We appreciate how honest the therapist was about how she didn't see any underlying concerns with her in this area and was not pushy about continuing therapy sessions. But we did discuss perhaps occupational therapy to help her with feeding for future development. So we booked a few feeding OT sessions with Nadia and my daughter was in love with her from day 1. She was kind, patient and instantly connected with our daughter in trying to pin point the best way to encourage her to open up on how she interacts with food. Would highly recommend.

My son has been attending speech therapy sessions at Fairfax Pediatric Therapy since early January…read more He is almost 9 and has always struggled with his "s," "sh," and "ch" sounds - but we waited to see if he would grow out of it (he didn't). On recommendation of our dentist, we tried some videos to help him with speech, but we were not successful on our own. After a Zoom call with Ariel and Ahmad, the speech therapist, we felt very confident and comfortable with Fairfax Pediatric Therapy. After the first session, my son made huge strides in his "sh" sounds - he was actually able to articulate it correctly, even if it was a struggle. Long story short, as of today (3 months after starting) Finn has met all of his speech goals and no longer needs the services. Both Ahmad and Finn worked hard to make this happen - and in such a short time. I didn't expect progress so fast, to be honest. Not only that - my kiddo actually looked forward to the sessions. Ahmad took the time to get to know his interests - chess and strategy games - and built the sessions around play. When we left today, for the last time, Finn said he was going to miss his friend. We have had the best experience! Thank you.

After years of searching for the right solution, I feel like we hit the jackpot. I had started to wonder if my daughter my struggle with speech articulation for the rest of her life and literally in 9 months, I now have people asking why she's even in speech. Katie is warm, nurturing, incredibly talented, motivating, and such a wonderful role model to my daughter. She's inspired my 6-year-old to want to be a speech pathologist to help people just like Katie has helped her. If you have the opportunity to use OWLS Therapy, particularly Katie McLaughlin, for your child, run, don't walk -- you won't regret it!

Janene and Karen were always professional and immediately addressed any questions or concerns I had. I was extremely satisfied with the company as a whole and with Karen's therapy services. My child always looked forward to karen's sessions. I like how they can come to your home, daycare, or provide virtual sessions. Karen provided written summaries of each session and activities/goals to work on at home. The only reason we stopped services was because we moved to a different state- otherwise we'd still be using them! I did a lot of research/trial sessions into other Northern Virginia offices and I am so glad we went with OWLs!

Am I really the first?…read more My son sees Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Magdelena for OT and Speech. He used to see Jo Ann until the scheduling didn't work out. They have two locations: Annandale and McLean. We've been to both. The Annandale location is closer to us to drive to from Loudoun County, although I prefer the McLean location...because there are more things to do while waiting. Annandale not so much, you have to sit put. We've been very very happy with Skill Builders and my son gets excited to see his therapists each visit. I mean he runs happy from the car to the office and can't wait, especially for Ms. Lindsay for OT. We drive an hour each way from the next county over just to come here.

She advocates for all her clients and goes that extra mile to match your child with the perfect therapist. It always helps that she hires only the best therapists in Northern VA. Everyone at Skill Builders is amazing and we owe so much to the company and their therapists. Thank you for always being there for our family and helping all our children being their best selves! My children still talk about how they miss Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Fern! My daughter adores Ms. Katie and it's the best day of her week when she gets to go to Skill Builders. Literally dances her way into the office singing her " Im going to see Ms Katie" song! We love Cari and she really advocates for our children not only in the office but in our community of special needs children. You want a pro like Cari on your side and you see this is more than just a job for her. I would trust Cari with my life! Skill Builders has transformed my children and our family and I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for us!

Ari was then diagnosed with ASD and speech delay Aug 2020 (6 months after turning two), right in the thick of covid. To say I was exhausted, frustrated and almost ready to pull out all of my hair would be an understatement. But I wanted... No, I needed to get him the best care possible and knowing Ari, I knew that he needed to be in person with his therapists. He thrives off of positive, nurturing, fun, energetic and empowering energy from people around him. Fast forward two months after Ari's diagnosis. We were linked with Global behavior therapy first for ABA therapy. Dr. Kavita knew exactly what to look for! She paired my son with some good therapists but there was one that clicked and meshed very well with my son... Ari met above and beyond his set goals. While working with ABA, I voiced that I was looking for a new speech therapist... We were linked with Sensational kidz therapy (they are in the same building... How convenient). As soon as Ari did his intake with Ms. Tori, not only did I see the hearts flutter around his head, I knew he had linked and connected with her as well! Unfortunately, the ABA therapist parted ways from GBT and we hit a hazy part of therapy with some regressions and rough moments. But speech therapy continued to go strong! Fast forward 6 months later, Ari is doing so well with his vocalization of words, Expressing himself, and being as calm as he could possibly be... We have been linked with a new therapist for ABA and I pray that Ari clicks with her (I secretly thinks that he will). It takes a villiage to raise a child and I am thankful for Global Behavior Therapy and Sensational Kidz being in our village to help me with Ari.

Most of the therapists are doing their followership or find a better opportunity and leave. Our child has had 4 new speech therapists in one year. Most of the therapists at Ivy Rehab stick around 4-6 months before leaving. The therapists are actually highly motivated and involved in the sessions. Unfortunately, the consistency is not there at Ivy Rehab. Our child starts building rapport with a therapist only for them to leave. Scheduling is also a nightmare there. You have to call multiple times to get appointments as they're booked solid in the afternoons after 3pm. The front desk staff isn't great. Amil is quite easy to talk to and schedule appointments. On the other hand, Latonya is rude and always has an attitude that you can hear in her tone of voice.
