Absolutely the Therapists are changing lives at CTC. The quality of the theray is fabulous! My son has been seen at both the Falls Church location along with Gainesville. We are currently receiving services for OT, PT and Speech. All of the therapists are changing my son's life for the better along with mine. The home program that I have been given helps me at home with implementing what they are doing in therapy. I have carried this over to his ABA Therapists and his school OT and Speech so we are all on the same page. I so appreciate all of the therapists and their hard work. I love the flexible schedule. Early morning appointments before school are the best! I like the flexibility that if I need to change my son's appointment to another day, they have openings evening or weekends. With going to 6 sessions a week this is so beneficial to me as a working mom. Thanks CTC! read more

I cannot say enough positive things about The Children's Therapy Center! We go to the Gainesville, VA location! Tameka always has a smile on her face, is welcoming and does a wonderful job scheduling appointments that fit my schedule! Ashley is my daughters PT person! The knowledge this woman has is amazing! She does a very detailed evaluation, explains things not only to me, but my daughter and does fun activites to improve her strength! The staff is excellent and very friendly. Appointments are prompt and very efficient. Its hard to put your child's welfare in someone's hand. Professionals like Karen, Kelly, and Laurie have been amazing with our son. He has shown amazing progress since we started here. The space could use a fresh coat of paint and some updates, but I would trade all of that for good client relationship, reliability, and professionalism. I would not recommend this center if your child has ADHD, developmental delays, autism, or need the support of a stroller or wheelchair because management can be unaccommodating. The Speech therapist Ms. Holman is great with working with parents and outside therapist such as ABA Therapist but management especially Ms. Summers, do not appear to have adequate experience with the special needs population. If your child has a wheelchair or stroller they are not willing to accommodate you and constantly changing their policies where you are receiving a constant amount of policy changes in your email. Ms. Summers acted as if she was not trained to know that once your child can communicate and speak in some form many of the other issues that comes with having a special need child may improve. Ms. Summers lacking professional etiquette interfered with my child's routine on the way to his session causing confusion in my 6 year-old and also grabbed my son by his shoulders while myself and the therapist already had his hands to lead him into therapy. Ms. Summers is very rude in the way she talks to staff and clients! If you have a Neurodivergent child this may not be the place for you. Also, it is difficult to get a hold of someone especially in the morning but they have no problem getting in touch with you last minute when they need to cancel a session. read more

Great for OT and PT. My son (5yo) did OT there for a year and a half and did PT for 6 months, and my daughter (2yo) did PT for about 2 months at the Gainesville office. The therapists he worked with most often, Stacie Argade (OT) and Ashley (PT) are fantastic. Stacie is like a warm hug: always smiling and positive, gentle and encouraging. My son adores her. Ashley (PT) is energetic, positive, and brilliant, and provides a great balance between fun activities and challenges. They have helped my son in so many areas relating to his autism. They know what a child should be capable of developmentally and how to help them improve in fun and intrinsically motivating ways. They let the child lead the activities if they become disengaged, and find ways to incorporate their goals into the child-led activities, then gently steer the child back to non-preferred tasks. Our sessions have been done over zoom since March, and they did a great job of finding activities that we could do at home to continue our therapy uninterrupted. I facilitated the appointments by helping my son focus and demonstrating what they wanted him to do, and the OT therapist provided materials that were requested via e-mail the day before. I loved that we could safely help him continue to grow. They genuinely love the kids they treat, they meet the kids where they are, and they rejoice in their successes. I highly recommend Children's Therapy Center. First, as of the fall 2021 they are in a new location (very close to old location). The new space is bright and beautiful. Second: They made a huge investment in technology. You can schedule online and a few months out now. Third: the therapy is amazing. We had Laurie and Yael over a year. I didn't realize going into OT how much they would also be training me as the parent. They were very gentle with me so that I could continue the exercises at home. My child learned to trust them and was willing to try new things. They were so gentle and patient. I am amazed, a year later, to have a child who has learned better focus and to try out and tolerate more foods. I cannot recommend them enough! read more

