After being on a plane since 5:30 this morning, there was nothing more on my mind than putting some food in my stomach. The problem was that time was not on my side, and I really needed to leave the terminal, grab my luggage, and get to where I needed to go. This restaurant was here, it was convenient situated right by the gate, and thankfully there were not a whole lot of people in the line. I ordered the Old Timer Burger with cheese to go. I also requested a side order of french fries. The burger was great and it came with cheddar cheese obviously, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and ketchup. I'm still waiting here for the luggage to arrive on the carousel, so I found a little spot to try out some of their fries. They were hot and fresh and the burger was prepared just right. Sitting next to the baggage carousel isn't the most ideal place to eat, but at least I accomplished my mission.

Very friendly service, which makes you really feel welcomed and stay in longer without rush (taken your plane does not take off anytime soon) - five stars for it without hesitation based on today's experiences. Coming in here instead of authentic mexican venues today, I was kind of expecting to experience something more extraordinary from the burger though, especially as the place informs being expert on this genre. Perhaps I have been exposed too long time to the absolutely fantastic quality of less of a chain venues back in Sonora state -- the place of choice for carne asada -- with their outperforming meat and charcoil aroma that this style would not compete with in the same category. So, four stars averaging the service and food. Nevertheless, the meat today was juicy enough, and this plate did not require additional spicies. The place has a nice and quite complete beverage selection too, and a sports bar setup. I'd certainly come back still in the future to test some other items.

Classic that you arrive from a flight and however short it is you get tired and without a cell battery. These reasons led me to enter Chili´s, I was looking for a place where I could sit, eat, rest and recharge my cell phone. The service of the waiters is quite punctual and pleasant. The place have a wide variety of foods for all tastes.

While in México waiting for my flight home, I decided to sit down and eat versus rushing. I chose Chilis. I was quickly seated. This place is pretty busy because it's at the airport. The place is small and has limited seating. The waiter took my drink order and then forgot about me. He eventually did come back to take my order. I ordered the salad quesadilla explosion. The salad was pretty good but then it was after the fact. I literally had the runs. Don't know if it was the chicken or the actual brown lettuce. If you decide to eat here maybe don't have lettuce.

All I have to say is that they took 15 minutes to bring me honey mustard for chicken crispers.... super bad service.

Normally I would find this sort of place via yelp, but apparently nobody here had heard of yelp…read moresomehow, so I actually don't remember how I even found out about it (I would have had to - it's not like you'd ever know it was there from the outside, being a little sign on a door in the inside of the lobby of a small hotel). I'm really glad I did, though, because they absolutely *need* to be on yelp so more people like me can find it, because it was a. absolutely fantastic, some of the best cocktails I've had, and for a great price, and b. literally empty all night the night I was there (which was, to be fair, a Monday, but still - we were literally the only people there other than the two bartenders, both for like an hour earlier in the day, and then when I came back around 10:30 that night for another drink because I was leaving the next morning and I really wanted to try one more drink because they were that good). English is spoken haltingly at best, though (at least when I was there), which could partially explain the lack of fame among tourists (my wife speaks a bit of Spanish, but the Google Translate app was also helpful in both directions.) It's a cozy sort of place, and they were playing great music. too - neat blend of like 80s music and remixes of 80s music. Awesome decor, too. Most cocktails on the pre-defined menu are $130 (so under $8 US), and I did start with a couple of those, to confirm they knew what they were doing, which they totally did. First the Free Verte - basically a traditional absinthe ceremony in a glass, with ice with a flower frozen into it. Tastes fantastic if you like absinthe (you can taste the flame!), and it's a show to make. Then the El Santo, with a liquor base of "pox", which I'd never heard of, so he gave me a little to try - it tastes sort of like a cross between mezcal and white rum. The drink was a typical (dangerous!) tiki type drink, super creamy and delicious, plus I love the glasses they use for it. I also tried one of their 50-peso "shots" cause I was curious, with rum, coconut cream, mango/pineapple juice, melon liquor and india nut. Sort of like a painkiller, but flavor up to 11 with the nutty kick. (I obviously didn't actually shoot it - that would be a waste of deliciousness.) Having confirmed the overall quality of the place, I then tried their custom cocktail ability ($140!). This is where Google Translate really helped, obviously. Started by asking for a custom mezcal drink that really brings out the mezcal and wasn't too fruity. Not exactly what I meant, but an amazing drink nonetheless, and I could still taste the mezcal pretty well. Fresh berry (strawberry, cranberry, raspberry) juice, jamaica, mezcal, and a rosemary lit on fire. It was fan-freaking-tastic. That as all the drinking I was planning on doing that day, but that creation was so good, I had to try a second experiment - I told them mezcal again, and this time, do what you like, but make it spicy. They gave me a drink with mezcal, simple syrup, lemon and a house-made spice/cinnamon liqueur. It was really good, but I said please make it a little spicier, so they pulled out an unlabeled jar with jalapeno slices infusing in it - heck yes. That and a couple dashes of scrappy firewater bitter, all poured over a mango-infused ice ball with an actual slice of fresh mango frozen in the middle. This is a fantastic place, did I say that yet? So anyway, I cut myself off at that point, but on the way out, I asked what all the little cubbies by the bar were, and they said they all contained little packets of different herbs and stuff, including saffron(?). So later that night, I said to my wife, I *have* to go back and see what they can make with that saffron, so I did. Anyway, it was actually safflower, not saffron, but it was still a fun drink. Received a drink with lemon, vermouth flash-infused with safflower (turned a gorgeous bright yellow) and gin of my choice from their selection (I said Hendrick's - most of their gin was traditional dry gin, and I prefer bolder gins), plus lavender bitters, still just 140 pesos. It was pretty delicious - almost tasted a bit like really good bubblegum(?). There were two guys bartending when I was there earlier, but just one was there when I was back at 10:30 (thankfully for me, the one who spoke a bit of English). I didn't think to get the first guy's name, but they were both awesome bartenders. I did ask when I came back - the second guy's name was David. They were both awesome, though. Only weird thing is, for some reason, even though they said they were open until 1 AM, at 11 they closed the POS system and said it was going to be cash only? Not sure why. Anyway, this place needs some serious attention from craft cocktail lovers, because it is awesome. (Or maybe it doesn't, so if I'm ever back in CDMX, it'll still be crazy cheap for the quality!)

