We were kinda famished, since we didn't have breakfast before leaving home. Service : 3/5 At the time of our visit, we were the only customers dining in. This was shortly after 12 noon. Only 1 person working the dining area. Vaxx passport required, which is fine with us. Food : 2/5 We ordered : Shrimp & Veggie Lo mein $16.95, Combination #6 Lemon Chicken w/ Chicken fried rice and Chicken Chop Suey + 2 Egg rolls $13.95. The Lo Mein dishes at this particular venue are the pan fried noodles. If you ask for the "chow mein" this is the hard crunchy type of noodles. Lucky we were informed of this, since in our opinion the hard crunchy flour noodles suck. I usually normally see these hard crunchy noodles in some pre-pandemic Chinese buffets as a compliment topping to go with a bowl of soup. The Lo Mein dish was a tad on the salty side for us. As for the chop suey veg in the combo platter, it was unseasoned. Likely due to the chicken fried rice and lemon chicken all ready being savory and seasoned. Egg rolls were normal and common place, nothing really special, except they included duck sauce instead of plum sauce. Duck sauce is a big no no for diabetics. So we didn't even touch those. We basically just shared the #6 combo platter, even tho their combo platter offerings are intended for 1 person consumption. Drinks : 2/5 the water that they serve has a funny after taste, would not recommend asking for it. Stick with canned beverages if you can. If you are diabetic, that could be a problem..maybe bring your own bottled beverages if you intend to dine in. Portion Size Value for Money Spent : 2/5 The combo #6 platter imo is not worth $13.95 Since this is intended as a value oriented offering this should have been closer to $9.99. As for the Shrimp and Veggie Lo Mein, sorry but no, this is was not worth the $16.95 price point. For that money spent on the Lo Mein the portion size was too small. Considering noodles are relatively cheap ingredient. Shrimps used were just okay, not like black tiger shrimps or anything of that class to warrant the price. Worth repeat visit : Likely not going to return here, even if it is really the only Chinese resto option close to my brother in law's place.