My son receives OT and PT here. Like another reviewer, I was a bit put off by their cancellation policy. My son woke up the morning of a recent PT appointment with a fever so we called to cancel. There was no mention of the cancellation fee when we called to cancel which would have been nice, but I happened to ask about it when I saw a sign in one of the therapy rooms the following week. She said we either had to pay $25 or make up the appointment within 2 weeks. I opted to make it up but that meant he had 2 PT visits and 1 OT in the same week which seemed to be a bit of overkill just to fulfill a policy. He certainly didn't need 2 PT visits in a week but I'd rather pay my $9 copay than a $25 cancellation fee so I wound up wasting everyone's hour for that reason. The billing policy is just eh but the therapists so far have been wonderful. In fact, my son's PT cancelled on us last week as she was ill and he had an all out meltdown because he was so sad he wouldn't get to see her. He looks forward to going here and asks all the time when we get to go back to the "fun doctor." Oh and they really need more office space. They make the most of what they have but there is not a ton of room. And the first time I called they put me on hold for almost 40 minutes because the front desk is so overworked. More space and more admin staff would make this place much better. I know this review sounds mediocre but the PT/OT staff makes up for the admin issues. I do highly recommend them. After a long time of being on their waiting list, they finally allowed me to make recurring therapy appointments for my daughter. Unfortunately my daughter got very sick on the day of one of her appointments and I had to call and cancel. They told me it would be no problem. A week later, I got a bill in the mail for a $25 missed appointment fee. I called and asked why they're billing me when I called to cancel the appointment, and their extremely rude billing lady told me that I have to call 24 hours in advance. I explained to her that my daughter was sick and her sickness is out of my control, and I don't bring her to appointments when she's sick. The billing lady says "I understand but we have a policy". I asked her what I'm supposed to do, bring my daughter in and let her infect their staff and all the kids in the waiting room? And she told me no I'm not supposed to bring her in, I'm just supposed to cancel and pay the cancellation fee. I told her that's ridiculous and I wouldn't pay it. I decided not to do business with these people and cancelled all of her future appointments. Their billing policies are offensive. read more

The speech therapist is great. However, the waiting room is dirty and it smells. The chairs are stained and nasty. The bathroom was so nasty! I felt like I was using a gas station restroom. One plus is that they have free WiFi. My daughter likes it, so I guess I will deal with it until I find another provider that takes Aetna. read more

I do not recommend Children's Therapy Center. They have very dishonest billing practices. My child had Medicaid as a secondary insurance, which at the time they office said they accepted. We were never asked to pay a co-pay for the 2+ months of therapy visits. A full 2-YEARS after our visits, we received bills from the provider. Speaking with different people at different locations, all gave a different answer. They are now claiming that they never accepted Medicaid, which is simply a lie based on what we were told in-person at the time of our visits. We have received separate bills from different billing agencies, supposedly on behalf of Children's Therapy Center. Attempts to contact either billing contact have been unsuccessful, with no response and no returned messages. Now we are threatened with collections for a 1-month old bill, for services rendered 2-years ago. There should be laws against deceptive practices like this. read more

My autistic son has been to CTC for almost three years now, we go for OT in Sterling and Springfield office for speech as there are no available ST's in Sterling. The therapists are really excellent and my son always looks forward to his appointments. He's also made a lot of progress. Yes they do have a $25 cancellation fee and I have paid it a few times. I don't think it's a big deal, most other medical offices have a similar policy. read more

DO NOT GO! Children's Therapy Center is after your money not after helping your child. When scheduling my first appointment with them, I confirmed whether or not my insurance would cover the costs (as I did with 3 other places that did not). They assured me that everything was covered so we continued to make weekly appointments. It wasn't until 6 months later that they informed me that insurance didn't cover it and wanted over $1,000 from me. I asked them if it wasn't covered, why they didn't charge me after every visit? No real response except that they have had new employees in a certain department. I spoke with the owner of the place to explain the situation and she was very distant and cold. She kept saying that I needed to pay (even after explaining to her, that it was her staff's fault for informing me that I was covered and then not informing me that I wasn't until 6 months later!). I would call on a daily/weekly basis trying to resolve until they decided last year to submit the account to collections. I wish the $1000+ was worth it, but my son was no better off attending the center than not. He came out just as he entered. It is obvious that Children's Therapy Center does not have your child's interest at heart, just the money he brings in. Proceed with extreme caution or just don't bother at all. Good therapists, but scheduling process is very frustrating. It's been difficult to get consistent appointment times, and even a discussion with the office manager (laying out the difficulties their scheduling policy creates) was unsuccessful in getting to an acceptable solution. The center isn't fancy, but my 9 yr. old son went from writing like a preschooler, to legible handwriting in under a year. They assessed issues I did not even realize could be improved. The therapists are patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their patients. Other's note the cancellation policy, but you can do a late cancel within the first 15 minutes for no charge as long as you reschedule at the same time. For those complaining about the late fees, they cannot bill the insurance if the patient isn't there...that's insurance fraud and they will lose their license for it. The only drawback is that although you can secure appointments up to 4 weeks in the future, you must schedule those appointments at the start of every week. read more

The office staff is the by far the worst I've ever encountered. The therapists are great once you get past the office staff. The office staff routinely mis-schedules appointments, cancels appointments at the last minute and errounsely schedules make up appointments without consent. read more
