I was taking my family twice a week here over the summer. I filled up another buy 10 scoops , get one free card tonight. The owner gave me back the card and stamped an additional card and gave both back to me. I asked why do I need to save the card with 10 stamps , he told me it's store policy the next time I come in that is when the scoop is free. It does not say that on the card or anywhere in the storeMeanwhile there was a family of 5 that sampled about 24 flavors so he probably gave away a pint of free gelato. With my last date night being cut short before I give birth , my husband and I walked to Chillato which was near our house. Sadly they were closing up as their closing time is 10 PM but hearing that "the baby" wanted some gelato, the entire staff welcomed us in even if they were closed. Staff was so friendly and allowed us to try various flavors. Being attentive and so ridiculously kind to us is one thing but DAYUM! Those gelatos were on POINT! The chocolaty flavors were so deep and rich in flavor in all different ways, while the Sorbet flavors were unique and bursting in flavor that wasn't overly sweet or sour/tart. I'm not even an ice cream/gelato person so for me to devour my cone in 6 minutes means a lot!!! Temperatures are rising, time for some cool and creamy gelato . We ventured in on a lazy Sunday for a sweet treat. After sampling a couple of flavors, we decided on Coconut and the Salted Carmel Gelatos. You can stack flavors to your liking but decided on one flavor so I don't overload my tastebuds. Staff is very friendly, nice selection of flavors and they also sell candy! I was very intrigued with he gelato donut sandwich and thats what i went for! The donut was so soft and delicious, and the gelato flavors are pretty on point. I got creamy fig and nocciola (hazelnut) or however its spelled. I knocked a star for prices. I mean a milkshake is $10. Also the gelato isnt a typical one you might be used to. Its definitely lighter in texture, almost fluffy rather than thick. read more

Absolutely Delicious. When I take my family out to ice cream or gelato, I don't usually order. I'll usually take a couple bites from my wife and it's enough. I'm not much into sweets. If I buy my own cone I usually end up forcing myself to eat the bottom half. But, I had to try a couple flavors out at Chillato, and they were absolutely fantastic. Amazing gelato cakes! I haven't tried their individual gelato, but I found this place while searching for a shop that makes ice cream cakes. Not only was their cake one of the best ice cream/gelato cakes I've tried (coffee/hazelnut) , the customer service was superb as well. I was able to contact the store via email/text and the manager accommodated for me needing a customized birthday cake a few days after their season closing. Finally got around to trying this place after hearing about it last year! Walked over with my cousins as my special treat and I got the ferrero rocher and tiramisu on a waffle cone. My cousins got the cookies and cream, which is their usual go-to. The gelato was so creamy, not too swand honestly so satisfying. I did wish the tiramisu was stronger, but other than that, everything was good! The shop itself is super clean and has hand sanitizer at the front for you to use on your way in and out. Will be trying more flavors in the future! (Edit: 10/14/2020 - just tried their black sesame and coffee and both were really good! Instead of being called Chillato it should be called addicting or Dipendenza ((addiction in italian) I came here for an elite event and I was so blown away with this gem in Whitestone! I had to come back three days later and have MORE! I kept raving to my foodie in crime about this place! And he couldn't understand what was so Amazing about this spot till he tried it for himself! This little gem can become crowded very easily for the fact that it's in a great location across the street from a school as well as a church! But don't worry the staff is super friendly and amazing they make things smooth sailing! The young lady had showed me a new flavor called Basil and I wouldn't have thought that flavor would be good at all, but they PROVED ME WRONG! It has such a refreshing taste like mint leaf mixed with vanilla and I must say I am not a mint ice cream fan but that was delicious! I had ordered one of my favorite flavors that I fell in love with which was, lemon cookie, peanut butter and jelly and coffee all on a waffle cone! The flavors are all unique and amazing in there own way and the gelato is super creamy! If you haven't tried this place! Small shop situated across the street from JHS 194. There's ample seating and space to stand. Cakes, cake pops, gelato brioches, milkshakes, and coffee are available. A good mix of traditional and unique flavors are displayed and the flavors change daily. Don't be afraid to ask for a samples. Staff are nice and accommodating. My favorite was the Ferrero Rocher. It had crunchy Ferrero Rocher pieces in it which contrasted nicely with the creaminess of the gelato. Sadly, we came pretty late so most of the popular choices were gone. read more

my friend and i ordered an ice cream flight to share (we ate bits of it while exclaiming how good it was on the drive back home, and then put it in the freezer since we were full and finished up the rest later that evening - SO WORTH IT) and got to try several flavors. while i'm not sure if they'll all still be available (it appears the flavors rotate), i would DEFINITELY recommend the yuzu cheesecake, earl grey, key lime pie, and lemon cookie. we also tried the dalgona and ube, which were solid as well. while the first few were my personal favorites, my friend had completely different ones - this should give you faith that there's really a flavor here for everyone, since everything is good. the texture of the ice cream is perfect, the flavors are spot on, and you get a huge scoop of whatever you order. if you're in the area, i'd highly recommend dropping by - i'm excited to go back and try some more flavors soon! read more

Chillato is an Italian Gelato Shop located in Whitestone, my hometown. I've known about this place for a little while and was kept telling myself I'd make a visit sooner or later. Let me tell you that the gelato served here is out of this world!!! If you're thinking, 'oh this is probably just another ice cream shop', let me tell you that you're sadly mistaken! The owners and staff were all so welcoming and down to earth and gave us a brief history as to how their shop came to be. While I don't remember all the deets, I remember them saying how many years of effort they put into the idea, the shop and experimenting with each and every flavor. And to the owners I'd say that every single step and obstacle you've faced, has truly paid off!!! The owner had mentioned that there are about 65 flavors displayed on a rotating basis. I sampled literally every single flavor they had on display that night and my top favorites were Raspberry Cheesecake, Lemon Cookie and Ferrero Rocher. Anyone and everyone is bound to find a flavor they like.. sorry I mean LOVE!! There is not a doubt in my mind that I will back. By the way, the interior decorators have also done an amazing job!
