I was incredibly surprised. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great menu and price for what they offer. My wife and I shared a 3 Dog combo, with 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings. I couldn't help but try the pizza logs just for fun. I wish I would have taken some pictures but it was all eaten too fast. The hot dogs were loaded with the toppings we wanted, and although we tried 3 different ones, the Carolina one was our favorite. Sides were delicious. Placed order at the register and sat down to wait for food order. When it came, the french fries were limp and only warm, not hot. I felt like they weren't freshly made and were sitting under a heat lamp for a while because of how limp they were and NOT CRISPY. Have to be fair and say that the breaded onion rings were delicious. No complaints about the soft drink selection either. BUT the Carolina Dog was just average. I could have made one at home just as good. The yellow mustard squeezed on top is a mistake. In this area for an event. On the way back decided to stop in since it was on the way and the pictures made it look good. From the outside, you may think twice but once you see the nice mural and open the door, your mind will change. Nice seating area indoors although there are some benches outside and large screens showcase the menu. Very organized. A couple of large screens tv as well. The employee was great in explaining the special #2 which is add a hot dog for $3. Went with that. The fries were pretty good, a little too thin but nice flavor. The hot dog was excellent! Hidden away behind a bank off Highway 49 in Harrisburg sits the best little hotdog restaurant. Only open for a few months, this place was great. They serve up several specialty hotdogs or you can create your own. If you make it a combo you can add a side of your choosing and it includes a drink. The restaurant looks small from the outside but inside there is plenty of seating and they have a courtyard for dining outside in nice weather. You order at the counter and the staff was friendly and very kind when we asked a few questions regarding dietary restrictions of one of our guests. I've always been of the opinion that you cannot mess up a hot dog. But this place challenged that thinking to the max. I ordered two Carolina dogs. They should have been called Cole slaw dogs. There was more Cole slaw than anything else and it was bland. The hot dog under the slaw was tiny and lacked any flavor. If there was chili on it, I couldn't taste it for the bland slaw. This is my first time at Chill Dogs. My mom came here on lunch and thought it was so cute and fairly priced. It gives me the feel of a little vacation spot to get hot dogs, snacks and ice cream. Very clean and laid back atmosphere. They have 5 Hot Dog creations with toppings like cheese sauce, bacon, chili, slaw, and so on. They have sides like Mac & Cheese, French fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries and even Cole slaw. For those who don't like hot dogs, they have brats, chicken tenders, pizza logs, hamburgers t pretzels, and Mac & cheese bites. When you are done with your dog or "not dog" grab some desert! They have milkshakes, sundaes, "frostbite", soft serve ice cream and Hershey's hard ice cream flavors. Pretty nice selection of hard ice cream flavors too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. First off let me say the hot dogs were delicious. The onions rings looked so good but they were extremely greasy ( a puddle of grease in bottom of basket) and were not good at all. But the biggest problem I had with the meal was the price. You can see by the pictures what I bought along with a medium drink and it was 23 dollars!! Just wasn't worth it all. I heard Harrisburg had a new hot dog and ice cream spot so I had to check it out. I showed up on I believe their second day open during the dinner rush. The line moved fairly quickly and my chocolate shake was made right away and it was very good. Unfortunately that was the only thing I really liked. The onion rings were under cooked and had no salt and the mac and cheese bites could have been cooked a bit longer as well. The chili dog had too much mustard on it and the hit dog itself just wasn't my favorite. It would be nice if they had napkins on the tables as their hot dogs can be very messy. I did like the little table games they had lying around. I know they just opened, but hopefully they get better as I would like to see this business succeed. read more

This is a cool little spot that has hotdogs and ice cream. I tried the hotdogs today. I had the Smokey Tex which has bbq sauce, bacon, fried onion bits and shredded cheddar. I also tried the dinner dog that has fries cheese sauce and bacon on it. Both were good. The hotdog is good and I believe it's a Buffalo staple. The fries were excellent. This looks pretty on IG but it makes the hot dog unnecessarily messy to eat. Mustard is a condiment for the frank, and not the diner's face, hands, or shirt. Yelp Peeps- So went to ( Chill Dogs ) in Harrisburg today with the fam for lunch. - The food was at best OK, I really don't want to be too critical or "rip on" a new business venture, but here are my takeaways. (Staff was super friendly BTW) -Hotdogs, well I know they have the famous "snap" but really wasn't that impressed. The taste overall just seemed, well a hot dog with a bunch of stuff on it, that frankly ya could do at home. NOW, I understand this is a loaded statement as with any establishment. You go out not just for the food but the experience. But I'm sorry a Hot Dog is just a hot dog in my opinion. -Fries were crispy but had 0% salt on them, some may like that, but I found it odd that I had to add salt to my fries. - Onion Rings, literally just a battered O-Ring, no spices, no flavor and not fried long enough. -Chicken tenders were probably the star of this culinary endeavor, and they weren't anything special to rave about either. -Price Point, it's expensive to eat out, really anywhere, so it is what is it, but honestly felt a little short changed today for what we spent. Portion sizes could have been bigger too, just saying. That is all for now. Honestly, it wasn't worth it. The fries were cold, and the hot dog was nothing special the bun was cold too. I asked the girl at the counter what kind of meat was in the hot dog (pork and beef? Just beef? Chicken?) and she couldn't answer. I felt awkward for even asking. Since the hot dog is supposed to be their specialty, I expected more.
