They don't usually take reservations ahead of the date but rather, they take it day of. However, since we were coming out of town, Tim made an exception for us! I found the Deep Fried Mac and Cheese especially addictive (since they were in cute triangle bite-sized pieces, crispy on the outside and still cheesy and creamy on the inside) before we left to return to Toronto, we grabbed one for the road! We also tried the mozzarella sticks which were awesome when you had them freshly made and the cheesy-ness and stretchy-ness just added to the experience! And no, frozen versions from the supermarkets aren't the same DUH! It will definitely be a place I will go to whenever I visit Owen Sound and I highly recommend all to try this place out! The cod and halibut was good but they had Alaskan white fish which I thought was amazing. This is the only place that I know can get this fish. This is a must try. The prices are reasonable. The chips and the sweet potato fries were really good too. We also ordered the shrimp platter. It presented well but nothing special. They ran out of the crab cakes so we will try that another time. Strict panic went through my body as my entire life was in my bag. We contacted the owner of the restaurant (Pam) and told her what happened. The restaurant was closed for the day, yet she drove over to the restaurant and found my purse . I cannot even explain the relief of getting my bag back. My concern with Harvey's, and all the other CARA businesses, is that they hire TFWs and will do…read moreanything to save a buck and often at the expense of hiring Canadians. Were it not for this concern I would probably eat more at Kelsey's Swiss Chalet, etc. This is the only Harvey's in Owen Sound I believe. It is attached to a Swiss Chalet and even hands out Swiss Chalet's pick up orders. From the look of it all the employees were locals and not anti-Canada temp Foreign Workers. So we proceeded to eat there. The Angus Burger was tasty, especially when topped up with double the everything. The Junior Burger (for $2) used the same bun and size as the other hamburgers, but just had a smaller patty. You know how certain Harveys hide their Junior Burger? Not here. There were quite a few customers and eat-in and drive-through customers, but the premises were clean and the line was moving quickly. I have to admit that I like Harvey's fries too, but the same cannot be said of their pathetic poutine, not that I have tried the latter since I last attempted it several years ago! As such, I am sure their Poutine Burger is both bad and a bad idea. Stick with the Hamburgers!
