My family had a horrible experience at the Chilli's in Waldorf MD. My parents never go out to eat and my dad loves Chilli's (probably only goes 4-5 times a year) and so for his 60th birthday we went to Chilli's. The service was horrible. After seated, a server didn't greet the table for 15 minutes. Once drinks were ordered the server did not return for another 12-15 minutes - and with only half of the beverages. Then the server said my brother's margarita was made wrong so its coming. My dad just wanted a bud light bottle and it didn't arrive until 30 minutes after being seated. Then when he ordered a second one, the server completely forgot and it arrived after we asked for our check and only bc I said something before we asked for the check. It was his real birthday and he couldn't even get a beer. He took off work early, I drove 2 hours to be there, my other sibiling drove 45+ miles. We had a 6 and 3.5 year old who were hungry and antsy having to sit in a booth so long. The food was pretty decent but as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years, I was so displeased with the service. My family is very patient and understanding, they never got upset or said anything to the server. But this visit was unacceptable. I do believe him that he was waiting on the bartender for the alcoholic beverages, I could see the service bar area and there were not any drinks up there until prompted by our server. Our server could have been a little more proactive. If I were in his shoes (which I have been many, many times as a server) he really should have involved a manager. I never even saw a manger on the floor. It put a terrible damper on my dad's bday and my parents love Chilli's, they were so patient and did not want to cause a scene by asking for a manager bc they are so kind. However, I honestly do not think they will ever go back to that location and that's really sad. Again, I do believe the bartender was the majority of the problem, she was tending bar alone and the bar was pretty full... but again this goes back to management. When servers or bartenders are struggling, a manager should be stepping in, helping them, and ensuring people are being served. It was so disappointing. She didn't look that busy and it was just weird she wasn't making the drinks for the service bar. I could see her face and she looked unhappy. I really felt bad my dad barely enjoyed himself and every was so aggravated. I have always loved Chilli's and have been going to that waldorf location for years with friends, but it was absolutely unacceptable what happen to my family. I never had Chili's ever so the family and I decided to enjoy the experience together. The wait to be seated was not long at all. However, we did not see our waiter for quite some time before we even got to order our drinks. The wait for our appetizers alone was terrible. Once our entree had arrived the experience was beginning to crumble even more. They messed up the order of my meal and a family members salad were brown on the tips. Here's a positive update regarding this visit... I contacted Chili's regarding my this visit and they were very interested in my comments. I appreciated their attempt to remedy my less than positive experience and rectify any future problems. I made a subsequent visit and it was GREAT! I wish I could remember the servers name because he exemplified what customer service and a great dining experience should be like, and the food was delivered hot & delicious. Have been to this location several times. The food is always good and we've had good service in the past. However, the last few times we've been here the service has dropped off big time. The last 2 times in particular we've had the same server and she is just horrible at her job. I hate to be that blunt, but she's just bad and it appears that she's not even trying. Last time we were here , the hostess had to go get her after we'd been sitting for 6 or 7 minutes and she hadn't come out yet. Then she disappeared for long stretches and would eventually come by, smelling of cigarette smoke. We asked for extra chips for our queso and she didn't bring them until we were done with our meals. All this and she only had 2 tables. This time was much the same experience. I had to go to the bar to get refills on our drinks after sitting on empty for 10 minutes. It truly is the worst service I can remember getting in a restaurant. I was frankly stunned to see she was still working here. We will not be coming back to this location. read more

Had lunch today. Ordered a "Triple Combo" to share and a bowl of chili. My wife had a plate of nachos. We also ordered iced tea -- $5.18! That was a bit much for a couple of glasses of tea. The combo had southwestern egg rolls -- not bad, spinach dip -- just as good as out of a jar, and boneless honey-chipotle wings -- pretty much flavor free. The chili -- way too much cumin and way to little meat. Pretty disappointing for a place that call's itself "Chili's". Maybe it's named after a fat guy who shivers a lot. The chili was more like soup. The service was good. Our server was attentive but did not hover. Of course, Waldorf is pretty much a wasteland as far as decent food goes. So, I'm sure Chili's is at the top of the list for plenty of the locals. I'll stay home when I'm in the mood for chili or open a can. read more

