Loved the China Buffet when it was at it's old location. Now the only time I eat here is when I'm in the mood for take-out. Don't sit down and eat here. Order food to go! It is much better that way! My family staples are Chicken and Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Beef with Chinese Veggies, chicken wings, and crab rangoon. Everything is good every time! read more

Awww...why all the hating on China Buffet? Lived in Fairmont for several years, moved away now but business at times brings me back through town and every time my go to place for lunch is China Buffet. Ok, so you have to have the appropriate set of standards when you go to any Chinese food buffet, this is a BUFFET. The nice thing about buffets is the selection. Not sure you will like a dish? Take a small portion, try it, go back if you like, if not then no big loss. Not like you have to order a huge meal and end up hating it, move on to something else :) Big fan of thier cashew chicken - yum. They have a nice large rice cooker with white rice, and the low mein is the boss. Also the green beans are always tasty and not overly salty. I appreciate they have both egg rolls and spring rolls and several dipping sauces to choose from. Piping hot oolong tea, brewed stronger than most other places. I like the new location, decor is nice and service is always friendly. If you're in town, give this place a try. As far as Asian buffets go this place is very good! read more

1 star only because yelp won't let me rate it lower!!! Out of iced tea an hour before they closed, lady vacuumed the floor around me and even under the table at my booth while I was eating, that's just rude. Other staff seemed to be having a eat the leftovers right out of the steam trays party in the reserved section, mind you it was still 30 minutes before their posted closing time. Food tasted ok, but was only Luke warm. Do your self a favor and eat somewhere else, you'll be glad you did! read more

I like the food, sometimes the ambiance is not good. The "vacuuming lady" mentioned in another review..sometimes she stares at me. Other times she's nice. Sometimes the food is great, other times it's not..once the chicken was a little uncooked, but I've been there many times and that was only a problem one time, so I will give them a break for it. Maybe it was an off night or something. It's usually overall a good place to go, and I like the koi fish they have. read more

You know how you go in to a restaurant and the staff seems too desperate and over friendly? Lol I like it here comfortable do your own thing "eat"! They are always refilling the buffet asap! Just come eat and find out if you don't believe it! Btw they beat all the other Chinese buffet with their fish sticks. Taste amazing! You can actually taste how fresh and real fish! This place is dank nasty in the best way. Great food all around. Plus have you had their sweet and sour sauce? I could take a bath in that sauce. It is the best S&S I have ever had the pleasure to devour. Also the dish Happy Family is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. If you want a nice, clean, & affordable Chinese Buffet with good variety of food this is the place! Food is always good & the always fresh during lunch & dinner hours. They have 2 hot tables & 2 cold/dessert tables. I always get my fill here. If they had a few more high end buffet items I would give it 5 stars. Let's start off with the fact this is a china buffet not some fancy restaurant or cool sports bar, so make sure to set your standards to china buffet standards. Compared to other China Buffets this one is superior. My friend from Fairmont always said I had to eat there. If you're just passing through on I-90 not a bad place to stop. Had the usual buffet food for a Chinese Restaurant and it was good. Best part was the staff made sure nothing was empty so there was always plenty of selection and we didn't eat anything that tasted like it was sitting out there for a while. Had 4 lines with main courses, salads and desserts. Best part, they had a little koi fish pond and you could feed the fish. read more

when this place moved from the Hyvee building to the mall we thought that the food may get better . just the same heat and eat buffet food . walk into the main dinning area and find people preparing food on dinning tables right next to customers dinning. sure would be nice for a good chinese food but not in this place its just sweet slop they call chinese food. read more

This place used to be awesome...but both the food and the customer service have REALLY took a turn for the worse. The staff frequently look as though their customers are nothing more than an inconvenience to them. On my most recent visit we arrived 2.5 hours before their scheduled closing time. After we sat down with our first plates they came with a shop vac and started vacuuming right next to our table. They dumped out the tea decanters even though there were people still drinking tea. The food is frequently less than fresh or there is none left in the containers. If you present them with any type of discount or coupon they seem more apt to balk or argue than anything else. We were very pleased with this china buffet...the atmosphere was amazing everything decorated and the coy in the pond for the kids to feed was fun place for all of us. The staff were friendly and we liked the pay now enjoy your dinner way of doing things. Many places we have been the workers walk around a watch you double check the ages of your children for the prices of there dinners. The faucilty was clean and the food was fresh. For the price of this buffet I would defently recommend it to anyone who enjoys a quick meal these days you will pay more at mcdonalds. read more

I have no idea what the two reviews are talking about-We have been eating at this China Buffet for years. I have never seen them make food in the dining area and it is VERY good! We almost always eat during the supper hour and have been there at different times (around 6p-8p) and have always had great food and service. read more
