This review is also based on a conversation that I had outside with a lady and her young daughter who entered Chili's and left at the same. We both had the same experience last night, April 1st. 1. We were seated and took 10-15 min before someone came to us to place an order/get drinks. 2. I ordered my nephews meal. Informed the waitress for his salad just lettuce and croutons. And asked for double mash potatoes. At this point she did not tell me that they came with cheese or bacon, which he does not eat. 3. The drinks came out in random order: 2 waters and a sprite. Then it was followed 5 min later with my soda. 4. Salad came out with cheese, cucumbers, lettuce and croutons. Not once were checked on to see if it came out okay. I had to pick out all the shredded cheese. 5. Our meal took another 20-25 minutes to come out. 6. My nephew steak came out with his double mash potatoes with cheese and bacon. We had to send it back cause he does not like cheese. Not once did the waitress come by to see if food came out okay. 7. They had ran out of corn which came with the meal I ordered. I asked for double broccoli. My broccoli wasn't steamed or seasoned. It was in the raw state maybe steamed for 1-2 minutes. The bite was FIRM. 8. Service was slow. I had to bus my own table, getting napkins, containers to go. I had to put my dirty plates on the other 2 tables that were dirty the entire time I was there, about an hour. 9. Our drinks were NEVER refilled or asked. 10. The manager took our bill and he never asked our experience. And even that took additional 10 min to get that back. This was the worse experience ever at a Chili's and the lady outside had the same slow experience. And realized it has gone down hill. read more

My family and I had a great time here. We didn't even have to wait and was seated immediately. Our server was great unfortunately I didn't catch his name but he was very helpful. My 4 year old was cranky and hungry and I asked if I could her food come out right away and he came back in 2 min with her food! It was great and that helped us a lot! Everyone there was helpful we had multiple server and our main server come and check on us to see if there is anything we need. The food tasted great. We love chili's- margaritas are great. However, not a great outdoor setup/mask enforcement outdoors. When we were seated today, another table as sat nearby and as the young group walked in, one didn't even have a mask over his face. Numerous people had loud, persistent coughs(not sure Chili's can enforce anything related to that but still frustrating). The outdoor seating is limited and feels a bit cramped... if possible to expand the outdoor area and ensure masks are enforced until a party is fully seated, it would be more enjoyable for all. read more

Chilis normally isnt my ideal place when I think let's go out to dinner but we got a giftcard from family so decided to go tonight while 3 of our kids were with friends and let me say I'm glad we did. We were seated immediately, our server Angel was amazing from start to finish. The $5 margaritas were off the chain good not at all what you'd expect for $5, they were delicious and strong! All of our food was great, my son who doesn't eat anything even asked for more. The food was fine - about a 3/5 on the scale of my Chili's experiences. Greasy chips, but otherwise mediocre. Worth the 2 for $22 tag. Here's the kicker - we sat at the table closest to where the staff liked to congregate, at the end of the bar nearest to the kitchen doors. Needless to say we overheard enough to make us never come back, including 1) a concerned bartender tell his manager that one of his plastered patrons was about to get behind the wheel only to be told condescendingly to get back to work; 2) a male server making snide comments about a customer at the bar; and my favorite: 3) OUR SERVER gesturing towards us when someone noticing her increasingly sour attitude asked "what's wrong?" I love Chili's, but it's just not as good as it used to be. And what happened to the portion sizes? This location always seems to be dirty and packed with lots I'd screaming snotty nosed kids. Can I get a hallelujah!! Just when you think this place couldn't get any better, they just did. New revamped menu and their service was much more better compared to my previous review. I sat at the bar area and was greeted by Julio our server. His upbeat energy was definitely noticeable and b.c. of that, I could only compare to the remaining of my time there. Everything off their new menu was making my gf and I a long time to make a decision, but we were definitely hungry! Finally, we made a tough decision and ordered the pork carnitas and shrimp fajitas, and the turkey avocado burger. When we got our order, they screwed it up and gave me chicken instead of my carnitas but Julio was quick to see the mistake and I got to keep the extra:) everything tasted great! The only thing I would complain about was not being able to scarf it all down that moment...but who doesn't like left overs!?! I'm biased to Chili's because I love their margaritas. But I'll try to keep it objective. Went there on a Friday night trying to do some drinking with my friends who also wanted to eat, but I wasn't hungry. So we're seated quickly and introduced to our server, she was really nice, when I told her I was only drinking, she said sometimes her meals are purely liquid as well. The couple I was with didn't have a complaint about their foods, and I loved my margaritas as usual. The place was a ghost town by 11 and it we felt kinda bad being the only people hanging around so we left. Definitely not the Friday night scene. read more

