I'm reviewing the all-you-can-eat brunch buffet for this newly opened little Italy location which…read moreis offered every weekend from 11 to 4pm. I have dined in the evening at their St Denis branch and had a great experience and I'm happy to report the brunch was equally amazing. If you've ever dreamed of all you can eat AND drink (yes, all you can drink beer and mimosas), then Saint-Houblon is the place for you. Although this restaurant is more of a bar,the food quality and choices are truly refined. They source their own locally greenhouse grown veggies when possible and offer a range of elevated dishes with vibrant colors and combinations. With over 24 beers on tap and seasonal specials, this is the best place to try variety. For $30 a person (price can vary depending on season, it was $25 in January), you can choose an assortment of eggs (regular, benedict, scottish), sausage, bacon, creton, salmon rilette, chicken & waffles, pancakes, toast, bagels, garlic potatoes, quiche, beans etc with all you can drink beer (any on tap!) and mimosas. Similar to how you would order sushi at an asian restaurant, you are provided with a menu sheet for the group and just need to list how many of each item you want to order. You can keep on ordering as much as you like. For me the highlight were the eggs benedict, served over your choice of veggies or meat and resting on a sweet bun, the sauce was so flavorful and the pulled pork or brisket (not sure what it was) was melt in your mouth. If you want to get your money's worth, stay away from waffles or pancakes, they were extremely filling. Everything else is delish!! Fun to come as a group then you can really sample every item on the menu.

Great place with good and accessible food and a very nice beer list. Good vegetarian choice…read more The only issue is that children are only allowed outside. Which mean summertime ;)

They have 6 combo deals ($11.00 to $16.49) if you order before 5:00pm and you get to choose your pupusa/tamale/drink. - Curtido and salsa roja - salsa was thin, watery style - Platano con crema ($4.50) - decent but could have been crispier and more caramelized - Combo #3 ($16.49) - 1 pupusa (de chicharron), yuca con chicharron and a drink (guayaba). Yuca was excellent and came with several chunks of fried pork - Combo #6 ($12.50) - 1 tamal (pollo), 2 pupusas (revuelta and de queso y espinaca) and a drink (horchata). Pupusas were tasty. Chicken tamale was moist and fluffy. Horchata was nicely spiced

Don't skip on the plantain and sour cream starter!! They give you a WHOLE giant plantain that's been cooked to super sweet and velvety perfection. I love these and they're really hard to find! This is now a super favorite spot just for these. Had the chicken breast plate which came with a large salad and rice + beans. The rice was super good, cooked way better than most places. The chicken had some spices on it but there wasn't anything too special about the plate. They have a lot of authentic drinks too, my favorite is Horchata which was spiced just right. Cinnamon and maybe some nutmeg in there. Perfection! The staff was very very nice too, although a bit slow at the end when waiting for a box. At the register, we striked up a conversation about plantains which was enlightening. I'll definitely be coming back for more papusas and plantains.

When I arrived, there was a short line, and as soon as I walked inside, the incredible aroma of rotisserie chicken filled the room. That's when I knew I was in for something special. I was told to order the wet hot chicken plate, so I did--and it absolutely did not disappoint. I also couldn't resist trying the famous chicken poutine. The flavors were bold, rich, and incredibly satisfying. The portions were enormous, too; there was easily enough food for several meals. Before leaving, I picked up a small homemade tres leches tart for dessert. It was the perfect ending to the meal. The cake was moist and delicious, and the caramelized burnt sugar on top added an amazing flavor and texture. I honestly wish Ma Poule Mouillée had a location in Detroit because this would become my monthly dinner spot without question. This place is the definition of "winner, winner, chicken dinner." If you're visiting Montreal, don't miss it--you'll leave full, happy, and already thinking about your next visit.

When we showed up and saw the line around the corner, we figured that it must be good. We waited in line for about 30-40 minutes, but it was a nice evening. (I assume that waiting in that line in the dead of winter would not be fun.) You can order to takeaway, but they have seating indoors. We opted to eat there because poutine is better fresh. I read that the petit was still quite large, so we opted to split the petit. We both agreed that was a smart decision. The poutine was good, but the flavor of the cheese curds was muted by the shredded chicken and choriço. Their signature dish is their Portuguese chicken, and so I'm curious how that tastes when it's not covered in poutine gravy and cheese curds.
