Service was good, food was average and margaritas were over-priced. You're paying for the view which was nice.

Second visit to Next Door Beach Bistro and once again -- phenomenal…read more Last night I ordered the Beef Bourguignon with cream potatoes, and it was everything this classic French dish should be. The beef was incredibly tender, slow-braised in a rich red wine reduction with pearl onions and mushrooms. The cream potatoes underneath were smooth, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that sauce. Every bite was delicious. We started with the Filet Carpaccio, thinly sliced and topped with shaved parmesan, capers, arugula, and crostini. Fresh, light, and beautifully plated. The bar program deserves its own mention. You can order a vodka soda anywhere, but here they elevate every drink with presentation and detail. Instead of a simple lime wedge, I watched drinks come out with full lime rounds resting on the rim. My Chocolate Martini dessert drink was practically artwork -- topped with a dehydrated orange slice, chocolate shavings, orange zest, and crossed chocolate-dipped sticks. It looked incredible and tasted even better. Atmosphere is another win here. Guests ranged from cocktail dresses to casual beachside attire and somehow it all fit perfectly. That balance is hard to achieve, but they've nailed it. We sat on the patio (about 67°) and they had the panels down, which kept it comfortable while still letting you enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Even the hallway to the restrooms was lined with art -- thoughtful details everywhere. Some restaurants look great but don't deliver on flavor. Others taste great but lack atmosphere. This place does both exceptionally well. Dinner for two with drinks came to $131 before tip, which felt very fair for the quality of food, cocktails, and overall experience. Looking forward to visit number three.

Beef Bourgeon $31 Spaghetti squash with chicken $20 + $5 for chicken. A glass of Caymus Walking Fool $17. We chose to dine outside under the overhang and cooling fans that kept us cool and comfortable on this hot evening. Our server, Deanna was very personable like the funny family member we all have. As a group of 4, we enjoyed a variety of dishes and appetizers. The starters were the roasted hummus and also the loaded nachos which were beautifully prepared and so tasty! My fried shrimp basket had the most perfectly fried plump, juicy shrimp I've ever had. The chicken dishes were enjoyed by two and one had the fish tacos. The chicken breast used in their chicken dishes was a bit underwhelming, but they enjoyed it. The fish and shrimp were perfect! After our dining experience, we went to the rooftop to check out the bar and views. This place is already a popular addition to Flagler Beach with the elegant tabletops and fully stocked bar. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning as they get more experienced with this already popular restaurant. The menu is a bit limited, but their offerings are pretty well on point.

There is outdoor seating, but we opted for inside because it was quite warm. Maura was our server, and she was very attentive to our needs before, during, and after our meal. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger, the coconut shrimp platter, and the chicken strips platter. The portions were ample, and everything was very good. The coconut shrimp were particularly large, and the mango Cole slaw had a nice "tropical" flavor. Having seen pics of the menu on Facebook, we knew what to expect regarding pricing. I would say that many of the menu items at The Salty Rim are a bit higher than what you would expect to pay at other restaurants here in FB. In my opinion, when you start pushing north of $16-$17/plate for fried foods/burgers, you're hitting the limit of what people are willing to pay for, at least in this area. With that said, The Salty Rim does provide yet another cool dining option here in wonderful Flagler Beach, Florida. A big "welcome" to all the visitors coming to enjoy our beaches and new hotel. Enjoy your stay!

With it being a holiday weekend, Flagler beach was bustling, but this place has dedicated parking for their customers. Walked in to a welcoming cafe with a mix of tables and lounge seats. Ordering at the counter was easy and our food was brought out timely to what we ordered. Both the coffee and the wrap were delicious! Their menu has a mix of sweet and savory breakfast and lunch items. There was a stage in the corner, so we will have to follow to see when they have love music.

I had a lavender iced latte which was pretty good! I was hoping to try the blueberry pancakes one but they were out of the flavors to make it, and also out of the toasted marshmallow flavor so I couldn't try the toasted root beer. So a little sad over that, but the lavender latte was still an absolute win. Plus it was out to me super fast! I also tried a homemade pop tart. That was also really good. I was expecting preserves or similar for the filling though and it wasn't. It was like a strawberry cream cheese filling. Which was good! Just doesn't scream "poptart" to me. The service here is absolutely top tier tho, with no "buts". It's definitely a hometown mom and pop type place and really seems like they care about their community and the employees care about being there. I'll definitely be back. And maybe next time, I'll go earlier in the month when they have a cool flavor of the month so I don't miss out!!! You can't really beat a "coffee. Beach. Bourbon" attitude!

Beachside Rustic Gem: Pizza with a View and Zero Pretension…read more This little beachfront spot is the real deal--tucked right on the sand with killer ocean views that make every bite feel like vacation. Rustic vibes all the way: weathered wood, open-air seating, salty breeze, mismatched tables that scream "we're here for good food and good times," not Instagram aesthetics. The pizza? Straight-up the best in Florida for me--crispy sourdough crust, fresh sauce, toppings that don't skimp. Ate it with waves crashing in the background. Shoutout to Ashley and Kentucky Sunshine--the heart and soul here. Big, genuine smiles, contagious laughs, and that warm, friendly energy that turns strangers into regulars. They chat like old friends while slinging perfect plates. Felt like family from hello. This California boy came for the beach views, stayed for the food and the vibes, and is already plotting the return trip. Small, rustic, welcoming, unbeatable pizza, epic location + these two legends = my new Florida happy place. Skip the fancy chains. Come here for real hospitality and slices with a side of ocean. You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, my order was incorrect in several ways. I specifically requested no cheese because I am lactose intolerant, but my food still came with cheese. I also ordered my sandwich on a bagel -- which is shown on my receipt and order confirmation -- but it was made on a roll instead. In addition, the meal was supposed to come with home fries, but they were missing. When I called the restaurant, I was told you they had run out of home fries and then the other plate we had, we did get fries and they ended up all burned. I understand that things can run out, especially on holidays, but usually customers are informed or offered a substitute. No one called to let me know beforehand or offered anything in place of the missing item. I had to call myself to let them know. I also have a picture of my receipt showing the correct order details. This was my first experience with this location, and it was disappointing. It was my husband and I anniversary (12 year) and we wanted a nice breakfast meal before we had to the beach to celebrate and unfortunately we didn't get to a good experience.
