I liked the burger and the curly fries. They have a very large menu. The logistics of getting in and out of Schmale rd.as well as the pain points of going in for counter service rates a one-star rating for me. I did not figure in these factors into my rating. My best advice is to avoid going into the restaurant to order at the counter or to eat in the restaurant. There is no room to wait for your order to be prepared. The self serve beverage station and the order kiosks are right in the middle of where people wait for their order to be done. So it is continually "Excuse me..Excuse me..Sorry, I'm in your way." The restaurant was fully staffed and the workers were very nice. The ambiance of the eating area is poor. The booths have padding on the back but there is no padding on the seat. So you are sitting on a hard slap of formica. And of course if it is crowded, you may experience the overflow of people waiting for their counter order just hanging around your table. That is why I advise doing drive-through. I liked the food enough to try a different location. Getting and eating at a fast food place should not be this difficult.

The class setup was excellent, with ample room and neatly arranged cooking utensils for easy food preparation. I appreciated that the instructor handled some of the more laborious tasks before we started cooking. He prepared ingredients in front of us, sharing interesting facts about the cuisine and demonstrating excellent knife skills to ensure freshness and engagement. The 90 minutes flew by as we learned various techniques and explored different ingredients. The instructor guided us through each step, from managing the cooking flame to perfecting our knife skills, ensuring a well-prepared and delicious final dish. As someone who has no experience in the kitchen and was very scared of cooking, the instructor Alex made sure everyone was at ease and would walk around to help as needed. I'm eager to attend more classes here in the future and bring along some friends to share in the experience.

He was very entertaining and the cooking contest gave us all a lot of laughs. We loved the buffet dinner that followed that was delicious and healthy. I look forward to going back for some cooking lessons and perhaps other parties. We also appreciated the BYOB option where they supplied all the glassware and ice but we could purchase our own alcoholic beverages. Alex was very accommodating with our schedule since some guests arrived late and did not rush us out even though the party was scheduled to end at 9. They allowed us to take home our leftovers which was also kind and generous. It is definitely not a budget option for a party but less expensive than other cooking school options we explored.

I looked up highly rated Vietnamese restaurants and found Tasty House 1 in Carol Stream. This place is everything we anticipated it to be. The location is nice and has parking in front, inside is super spacious and had a relaxing and breathable ambiance. We ordered a family appetizer platter that came with all the delicious Vietnamese appetizers like: spring rolls, bbq marinated meat, fried eggrolls, grilled jumbo shrimp, meat wrapped in betel leaf, lettuce, noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, daikon, jalapeños, two dipping sauces: peanut butter hoisin and Vietnamese fish sauce. Another appetizer we got separately was the fried calamari which had a great crunchy texture, the absolute best! For our entrees I decided to build my own pho and chose tripe, rib eye steak and quail eggs. My husband got the spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue). This is honestly the best Vietnamese we've ever had in our lives!!!! I'm so glad I found this place. Awesome service, food and atmosphere. Zero complaints everything was very fresh and perfect. Our hearts left super happy.

There is a separate vegan menu with half a dozen things on it, and other than the drinks and desserts, pretty much nothing on the regular menu is vegetarian. (The papaya salad, which is on the vegan menu, is a ringer: it contains fish sauce.) You've got your choice of various fruit lemonades, bubble teas, popping bubble teas, jellies, etc. Desserts include flan, Vietnamese yogurt, coconut jelly - none of which you'll be eating onsite as you'll be too full after your entree. Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people. All of whom were happy.

Love the flavor of it...creamy, sweet & spicy and some crunch! The sushi rolls are solid as well. So many good rolls to choose from. I like the yaki udon. It's udon noodles stir fried with your choice of protein and veggies. I liked it before when there was some sweetness to it, but it looks like the recipe changed a bit and it is a bit more savory now. The tempura udon can definitely hit the spot on a cold night with its warm broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a large menu which made it very difficult to decide what to order. I ended up going with the Volcano, Green Bay, and the Chicago crazy Maki. When I arrived to pick up, there was quite a line and it looked like most of the tables were already full. I can see why the place is really busy because the food is excellent. I think I overlooked the Chicago crazy and missed that there wasn't any sauce in the ingredients so that was the most plain one which is fine for people that prefer sushi without any type of sauces. I am not that type of person so I definitely like the other two a lot. It's always great to know of a good sushi spot to go to in the neighborhood and I would definitely come back here.

I've ordered from Meal Village a couple times and had great experiences including ordering online…read morewhich was very easy. Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!
