About a year ago I made it a priority to focus on my health, and The Fresh Plan has been a huge part of changing my lifestyle for the better. I've lost 95 lbs over the last year and, at fifty, feel stronger, healthier and better than I ever have. Having healthy, satisfying meals ready to go gives me a good and "built-in" answer to the always hard question "what is there to eat?"--and always having that answer creates the consistency it was so hard to maintain before. The Fresh Plan meals are delicious, and having four weeks' worth of menus is a great balance between variety and familiarity. And having it all delivered to your door couldn't be more convenient, especially now.

I've ordered from Meal Village a couple times and had great experiences including ordering online…read morewhich was very easy. Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!

The food is always delicious and I feel great feeding my family these easy to prepare meals! They have fewer prep steps and way less waste than other meal delivery companies we had tried in the past. I love that the drivers pick up the delivery bags to reuse. They will adapt most meals to your food preferences and make it clear if one has an ingredient that cant be removed (I hate mushrooms and its always quick and easy to see if they can send an option without them- never once has a meal come with them included!) The menu is located on a big board behind the counter. They have quite a lot of food items to choose from. You order and pay at the counter and you'll get a number to put on your table and they bring it out to you. They had me at horchata, plus it's self serve and you can get refills. The kicker? It's delicious horchata so I will be back. For my food I ordered breakfast enchiladas in red sauce and a side of hashbrowns. I didn't realize the enchiladas came with rice and beans so that was a lot of food so some got packaged up to go home. The space is clean, there's plenty of tables inside to dine in. I'm not normally a fan of seafood, but I have honestly eaten every bite that they've served me. I haven't had shrimp that fresh since I lived in Asia. And the vegetables are crisp and fresh, too. Secondly, the price is AMAZING for what you get, especially with inflation these days. If I were to order a very basic fast food meal from a delivery service, I'd expect to pay a minimum of $23 for each meal including the fees. The flat rate of $78 for six meals is INCREDIBLE for what you get. Thirdly, it's convenient. I don't need to (1) shop for groceries, (2) prepare the food and (3) clean up afterwards. Everything is taken care of. The microwave is the most complicated thing I'll have to deal with. And lastly, the portion sizes are perfect. It's just enough to fill me up without any leftovers. I'm eating EVERYTHING in the dish and nothing is going to waste. As someone who's recovering from serious illness and surgeries, this company has been a godsend.
