We recently bought an older home in the greater Vancouver, WA area. No sooner had we moved in, we discovered numerous repairs that were needed, and/or would need attention over the months/years ahead. For example, we encountered quite a few electrical 'situations', such as...wiring not up to code on numerous outlets/switches; non-working dimmers and 3-way switches; smoke detectors that were well beyond their useful life; ceiling fans not working, and even GFIC's constantly kicking out. This is where Chilson Electric, Heating and Cooling came into play, and in particular, Nikki's outstanding administrative work in Chilson's office! She dealt with our Home Warranty provider where appropriate; immediately set up time sensitive schedule for Chilson's technician to come out for the work needed, and she followed up with me on the status of things, and any concerns we had, if any, via phone and emails. To Nikki's credit, she manages it all superbly well, in fact, beyond our expectations! On top of it all, she's so thorough, and is such a nice person to work with! Beyond the great work that Nikki has continued to provide, it wouldn't be worth much if the technician(s) they have can't properly diagnose the situation/problems, let alone repair them, in a timely basis, with the appropriate product(s)/solutions, etc., for the job. This is certainly NOT a problem with Chilson! We've had the luxury of working with Doug, an outstanding trained electrician with the wealth of years of experience in commercial and residential settings! He too, like Nikki, is down-to-earth friendly, and poseses a high degree strong work ethic to get the job done right, completing such work in a timely and professional manner! Aside from Nikki giving us a window when Doug would be coming out on a given day, Doug text's us to let us know he's on the way, and what his time of arrival will be to within minutes. I've been with Chilson Electric for a little over 3 years now. David the owner and CEO has installed LED lights in my kitchen, put in a separate line for my 1200W microwave using an existing circuit in the circuit breaker box plus put in a grounded plug in in the bathroom which didn't have a plug in at all, he installed a ceiling fan in my bedroom, and a new Ecobee4 smart thermostat. Both he and Mike...mostly Mike regularly do maintenance service on our furnace and heat pump. All in all they do a great job. I'm thinking of checking to see about having them install a wood stove in the basement to replace an old cook stove that isn't very efficient. Seems I always have some project. I recently met one of the new guys...Doug prior to having my smart thermostat installed. It's great. Very easy to control by cell phone and I'm thinking about getting An Echo so that I can use Alexa to control by voice. I have some other misc. projects I want to get done. Taking it one project at a time. They just started up service contracts this fall so that I can either pay for maintenance up front or make monthly payments which is really cool. Being one of their silver members I get extra discounts on other work like when I had the new thermostat put in. Very cool! I highly recommend Chilson Electric for all you folks in Longview. Absolutely the best experience ever! Chilson's Service Tech Michael was very professional, personable and responsive while diagnosing and repairing our homes heat pump. Also, the office staff, Nickey went above and beyond the norms to ensure a promp authorization from AHS was received.