On average, I find myself eating at this restaurant at least once a month. With summer approaching, I'll probably see me and my family in there 2 or 3 times a month and I'll explain why. Why do I return time and time again? The food's pretty tasty and the prices don't make my wallet ache.With this chain, I'm a creature of habit, I tend to always order the Big Mouth Bites, which I can share with my picky eater of a 2 year old. 4 sliders and a fair heap of fries and fried onion strips -don't forget the cup of ranch! The 2/$20 deal is super (in terms of amount of food and price) if you've got a buddy, honey, or date to go halves with you Shoot, you could just have an extreme appetite, the deal will satiate your hunger and not break the bank . Of course, Chilis being known for it's ribs, you'll want to check out that sweet portion of the menu! So the reason for my increased future visits is that Chili's offers Happy Hour. Sit in the bar during Happy Hour time(s) and enjoy cheap eats ($2.99-4.99) and drinks. The margaritas are delicious, especially the Tropical Sunrise and if you'd like to walk away a little wobbly, try El Niño margarita! During Happy Hour, I believe you'll only get a deal on the Tropical Sunrise and one other margarita, but hey, a drink's a drink and at a lowered price, you can't go wrong. In addition, Chili's-To-Go has never failed my family and they just now added Tablet/iPad menus to their tables which I think is pretty darn innovative. Order your desserts, look through specials, play games (well, for $0.99 a game...), pay your bill, and print your receipt! It says you can call your waitress/waiter from your table as well, but I was too apprehensive to try that feature. read more

