This restaurant is located inside of the Best Western. The Bishop of the name is Billy Bishop, the Canadian and Owen Sound born flying ace of World War II! It isn't related to the other "Landing" restaurants that are around Toronto. There is a patio that looks out onto the marina. It's very lovely but we were afraid of bugs so we stayed inside. We noticed that another group that was originally outside moved in after it got dark. You can catch the sunset here though, very scenic! Inside they have normal tables and ones with loungey leather chairs. You tend to sink into the latter so it makes it a little harder to eat unless you're sitting right at the edge of the table. These would be great if you're just having a drink. Service was good. The waitress checked in on us a few times and our waters were always topped off. The food was the part that fell a bit short. The maple pork medallions were the best thing at the table. I ordered a pound of wings which is supposed to be an appetizer but was quite filling for me. Interestingly enough, I had wings earlier that day and this 1 pound of wings had more wings than the other place, so at least you got a lot more in quantity. In terms of quality, I had a garlic parmesean sauce. The bottom of the dish was almost all oil - I have to assume that this is from the parm oil. It almost looked like butter but didn't taste like it. The wings were pretty dry inside and out. I also found a tiny tiny fly mixed in with the cheese. Not sure if it was from the patio door being opened so frequently. My friend was also disappointed in the chicken pasta. It was pretty bland and she had to salt it a lot to no avail. We wanted to try the dessert to see if the meal could be salvaged. We ordered the caramel chocolate cake. This cake had a hint of soap taste to me. My friends liked it though. If you want something a little different than a chain restaurant, this wasn't bad. It wasn't as nice as other hotel restaurants but it was fine for a utility meal. read more

The food was delicious. I ordered pulled pork and fries and the sauce was amazing. The fries were nice and crispy, some of the best fries I've ever had. The food came quickly and the waiter was very nice. We ate in the patio near a beautiful lake. I'm very satisfied. read more

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. The hotel/restaurant feels a lot like a nursing home. Weird vibe, not the restaurant's fault. Service was great! Tomato soup with toast, good. read more

Finally was able to hit Bishops Landing in Owen Sound... I've heard so much about the place and was so very excited to eat there... the restaurant is located inside the hotel inn on the bay-best western and walking in is very inviting and open to larger tables or two person tables... The greeting was very friendly and I must say our server went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy... The food was good not exactly what I thought I was walking into from the recommendations I received but very good all the same... the fish and chips were spectacular and everyone raved about the chicken curry as well as the deep-fried mozzarella triangles! I feel there were a couple opportunities for the future, one being a better quality chicken wing, I find chicken wings with a darker almost blood like bone tend to have a very irony taste or mineral taste and when the bones break it is a little offputting but the flavour of the sauce was bang on and delicious... the bacon wrapped scallops although very delicious are quite pricey for what you get....The special for the night was the chicken Parmesan which had all the great flavours you would expect from a chicken Parmesan but unfortunately the chicken had a bit of a rubbery skin underneath the breading which was also a little offputting... Like I said, this was still a great meal just a few opportunities for the future. We all left full and happy and what more can you really ask from a dining experience...and who other than two bars that I know of in Grey/Bruce County have DAB on tap! I would Highly recommend this restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly, attentive service, and absolutely delicious food. The Maple pork medallions were amazing as well as the curry I had the second evening. It's certainly a plus if you are staying in the hotel. Fantastic view of the Sound from the outdoor dining patio as well as from the inside. Also came here for breakfast which was equally as good. I would certainly come here again when returning to Owen Sound. read more

We love this place! Good food, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff. We had the berry salad and beef tostada as starters. Both were delicious. For main course we picked chicken Parmesan, grilled salmon, and penne arabiatta with shrimp and mussels. They were excellent!! For desserts you can't go wrong with their popular gluten-free cheese cake, pecan-flan, or carrot cake. My husband got a free dessert for his birthday. Thank you! read more

This was an amazing restaurant suggested by family. We went for dinner tonight and sat on the patio with a beautiful bay view, amazing service, and even better food. Being celiac it can be hard to find restaurants that offer more than 2 options, but this restaurant had plenty of options to offer. We started off with bruschetta - subbed gluten free toast, which was delicious. I then had the tomato pesto salad (alike to caprese + lettuce) with chicken and that was to die for! It was so big I couldn't finish the dish but it was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially celiac/gluten free diet. read more

I had an opportunity to stay at the hotel and was too tired to go anywhere so I decided to stay in and eat at the restaurant. I have mixed feelings about this place. The short answer is it's good and you probably won't be disappointed. They have very reasonable pricing and very good drink prices. The staff in in evening is great. All smiles and great attitude. The service is quick and attentive. They could do with more people but it's working for now. The breakfast staff is another storey. I should have went to Tim's. As for the food it's good. Not the Italian dishes an Italian would expect. People do not put cream in carbonara. If you do you are having Alfredo sauce with bacon. But this isn't an Italian restaurant so whatever. As I look around and listen I can see and hear everyone enjoying their food. I can actually hear several people say this is good. So if you are at the hotel it's a good choice to stay in and eat read more

We went here to unwind on a Sunday with friends. Server was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable about the restaurant's offerings. Fair selection of wine, beer and spirits, with local recommendations such as Maclean's and Cowbell beers, and Pelee Island wines. We ordered the rainbow trout and beef stew with puff pastry - both delicious, but stew had the edge by a mile. Dessert menu was impressive, but did not try. Beautiful view, will try to come back in summer when the patio is open. read more
