Every visit here brings a new culinary reward reward. This time the occasion was to celebrate our granddaughter's 7th birthday. Plus, this was at her request. Could have taken her anywhere without leaving Apple Valley but she was insistent. After this visit, as always, we don't mind the drive! The reason for a young girl's insistence? The luscious house made desserts! We chose a number of specials. Mine was a shaved sirloin sandwich which was tender juicy and with a deep beef flavor reminiscent of grass fed beef. The beef, like many dishes here is locally sourced. The beef, as with many of the meat dishes here, was from Welcome Meats, in a neighboring town. No picture of my dish exists, as it didn't stick around long enough... The first photo is of a brunch favorite, the eggs Benedict, with made to order hollandaise sauce, and ham steak. The second photo is of a featured salad with local strawberries, cucumber, beets, golden tomato, gruyere cheese, and toasted hazelnut pieces, covered with a deftly poured drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The third photo says it all about this establishment. It's a small restaurant, but offers beer (including craft beers) a nice, and affordable wine selection that includes bubbly and sake. Finally found my way here and boy, it did not disappoint! Can't wait to visit again! Okay, I finally was able to get here on a Wednesday for their beef commercials. So delicious! I have been eating to try the commercials for years but just never got around to it and it was so good! Of course, no visit here is complete without having dessert. I love this place. The service is legitimately the best; everyone is so nice and helpful. And the food is actually great. It's pretty creative but not weird, and some of the meals I've had there (I've been there a bunch) have been very memorable. I'll keep coming back each time I'm in town, guaranteed. Found this little gem of a restaurant as we drove down I90. Have never had this quality of food in a small town cafe. The small town of Sherburn is lucky to have this restaurant. I highly recommend the Piggly Wiggly sandwich and try the butternut squash ravioli, not to mention their desserts! Great place, a must try!!! read more

I was in town waiting for some work to be done on a vehicle. I chose to stop here and spend several hours instead of waiting at the shop. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered lunch, and was very impressed with the food. I believe one of the owners was cooking from what I overheard. Great little place with excellent food! read more

If you want great Service then this is the place to go our waitress Grace was awesome, but if you want great food please look elsewhere the cook and I say cook even though he calls him self a Chef can't even make a over medium egg right and the biscuits and gravy was gross! Then if your gonna say you have homestyle potatoes with Caramelized onions then make it right! I would love to know where he went to school at cause if he really did go to culinary school he needs a refund cause his food sucks!!!! The exterior, interior, neighborhood and overall vibe obscure a what is essentially a farm-to-table spot with dishes as inventive and delicious as any city-based restaurant of similar mission. We had burgers and the squash / Brussels side and it was incredible! read more

I went to the Cup N Saucer for lunch today w/ my 4 year old son. My wrap was yummy - very fresh ingredients. My son had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich w/ fresh crisp apple slices. They didn't have my son's first option of chicken nuggets but they were nice enough to make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and mixed up some chocolate milk. I was really excited to see their intriguing dessert options - chocolate mouse cake, banana bars, apple pie, rasberry swirl, etc. It is so wonderful to have a restaurant in our little town that has variety, good tasting food, and desserts to match. I hear they have a tasting menu once/month where the chef creates a 5 course menu to serve a seating of 30 one evening a month. I definitely want to get in on that event some month. read more

I grew up in Sherburn having the Cup & Saucer as the regular, ol' small town cafe where farmers met for their morning coffee and the menu had not change for probably many decades. Now that it is in Seth & Elizabeth's hands, the farmers still meet there for their morning coffee, but the menu has had a complete makeover. Sadly, I moved a few weeks after they opened. I "liked" them on Facebook and see their specials everyday. The french toast alone makes me want to move back! It's the perfect place to stop on a long road trip or if you live in any of the surrounding towns/counties, it is definitely worth the drive. Why not support your local, family-owned, know-where-your-food-comes-from restaurant? This is absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. Stopped by on my way though MN because a friend from the area had highly recommended it. It truly blew my mind. I had a lunch special (an orecchiete in cream sauce dish with local ramps, smoked sausage, red pepper flakes and lemon); a side of mashed rutabaga with parmesan crumbles, microgreens and a pomegranate glaze; and a rhubarb crumble for dessert (the rhubarb came from the chef's garden).
