I give this place 2 stars given that it was clean and the front desk staff were very nice. I'm a PA…read morein the ER and decided to stop by this place rather than pay a higher copay at work to get a simple blood test. I see that there are 3 people ahead of me that looked like they were all there with a viral upper respiratory infection which seemed like it would be quick (I typically see patients like this in a few minutes and discharge them quickly unless I get a chest X-ray, but can still keep seeing new patients while waiting for it). I was told by the front desk staff the doctors would be with me "shortly" which should never be said if your service is slow. I waited for 1 hour and 30 min until I was called...just to get vital signs. I was then placed in a room and had to wait an additional 20 min. I could have had faster service in my busy ER. I finally see the doctor who types on his iPad the entire time (you would think this would make them more efficient, but no), who then tells me that they don't perform this blood test there (I was requesting a D dimer for possible PE). I was also told that I would need a CT scan of my chest to rule this out anyway, which is not true. When I told him (respectfully) that this was a waste of time and I need to get going, he told me that urgent care centers don't perform this test. I'm affiliated with the Partners healthcare system in Boston and they ALL perform this test. So bottom line, complete waste of time, very inefficient urgent care for the type of patients they had in the waiting room and lack of specific blood tests that every basic medical facility should have. Don't waste your time. I read the urgent care across the street is better and let's you check in online, so go there instead!

Zero rating. Horrible. Got there 6:55pm in the worst pain of my life and they told me I couldn't be…read moreseen. Mind you, there was ONE person in the waiting room and they don't close till 8:00pm. Disgraceful.

Dr Helfand has been my primary care doctor for over five years now. I have never met a Doctor who…read moretruly cares about his patients more than him. After a bad car accident in 2011 and 3 surgeries later I tried to contact him but he was on vacation. He called me from his cellphone from across the country. He Also emailed with me back and forth until he was able to see me in the office. Some of my injuries had me in his office at least once every couple of weeks for at least a year. He never got frustrated with me and has been amazing. I could never thank him enough. The staff is also awesome. Always friendly and positive.

After about one minute, I experienced a sharp pain that felt like an electrical shock shoot down the length of my left arm. I have never experienced anything like it before. So, figuring it's better to be safe then sorry, I decided to go to the Family Care Medical Center on Allen Street in Springfield, which does urgent care. They are administered by Trinity Health, of which I am a member, so they have access to my medical records. I looked them up online and it said they were open until 7 p.m. Well, I got there at 5:30 p.m., and the doors were locked and the lights were off. But the sign on the door said their hours were from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. So I called the phone number on the door, and a woman answered. I asked her why they were not open, and she replied that all of their appointments for the day were full, so they weren't taking anybody else and closed early. So I said to her, ""I thought you were an urgent care facility that accepted walk-in patients?" She said, "We are, but we're short-staffed and don't have anybody to look at any more patients." She said they suggest that patients go to the emergency room. I told her, "The reason I came here is because I don't want to spend all night sitting in an emergency room!" It seems to me that if you are an "Urgent Care" facility that takes walk-ins, and you advertise that you are open until 7 p.m., you should stay open until 7 p.m. in case somebody shows up needing urgent care ... even it it's at 6:55 p.m.!

I visited them last night (Memorial Day) at 7pm for an acute sinus issue. They were very efficient…read morefrom check-in right on through. There were a half dozen or so people ahead of me at the time, yet things still went smoothly. From the time I filled out the paperwork to seeing the triage nurse was about 10 minutes, then another 15-20 after that to finally see the doctor. In all, I was in and out of there in just over an hour. Given how much closer they are to me than my (albeit extremely flexible scheduling) PCP, combined with their service and the only out of pocket being the same PCP Copay, I would have no reservations with going there again. To those that complain about a "3 hour wait", I would expect that they would prioritize certain patients over others based on severity... at least that's how I would want and expect it if I had a more threatening issue. Being that they bring patients in to triage them before queuing for the doctors themselves, it may often seem like others are seen ahead of you when they are actually not. And remember, there's always the other option: Go to the ER, wait several hours if not longer, AND pay a lot more out of pocket!

Mixed feelings but more positive than negative…read more Not going to go into details about why I was here but wanted to give some feedback about my experience. *The patient parking lot desperately needs to have the lines repainted. Multiple cars taking up two spots. *For coming in on a late weekend morning the service was quick for what needed to be done. In and out of the waiting room a couple times but not a long wait. When the sun is shining through the windows the warmth of a winter day feels nice. *When finally taken into the ER the service that was provided for my partner was very well. She was highly concerned from previous visits at her own medical places that when drawing blood she was getting pricked multiple times because they couldn't find the vein. She requested an ultrasound which the person who conducted it did it in the first try but wasn't completely successful but it worked enough. The main care taker, Emma?, was fantastic and made my partner very comfortable. I gave her that feedback which cheered up her day. *I noticed on the drapes around the bed where I was sitting had some stains on them. I brought it to Emma's attention and she said she would have the cleaners take care of it. I typically don't need to go to hospitals. I'm what they consider "boring " which is good. But I would come here if I needed immediate attention for something.