We went to chillis for dinner and the food, waiter AJ was on point. We got there between 8:45 & 9:00pm and we were having a really nice dinner until your staff that was hanging out at the take out pick up area decided to have a loud conversation. My wife and I could not even hear ourselves speaking to each other because they were so loud! AJ came by to check on us and asked if we needed anything else and we told him no but the people back there are really loud and he said he would relay the message but I guess they were not happy after they got the message and got even louder. One lady started loudly expressing after she obviously got her new work schedule, awww hell nawww, awww hell nawww I ain't working no weekends, I mean really!!!! A new staff is what you need Chilli's because these grown folks that was working need some taming in a bad way. One girl on staff made sure as she was leaving to yell at everyone Goodbye yall. My feelings on that is, if you had feelings about me saying you were to loud then you should have stopped by my table and we could have handled it right there on the spot instead of walking out the door yelling and getting in your mother's van that came to pick you up. Your staff is rude besides AJ who handled us professionally. Thank you AJ and Chilli's you don't have to worry about seeing us anymore you ruined our quick anniversary outting!!!! Haven't been into this chillis in a long time and i remember why. I hate to be the one to leave a negative review. When i walk in, there's a nice size party in the bar area so we were seated, by the door, close to the window. Took my server About seven minutes to combs and approach the table. No introduction, straight to my bad y'all, anything to drink? Ok, just a little professionalism please. Took orders, then disappeared until food came out then disappeared again. Maybe I'm spoiled, but im used to servers checkin in making sure everything is alright. Mind yu, he checked on the table behind us 100 times lol. We asked for refills on beverages and never recieved them. Asked for boxes, watched him bring the boxes for the table behind us and give us the box that was left over from the other table (it hit the for first). Came back AGAIN...still no check. Its VERY clear that the main concern of the server is this main table behind me. It's clear if management is here they do not table touch and see if everything is alright. Its a table full of workers that are off duty just sitting on the side and relaxing. Maybe I'm just sitting in the wrong section but im def not coming back here for a long time. read more

This Chili's is probably one of the best I have been to. It's always very clean, speedy service, and great food. We have only ever had one bad experience with the waiter, and we go there 2-3 times a month so that's pretty good! SLOW SLOW SLOW...Did I say slow? Went there twice in a week. First visit on a Monday and we sat in the bar area and saw a waiter 10 minutes later. "We have to "FIND" your server??? There were probably 8 other tables dining and two other tables in the bar area with seated patrons. First, why do you need to FIND my server? This spells poor management PERIOD. Servers should have designated areas and help out in other areas when the need arises. So, finally we had a server and he was nice (seems most area nice). The food came out and was ok. Can't mess up fajitas and a drink. We saw the server far and few during this visit. Came back again on a Saturday. Sat down at 2:00 in the bar area (no one was in the front so we seated ourselves). Finally after seeing no servers we were about to get up and get menus when a server arrived at our table. We placed our drink order (water and an iced tea as well as a margarita). Ten minutes (2:10) later we placed our food orders, after the server took orders of tables that came in after us, yes, we needed a few minutes to look at the menu but when he finally returned, he should have taken our order first. At 2:40 our food arrived...2:40...a salad and fajitas......totally unacceptable, as again, there were about 6-8 tables being served in the entire restaurant at the time of our visit. Why did it take 30 minutes for our food? I ended up cancelling the margarita with the server who looked bewildered...but evidently he never put the order in or it was never sent to the table, either way...unacceptable. There also was a big disparity in the fajitas. We ordered the same dish on our prior visit and the quantity in no way compared to what we received this visit. The kitchen was throwing a loud party on Saturday, which I assume is why the food took so long coming out and was plentiful.?? Doubt I will go back here again. Management really needs to step up to the plate on this place, I am sure they see the horrible reviews. Will also be sending this review to corporate. read more