It's a beautiful bar. Very unique, small and cozy but their cocktails leave a lot to be desired. If…read morethey are marketing themselves as a specialty cocktail bar they should at least have fresh juice and not store bought carton juices. A little turned off unfortunately.

A little torn on the review since the service was quite good here, food was probably a 3.5, though a little issue left a blemish on my impression. The entrance is thru the elevator on the first floor inside the bookstore Librería Porrúa, you go up to the 3rd floor and arrive to a foyer area where to the right is the cafe portion of the restaurant and to the left is the sit-down section. Walking into the space the kitchen and bathrooms are to the left, a bar straight back against the far wall with maybe half a dozen tables in between. To the right about a 20 tables are placed on a split-level section under a covered rooftop open so all have views out over Templo Mayor. Retractable outdoor blinds line the edges of the rooftop to protect from inclement weather. Arriving at around 2pm, the restaurant was about 50% full though almost all the tables closer to the view overlooking Templo Mayor were occupied. The staff were courteous and professional, quickly providing menus and coming back to check on us. We ordered: - Conga (pineapple, orange and coconut with granedine) $55*: refreshing citrusy juice in combination mentioned, not too sweet which I was glad for. - Mexican craft beer Tempus doble malta $90: cool, dark and malty, though not too heavy for a warm afternoon. - Tortilla soup with tomato, panela cheese, tortilla julienne chips, avocado, pasilla chili, and epazote leaf $155: tasty! Flavorful and brought a kick with the chili spice, pretty mild though. Nice crunch from the fried tortilla strips. - Xochitl broth (chicken broth with "pico de gallo", rice, shredded chicken and chicharron (fried pork skin) $140: light broth with full chicken flavor, crunch from the chicharron. Would recommend. - Steak tips (180 grs) tacos with nopales (cactus pads) (3 pieces) $195: decent, good with the salsa. - Cochinita pibil burritos (4 pieces) $185: didn't expect these to be deep fried, flavor was ok though not sure I'd recommend these, - Rice with mole sauce $85: really tasty, we didn't leave a grain of rice! So the unfortunate that I had a couple issues bc service was overall good: - found a hair on the lime slices that came served with the tacos, I'm not a big stickler bc I get it, sometimes a piece of hair just falls down, not the most unsanitary thing that could happen. - what bothered me more was the placement of the bread rolls, the staff took each roll from a basket with tongs and placed it on what looked like woven straw coasters for drinks, they looked like they were just sitting out on the table for decoration, and not sure how those would be cleaned... If the above two issues hadn't occurred I'd be rounding up to 4 stars, though because of them this spot is a 3 for me. *all prices in pesos.
