They will adapt most meals to your food preferences and make it clear if one has an ingredient that cant be removed (I hate mushrooms and its always quick and easy to see if they can send an option without them- never once has a meal come with them included!) I am SO HAPPY to have found Chef Meals on the Go! There's a number of great things about this…read moreamazing company: Firstly, EVERYTHING is remarkably fresh. Even the seafood. I'm not normally a fan of seafood, but I have honestly eaten every bite that they've served me. I haven't had shrimp that fresh since I lived in Asia. And the vegetables are crisp and fresh, too. Secondly, the price is AMAZING for what you get, especially with inflation these days. If I were to order a very basic fast food meal from a delivery service, I'd expect to pay a minimum of $23 for each meal including the fees. The flat rate of $78 for six meals is INCREDIBLE for what you get. Thirdly, it's convenient. I don't need to (1) shop for groceries, (2) prepare the food and (3) clean up afterwards. Everything is taken care of. The microwave is the most complicated thing I'll have to deal with. And lastly, the portion sizes are perfect. It's just enough to fill me up without any leftovers. I'm eating EVERYTHING in the dish and nothing is going to waste. As someone who's recovering from serious illness and surgeries, this company has been a godsend. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've ordered from Meal Village a couple times and had great experiences including ordering online…read morewhich was very easy. Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!

Back in September, I began searching for a food delivery service for reasons of convenience and to…read morestop myself from eating so much! The criteria were: (1) good food, (2) portion controlled entrees, and (3) reliable delivery. Early in 2010 my favorite food delivery company sadly went out of business. My first rebound was with Choice Eating, which proved to serve tasteless and sometimes inedible dishes. Fortunately, Eat Like the Pros fits all of my criteria. Here's the process: Their website lists all of the entrees (breakfast, lunch/dinner, snacks) that are available during a specific week (the menu changes weekly). Each item is available in different portions (ex. 300, 600 calories, etc.) that you can choose from. After you choose your items via their website, your delivery is at the front door around 5:30 a.m. It's that simple; you never have to wait for a delivery guy. Most importantly, the food is spectacular. It's like having your own personal chef where YOU get to choose what you want to eat (instead of having one prefix menu). My favorite entrees include the beef stew, thai coconut chicken, and the brisket. I highly recommend this service for busy professionals or those who need a little portion control to lose weight.

This plan also was 3 meals a day for 7 days. I felt horrible wasting food if I had a dinner planned. So, I started the search for an alternative meal program and found Eat Like the Pros. The delivery dates are Monday (order by 10am Friday) and Thursday (order by 10am on Monday). I am so impressed with the quality of food. Everything is flavorful and fresh. There are plenty of options in each category: entrees, veggies, starches, breakfast, snacks, etc. And a variety of calorie counts depending on what your need is. Everything has been delicious and made me think...how did they get all of that flavor into a 225 calorie piece of fish or chicken. They deliver the food in a cooler bag with ice packs. You leave your bag out the night of a deliver and the driver swaps out the empty bag with ice packs for a bag with food & ice packs. Very simple. They deliver (usually) by 6am. I think the cost is reasonable for the quality of the food and compared to some of the other organic programs. There is no minimum order. I tend to use Eat Like the Pros more for dinner meals, some lunches, and snacks. I am on my own for breakfast and some lunches. I am very happy and excited to try new meals. The other positive is this program is gluten free and soy free. The prior plan I was on included a lot of breads and pastas. I do eat gluten...but it is much more limited now. I feel so much better on this program and have more consistent energy. Highly recommend!
