From the first call for a quote to the job beautifully completed, Chim Chimney was professional, prompt, attentive and creative. Our first encounter was with Elias, who thoroughly inspected and offered his expertise on design and what to expect. He was honest and didn't rush us or give us unreliable expectations. Initially, we just wanted a wood stove inserted into the "hole" where the old fireplace was. He kindly explained that this wasn't possible without dropping out the prefab FP, along with cutting out stone for proper clearance. Fast forward, Elias found that we had an old chimney to the left side of the unit that spanned from basement to third floor and out the roof. Long story short: in order to make this happen, we had to demolish the entire unit. We chose our stove and the flooring. Next appointment was demolition! Walks in Ben! This guy was the real deal! He was professional and courteous, but what we admired most was that he was honest! This wasn't the usual slam dunk job. Our house was built in 1980. Once demolished, we found all kinds of issues that needed addressing. The builder cut up the hardwood floor to meet the old FP, so there were odd gaps, the old side chimney was in the way! At first, Ben built out too far. We weren't happy. No worries! He came back, removed the frame and backing and built tightly around the chimney column. Throughout the entire process, they made certain all work was done to code! The initial quote never changed, even though wrenches were thrown in. What seemed like a nightmare, this company turned into a dream! They exceed our expectations and then some. I would highly recommend this company, as well as their employees and subs. The technician, Braden, arrived earlier than planned and performed a detailed inspection of our firebox, gas lighter, damper and flue. I knew that the fireplace had not been used much, and technician found everything to be in near compliance. There was one small item that needed to be addressed, and he took care of it. He pointed out a couple of items that we needed to watch, and provided tips on types of wood that is appropriate to use. Braden checked out the flue in the attic as well to make sure there were no issues. We plan to use them to clean out our dryer vent as well. read more

I called them & requested a quote to repair our chimney. The guy was knowledgeable just like the other to companies I called afterwards. Before he left he said I had to pay 99.00 him for the quote before he left. He said they would deduct it from the bill if I gave them the job. If I had know that ahead of time I would have moved on. I called 2 other companies and they didn't charge a fee. They both gave me a quote for the same work for nearly half the cost. Needless to say, I hired Alligiance Chimney & they did a fantastic job. The technician came early which was a good thing. After reviewing the issue, he started an inspection, he removed the components, inspected and then reassembled the fireplace. When I tested the operations of the fireplace, it worked extremely well. I also had my dryer ducts cleaned. Work was professional and timely. I waited 3 weeks for an appointment I booked online. It said $99 for a service call. I described that my gas fireplace wouldn't turn on and the pilot light wouldn't light. The day before the appointment, they called to tell me I'd have to pay $350 to have them clean the fireplace first, and then they could determine what was wrong, and then pay to fix whatever the issue is. If you look at it and say "it's dirty, cleaning it will fix it," I'd pay that. No problem. This felt scammy to me. You said you'd come for $99. To then tell me it'll be a $350 service call to clean a fireplace that doesn't even work left a bad taste in my mouth. Now we're waiting another 3 weeks for someone else to come. We may need new gas logs. It may just need a part, I have no clue. Somebody else is going to get that money. If they had played straight with me, I'd be paying them to fix it. Bad business practices. Don't say "we'll come inspect for $99" and decide you need more money before you even look at it. If you aren't going to be fair with me for an appointment, I don't want you in my home doing work. read more

Our technician came on time. However, he was unable to examine the top of our chimney. His camera did not extend all the way although when I complained he later changed his statement. He did not pick up cracked cement at the top and didn't pick up that a tree had grown into the cement. He was unable to explain why we had a carbon monoxide problem. However, he did try to upsell us a $21,000 stainless steel liner for the entire chimney. A second opinion we received from another company addressed all issues, corrected the cracked cement/tree limb and cleaned out the fireplace. We replaced the lava rock. PROBLEM SOLVED. Beware of this company for upselling, changing stories, and inadequate inspections. read more

ChimChimney just did our dryer vent. Ethan and Mike both were professional all the way and pleasant to deal with. They were here for about 1.5 hours and ran a vacuum and a rod through our line for about 30-40 minutes (it seemed). They said all vents are supposed to be under 35 ft. and ours was over 40, creating an unsafe condition. Since ours is one of 130 units in our condo complex and we haven't heard of any issues regarding an of the vents, we will live with it for now. But overall it was a good experience. The charge was a stiff $289 but the piece of mind of knowing the line is clear is worth it to us. read more

