant. Also had chicken noodle and wonton soups and they were just perfect. If you are ordering for pick up or deliver they package their food SO well that it was hot when it arrived. This place was pretty good. Out of the three of us only one person didn't like their entree. I got: shredded beef combo extra spicy. Good but some meat was over cooked. The spicy was there though. The egg roll was soo good. My friends got fried wontons and crab Rangoon, big hit very yummy. Great place if you want to get sick. I used to go there a lot, but my son got take out from there and got the pukerinos. I figured it was just one of those things, but I got sick also. Quit going for a while, but I decided to give them another chance, and went in there one afternoon planning to order. One of the workers was playing with the children on the floor, and another worker brought out a tray of shrimp. They proceeded to shell the shrimp without washing their hands. Place has gradually gone down over the years. I've been ordering from them since 2006. Then tonight we got 3 orders of General tso's chicken and they layered rice underneath to give us less chicken. Prices been going up and portions going down. Time to find a new spot. read more

After 45 minutes of waiting for a wanton soup and general Chen's chicken I called to check the status on my order and they said they had just started making it. The food here isn't food anymore... the cookies in the front basket are stale and outdated and the food was rancid... the egg rolls literally had a bad odor and sour bitter taste and lastly I ordered sesame chicken which made me paranoid to actually u consume... it felt like I was eating all chicken tendons... I have ordered carryout from here numerous times and have never been disappointed.(they deliver) The people who answer the phone are always friendly and very helpful as I explain what I want every time and never know the name of my entree. The chicken noodle soup isn't the greatest, but the crab ragoons here are a must have every time! read more

I would like to rate this 2.5 out of 5 stars and here is why... My boyfriend and I ordered General Tso's chicken, Singapore chow mei fun, won ton soup, and the special house lo mein. Some of the flavors were there- but the meat quality is atrocious!!!! The "pork" was a big culprit- I don't know what they think they used in the won tons, but it definitely was not pork (after trying it, the rest was thrown away). The chicken was very sub par also. I can find a better quality meat at a fast food restaurant. I sincerely hope, even if it means raising the prices, China Chef increases their quality of meat! read more

Never again. Took them 1.5 hrs to deliver my food after ordering and every reeked of cigarette smoke because the driver must have been smoking in the car while driving my food all over. Not to mention the last thing he said to me was "its still hot". I guess everyone's definition of hot is different but due to the lengthy delivery time it was barely luke warm. never again. read more