So i went into chili's for happy hour, 3-6pm i entered and was seated at 2:49 pm, pondered over my menu for about 15-20 mins as the waiter brought us waters. I then order the "free" chips and salsa, that is supposed to be free during happy hour....and said i still needed more time to look at the menu. When he arrived with the chips, i told him id have the 8 nachos, seriously they give you 8 chips that's it.... I ate my nachos and chips drank my water and was ready for my bill...i waited and waited for the bill finally giving up and walking to the employees only area and asking my waiter for the check... got my check and he charged me for the chips and salsa, so i reminded him they were free during happy hour and it was 3:40....he told me since we walked in and sat down at 2:49 that we were not eligible for the happy hour specials!!!!! we didnt order until after 3!!!! Hello again Yelp, Yes yet again another 5 Star review from me. My wife and I usually tend to stay away from these large chain restaurants when going out for a drink. Just like everyone else we like small hole in the wall places where everybody knows your name. Our First Visit: We visited Chili's on a whim, because we hadn't tried it before so we stopped in for a bite to eat. Being the person I am I informed my wife the bar was the place to be, even though we planned on eating as well, so we had a seat. As we were walking up to the bar we were greeted with kindness by both of the bartenders. They asked for our names and introduced themselves as well, making us feel very welcome. While we settled in and exchanged small talk they also managed to let us know the current featured drinks and happy hour specials, informatively though not pushing them upon us. My wife tried one of their Margaritas with a Corona in it and loved it, I personally had a Fat Tire on tap, which always hits the spot. The food was great as well, it isn't the most amazing food in the world, this is not a gourmet restaurant but it is more than pleasing for a chain. I had the honey chipolte chicken crispers which were delicious and I get them quite a bit there. My wife enjoyed a Casear salad, minus the chicken. She now often gets a side of broccoli as well. Later: We still constantly visit Chili's as our local bar, we enjoy spending time there and meeting new people. Thank you to all the wonderful bartenders, if you read this you know who you are. I ALWAYS use to push to go to Chili's as I am a sucker for their a) salsa, and b) chicken club tacos. This last time will be my last time 1)took FOR-EVER to get a waiter to get our drink order (I have 2 toddlers...had I known it was going to take over 15 min for drinks I would have just brought them some!) 2) I *heart* their salsa, but I had to take the time to brush the LOADS of salt off of each chip before I could eat them....so a little of the magic is gone. 3) I ordered the chicken club tacos (which come with mexican rice and black beans), and there were no beans. When I mentioned this I was told that those were "extra". 4) The tacos had none of the mexi-ranch sauce (typically it does and they include a side container of it), the waitress seemed annoyed that I kept asking for things. 5) When I finally started to eat them I realized that not only were they cold, the chicken was so overcooked that it couldn't be chewed. Now normally this would just irk me with the kitchen and not the waitstaff (it's not their fault right?), but when I pointed it out to her, her expression was one of " So? what do you want ME to do?" She did finally offer to take it back to the kitchen but by this point my husband and children were finished and ready to go. (Shame we had to leave CHILI'S and get mom something to eat at the nearby Burger King :( When I asked to speak to a manager she said she would get one.....15-20 min later nothing. I love chilis until I came to this one. I waited about 20 mins to be seated when there were 6 tables open. I asked if they were holding the tables and they said no. Managers excuse is that they didn't have enough servers so they rather have us wait in the front then wait at a table. Makes no sense. First of all, get more damn servers. Especially on a football Sunday. Second of all, nobody wants to wait in the front. Just sit people down please! This place needs to get their act together. Terrible service. Let me start of by saying I haven't had chili's in years, and I will never go back. My server was great, very friendly and helpful. But the food, it was so gross and had no taste to it. They offer a bunless burger, with no lettuce to even eat it with. The lettuce was shredded. And the pasta didn't have and taste or even look appetizing. Had dinner with Katie here last week, and I was able to score on some of the happy hour specials. Had the Cajun Pasta, the boneless wings and the skillet queso. The strips were ok, as the sauce is a little on the strong side. I really liked the Cajun Pasta though. I was surprised how good the chicken was, and it went well with their sauce. The leftovers even nuked well. The queso is one of my favorite appetizers from any restaurant. I don't know what it is with that beef and cheese concoction but I really dig it. I ordered the bacon avocado chicken sandwich instead of getting what I ordered I got a avocado raw chicken sandwich. I don't understand why people work in the food industry if you can't make a simple sandwich. If I could rate 0stars I would for all the employees who let this happen. I'm sick to my stomach because I bit into the sandwich and thought that doesn't taste right. Took another bite to make sure it wasn't my taste buds but I looked at the chicken and it was pink and white and the fact the bacon was missing really made the sandwich taste terrible. Order out only. I've been many times. Each time (like said before) there are tons of LOUD snot nosed kids screaming around you. Don't bother asking to not be placed by them, they're everywhere. Food is hit and miss, 1/2 time the burgers are dry and seem to be mostly bread. Soups can either be thick and chowdery or watery and tasteless. Hit and miss. Its your typical run of the mill corporate restaurant, can't expect 100% - 100% of the time. Staff is generally attentive, the hostesses are hit and miss, some friendly/some seem annoyed. The food is not worth what it costs. I only order the 2 for 20$ beyond that, the food isn't worth the cost. (Like I said.) You take out, and you don't have to deal with tipping waitstaff either. =D read more

This Chili's is by far the worst chili's location I have been too in north county. The waiter was lost the entire food service. I repeated my order to him 3 times .. had to order sodas twice. My order came out wrong and they had to correct it 6times! (It was simple plane burger) Even after speaking to a manager they still managed to get it wrong. I ordered chips and salsa and they took 30 minutes to come and asked for a refill and never got my refill. Then when it came to paying.. that literally took 20 minutes just to make sure we were charged correctly. Seriously the worst service ever not only from the waiter but from management as well. Every other location has giving great service. I'm not one to leave negative comments but this was seriously an unreal experience. read more

I recently came to this Chili's after work for happy hour. My friend and I sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the friendly bartender and other guests who were sitting by us. Chili's has an awesome happy hour. Great prices on the margaritas (which are delicious!) and FREE chips and salsa. Their salsa is so good!! They accidentally punched in one of our items wrong, but the bartender realized as soon as he brought the wrong item out and the manager brought the correct item only about 2 minutes later! Great service! I work at the wax center in the same shopping center so I'm sure I'll be back after work soon! read more