I don't understand these people. I had an estimate done. then was delayed in getting the work done. then when I called back they wanted me to pay for repairs up front. I signed a contract but was out of town. so I called back. had another estimate done. paid 50 % deposit. scheduled a date for repairs. they called me on Thursday to ask if they could come out FRIDAY PM instead of Monday. I said that would not work. I asked if there was another appointment available. they told me NO. no other appointments available. NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE? but this is a service company providing a service and I paid my deposit but you can't schedule me an appointment? I was told that they would Call Me. that's it. so they took my money and left me hanging. knowing full well that I am moving and need to get this done. very disappointed. read more

Found this company at The Southern Women's Show 2017. I knew my chimney needed cleaning so I was glad to see a company there. I never imagined I would have someone from management come to actually complete the service--Gene K. EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL!! Took time to fully explain what would take place and what was happening during each step. They are not out to push extra services on you that you don't want or need. VERY THOROUGH in the work and not just doing the bare minimum. Wish I had come across this business when we first purchased the home or maybe even before to have had a better idea of underlying problems. The recommendations provided afterwards were only what I asked for and nothing excessive. Gene is passionate about this company and it shows in how business is conducted. Customer service is excellent. Update: We had the initial part of repairs completed today--gutter cleaning and screens. Installers were professional and courteous. They showed us pictures of the entire job when they were finished. I did research before arranging job to make sure I had a little knowledge. Strongly recommend Chim Chimney. We have an asinine dryer vent in our condo. One company came out and said they couldn't clean it because they would have to get up on the roof and suggested giving Chim Chimney a call. Chris came out the next day and was professional, extremely hard working, and determined to figure out the mystery of our dryer vent. The first company that tried to clean our vent didn't wear any protective face masks or wear any foot coverings in order to not track any dirt into the house. Over the course of the last few days they have done everything possible to insure that my concerns were addressed and corrected. Everyone I have spoken to at Chim Chimney has communicated in a friendly yet very professional manner. Today 2 technicians came and replaced the entire dryer venting system. They sent out Trey and he was very professional, he explained everything that he was doing and why. Their cameras that goes up into the chimney allows you to see inside the chimney. We've been in our house for 13 years and had never had our dryer vents cleaned. When we decided it was time to buy a new washer/dryer, we decided it was also time to have our dryer vents cleaned. We called Chim Chimney and got a quote. They had a very competitive price and were very accommodating on the phone scheduling the appointment. When the workers showed up, they were very professional, on time, courteous and covered their shoes with shoe-covers. They explained how the process works, moved the dryer and other items out of the way, completely cleaned and checked the dryer vent and duct work, and then cleaned up the huge amount of lint that came out of the duct. We were very pleased with the job they did and would highly recommend them. I am beyond impressed and so happy we tried this company. We needed our 25ft vertical dryer vent cleaned out. Not only was Eli professional and explained everything with pictures but he also went beyond the call of duty in my opinion. Not to mention he found instructions inside our flexible hose that was never removed when the dryer had been installed last year yikes! Had a leak around chimney, but was not sure. Asked them to come out and see what the problem was. Jason sutton came out and before he even got on the roof was already telling me what needed to be done. Long story short they tell me I need this and that replaced costing over $900.00 and was told it would stop my leak. Thinking this was a little fishy I called a roofer. They found the leak it wasn't the chimney at all. And for $40.00 I had the leak repaired. So Jason Sutton and chim-chimney tried to charge me over $900.00 and that was not even going to fix my problem. I think they are a bunch of crooks. read more

Had a Groupon for a chimney cleaning, so I called Chim Chimney to schedule. They were able to find a slot two days later. Jason called to let me know when he was on his way-- a little early, so he patiently waited for me to be ready-- and I also received a call from the office to let me know. Jason was very professional and friendly; he thoroughly explained what he was doing, let me watch the camera as it went up the chimney and showed me what he was looking for, shared a lot of information about using and maintaining a fireplace (including best/worst places to buy firewood), and left the area as clean as it was when he arrived. A chimney sweep came on Dec 15 to inspect my chimney. I was out of town and I didn't get to speak with him personally. The report said DO NOT BURN without any specific explanation as to why. All I know is that he said he had never seen a chimney like ours before. When I asked for an estimate for repairs it was near $8000! So I just asked for a phone call from the chimney sweep so I could speak with him and understand what he saw. It's Jan 12. I've received several reminders from secretaries about paying my bill, but no phone call from the chimney sweep. The communication at that place is awful. I do not recommend them. read more