I posted this in another review page, and now adding here, this occurred in June 2015. I walked in and stood at the area where the hostess checks in guests. The hostess never made eye-contact or greeted me and my guest. We stood there and continued to look at her, she never looked at us or acknowledged us and we were standing directly in front of her. Then someone who looked like he could be a manager asked me and my guest to excuse him as he was trying to walk in the path we were standing in, never dawned on him to ask if we were assisted yet, clearly greeting customers as they arrive is not a priority, but we patiently stood there for 5 minutes, even after that happened. It was about 2pm in the afternoon, and there were empty tables, so it wasn't a matter of a busy lunch rush, after five more minutes my guest and I left and enjoyed a great meat at a place walking distance away. It then took about 10 minutes before we saw our waitress with another waitress telling us our waitress would be with us shortly about 3 different times. Once our waitress showed up, there was no introduction, it was simply "what do you want to drink." We also gave her our entire order figuring who knows how long it would be till we saw her again. She delivered our drinks and disappeared before I realized she brought the wrong thing. We didn't see her again until our meal came out. Upon entering I was greeted. I went to the bar area, which was empty. I wasn't asked if I needed a drink or wanted an appetizer. I was waiting on my other half however hospitality still should have inquired. I was indecisive about what I wanted after looking at the menu. The server gave us "a few minutes" but took quite awhile to get back to us. We offered any water or anything while we waited. We finally were able to place our order. While we waited we could hear constant cursing and carrying on from the staff maybe from the kitchen. I should not be able to hear those things out on the floor. The food came pretty timely. Taste okay. Drinks were ok but I wanted blueberries in my margarita but didn't have those like in the picture. Management isn't present from what I can see. He Was Smiling , He Made Suggestions , He Was Extremely Confident Everything About Him Was A+ 5 stars . So We All Order And Not More Than 3 mins Later Steven Arrives With Our Drinks. Me & My Wife Ordered El Niño's which was a drink he suggested and it was amazing perfect alcohol & sweetness ratio . Our appetizers then arrive (yes for once appetizers came out first!!) the Texas fries we ordered were nice and fresh from the oven and we didn't have to bug him about extra sauces because it already had came with the food. He came back every 3 mins to check on us and kept us updated on when our entrées were arriving. So finally the food comes out and everything and i mean everything was hot, looked great , and tasted great as well !! He came back made sure everything was right and that we had refills at all times . For once i was FINALLY HAPPY !! .. LADIES & GENTS IF YOU DECIDE TO GO TO CHILLIS IN WALDORF MARYLAND REQUEST FOR STEVEN ! And You WONT REGRET IT ! Went there for lunch the other day -- they were understaffed. I feel sorry for my server because she did the best she could but our lunch took 2 hours from start to end because the kitchen/service was so slow. It took 30 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our drinks. After we waited over an hour for our food my food came out wrong. I am not the type of person to send back food but the plate came out is not what I ordered at all. I did one of those pick three mexican combos - my food came out as a pick two and they werent even two of the options that I had chosen. My boyfriend and I decided to do an early dinner here since we found some unused gift certificates from Christmas. We usually don't eat at chain restaurants so we thought we would give it a try. The food wasn't great. I had the shrimp tacos that were bland and Em had a chicken sandwich. The service and management was awful. The waitress actually told us she forgot that we were her table. She forgot half out meal so our sides came 15 min after our entree. We didn't realize we had to use the pos system to pay and got attitude when we asked for our bill. I tried paying with the gift cards and the system wouldn't let me use them so I asked the waitress. She took then in the back and got the manager To try and help. She came back and said they wouldn't work but the manager could come over. Well it was an obvious struggle to get her to come because we watched her walking around aimlessly for 15 min before coming. She told me there was nothing she could do and would not honor them. I am 100% sure they have not been used and was offended by being accused of using blank gift cards. In the end we spent money we wouldn't have at a restaurant for average food, bad wait staff, and a terrible management. All corporate did was give us one free meal. That does not cover everything we spent money wise and I have no need to ever go back to that place!!! read more

Despite all the bad reviews, I decided to try it anyway since I knew what to expect. Wasn't disappointed. Even tho the place wasn't crowded, it still took too long for service. Was going to order an appetizer when the waitress took my drink order but she flew off to her next table before I could get a word out. So I ordered the appetizer when she took my meal order, and it came out after my meal (59 mins later). Every time the waitress came by, she'd say she'd check on in, but in the end I just had them take it back and make it to go. The food taste was marginal to OK compared to other Chili's. Wish I could give -10. Made the mistake of going to this Chili's with family. Was greeted and seated right away. After that all downhill. Waited and waited. This is the 2nd time this has happened at this location. Went up front to ask who was the waiter. Hostess said she would send them over right away. Well, this guy (Anthony) would had been fluttering around the dining room with other patrons finally come over full of attitude. When asked what happened he stated he was washing dishes. Well, that was a flat out lie because he was waiting on the table in front and across from us. Mister was full of attitude, rolling his eyes and sucking his teeth. We placed our order and then had second thoughts. What might he do to the food back in the kitchen? Well, we asked for the manager who was apologetic.