The reason for the 5 star rating is simple. We all know Chilis isn't some unique and cool place, but the service has always been on point. We take our 3 year old and sit at a booth in the bar area every time. The new table kiosks are a life saver. My daughter can play the kid games and my wife and I can have a real conversation and enjoy good margaritas and cold beer. Look, it's a corporate place blah blah blah, but we have had great service and they have huge ice cold beers on tap. Our server the last 3 times has been China, and she rocks it every time! Yeah, this place used to suck, but they obviously knew that and worked hard to change some major things. The Shrimp Ceasar Salad goes great with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Yeah, I can walk into one of those cool hipster places, but those places are rarely consistent and don't always have great service due to the "I am so cool, you have no idea" factor...and frankly, we are over that bullchit. If you like big ass cold beers and good margaritas that are affordable, a place that is family friendly, and good food selection, then head on over. You won't be disappointed. So far so good. Starting off with the triple dipper. Boneless wings fried pickles and southwestern egg rolls. Boneless wings were ok. I recommend if you want wings go to wing stop. Fried pickles were good. The southwestern egg rolls were really good. As an appetizer dish I would give it 3.5 stars. Main course quesadilla explosion Wife said 3 stars. It was big and the quesadillas were thick. Chicken was a little salty for her taste. The salad was "fresh enough" and a full rack of ribs. So I am a rib snob and really hard on ribs. These ribs were ok. Probably 2.5 stars and won't do them again if your in the mood for ribs this ain't the place for you and unfortunately I was. Will be more adventurous next time. Service. Absolutely terrible. Anyone that thinks chilli's represents good food or value for money needs to have a word with themselves. Paying $14 for a grill chilled sandwich would be fine if it was the greatest chicken sandwich ever, made from the finest ingredients, and served with care and attention. But this wasn't any of those things. More accurately, I'd say this was cooked from frozen slop, served by staff that couldn't care less. You get better food at McDonald's- no joke. The food in Chili's was always great fast food. (If it arrived and was hot.) But the service at the Vista store was terrible. Avoided for 2 years until recently cashed in my Christmas vouchers at Carlsbad Mall Chilis near Barnes and Noble. At the Carlsbad mall Chili's I was very surprised. Staff are ALL very good and whomever is managing it can hire right. S/he does a great recruiting job. Same good food, same decentish decor, and decent staff. Wow! Been coming to Chili's for decades--this was our worst visit yet. Food was pretty good, but service and amenities were terrible. When our food was brought, we had to ask for a plate for my husband's fajitas. The waitress dutifully brought him one, her lack of apology indicating that it is practice NOT to provide a plate to a person preparing their own fajitas off a sizzling hot cast-iron plate. My own food, which was an appetizer combo, came on a plastic serving plate, with Chili's waxed paper on it. When I attempted to cut my food, the paper tore, exposing some very grungy looking plastic. I had to ask for a plate for myself the next time the waitress came around. They provide one fork and one knife, wrapped in a super-thin napkin. Although we had fajitas and appetizers with at least 6 different sauces/fluids to be distributed on our food, there were no spoons provided. We would have had to make yet another "special request" for spoons; instead i applied my liquid salsa, sour cream, and ranch dressing with one fork. The silverware was stained, spotted and super cheap looking. This place has really gone downhill, to the point that we will not be returning, even tho the food is OK. read more

We are frequent visitors to Chillis's! It's consistent and affordable. They have great French fries and their sliders are tasty! If you're watching calories they have some great lean chicken or fish options. I am fan of their margaritas and of course diet coke ( not together of course). My lady likes the El Presidente with salt! Not much of a wait to sit most of the time except peak periods can get a bit busy. Friendly servers.... Today must have been an off day in the kitchen- food took 25+ minutes to get to us... :( boo It's Chillis's.... It's chain, you get what the commercial says you will get! read more

Typical Chilis. Parking sucked on a Thursday night but I'm sure that's due to the shopping centers it resides within. Bregan was our server and she was top notch, but when she went on break her replacement was BAD. Funny, but BADDDDDD. Came here with a couple other moms and four kids (ages 5-6) after seeing a movie across the way. Got seated fairly quickly at close to 1pm on a Sunday. Our waiter, Zack, was great. We were celebrating my son's birthday so after we were done eating, Zack brought the cake (that I made and brought to the restaurant) out with about 6 other staff members to sing a Happy Birthday song to my son, who was very surprised and thrilled with the attention.
