I was suppose to have a follow up lab appointment this month, my chart says the order is in place with the lab but when I went last week and waited in line at the lab, there was nothing scheduled. When I got back home on 11-13 I used my chart to message them to find out why, I would have went to the office right then but had to be somewhere else. It says "response within 48 hours...." here it is one week later and still no response. I called on Friday the 15th and was on hold for 40 minutes before I hung up, (yes, crazy but I was doing other things while on hold) I thought something has to be wrong with their phones. I did however try back , twice, and was on hold for 20 minutes each. I just tried now again, and was on hold for 18 minutes before I hung up. Since I will be in the area (its a 40 minute drive for me) I will physically stop at the office. The really sad thing is I just switched my insurance carrier when I was notified that they Riverbend would no longer be part of my plan, and having several tests set up for next year I didn't want to go through all that rescheduling with someone new. I'm seriously thinking that was a big mistake, I should have stayed with my old carrier and found another doctors office. I like that I can do everything there, but if no one ever answers the phone.....what good is it?

She opted to test for Covid and the flu which is understandable. The tests both came back negative and I stated I would need antibiotics because it's the only thing that works or I'll get worse. She said that I should simply rest and it'll run its course. Not listening to her patient caused me to get pneumonia and now I'm out of work again with worse symptoms way more pills to take all because they won't give antibiotics or listen to their patients.

I was assigned to Katlyn Lavin PA-C. My initial visit seemed fine but a little off. The nurse in charge of taking my initital vitals was pleasant enough, even though she seemed a bit unsure of herself. When she attempted to take my temperature she explained that the thermometer was a "bit temperamental". She was unable to make it work and said we would get back to that. Although we never did. Also, in taking a basic eye test, they made me stand in a hall with one eye covered reading letters off a chart. Seems easy enough. Except, at least 3 people walked down the same narrow hall which was incredibly distracting. All of that could be overlooked if the rest was consistent, but far from it. I had several blood tests taken as well as an EKG. I was told that if anything was off with the results, the doctor would call. I was also asked to make an appointment for the following week to have a Holter monitor attached for 48 hours. While speaking to the woman at the front desk, she asked if I needed an appointment card. i did not as I had entered it in my phone. When I showed up Monday, no one had put me in the books. Perhaps, they need to make their own appointment cards. After only a short wait (once again, this makes sense now), my monitor was put in place and then I was handed an appointment for a specialist in Springfield. I was told my blood results were not back yet, they were setting up a total of 3 appointments with different specialists for varying conditions. I am all for being cautious, but this seemed completely peculiar as I just had the monitor put on AND, the PA still had not called. 2 days later, I returned the monitor. Katlyn was not in the office and my blood results still weren't in. This was a week after the "2-3 day" window they had initially told me it would take. Funnily enough, when I opened my mail 2 hours later, my blood results were there with some pretty shocking news. News that the Dr. or PA or whomever was supposed to call me with. I called for 2 days in a row to ask questions. Stacey told me Katlyn was with other patients and she would hand deliver the messages. No reply. But I keep getting mail from the appointments set up from specialists. This seems to be a practice that treats patients like a Production Line. Don't waste your time as they clearly won't waste theirs.

I've scheduled appointments for example 2:00pm and arrive on time and doesn't get seen until about 2:45pm. Once meeting the doctor she interrupts when your describing your symptoms and when touching you she's not giving you the same treatment as the last client before you and barely wants to touch you. I've believe in giving people benefit of a doubt but when it's displayed on several times then there's a problem. Too many apologies isn't enough for poor customer service and how you pick and choose who you want to serve. And not valuing customers time and money spent in health care insurance and quality. Racism is shown so often when I come and I definitely miss the previous owner and doctor. I will be searching for another eye care specialist. I should be leaving a doctors office at 3:45pm when scheduled for a 2pm and is on time. As a social worker this is unacceptable.

Had my original appointment because they never called. The major thing is I went in to get new frames. They didn't have any available that I liked because they were limited being on mass health. I found some that they said they would order because they needed new inventory anyways. Said they would call. After more than 6 weeks, nothing. I called to ask and they said I had to make an appointment to come in to see if they were there. I am sorry, why should I have to waste time and money (for gas used) to just see if they were there. They couldn't find any note that I saw was written. I am doubting now that they even had a wait list for cancelled appointments to get in sooner. Not recommended.

Even if you have an appointment time expect to wait an extra 15-20 minutes passed that time before you are to be seen (excluding PT). I found issue with the MD that was evaluating me. Overall, there was an egregious disregard of his patient's needs. The MD lacked professionalism, and came off angry, dismissive & rushed. I got into an accident at work where I was hit by someone driving power equipment. I was scheduled by the MD to return to work THE NEXT DAY. I had to return to this office three separate times. Each time I requested that I be given time to properly rest before being assessed and returning to work. Each time I returned, the doctor would enter the room with a look that said "WHY am I seeing you again" and an attitude that grew progressively worse. I was informed, that "We work with this company all the time, they know how this goes." They should be sending you home if there is no work". His attitude and demeanor towards me explaining my pain was coming off dismissive, rude and lacking professionalism. Ultimately, there was too much back and forth between the job and the Doctor so I felt stuck as to give in and be at work while I was still freshly injured. I was bad enough to require PT but not bad enough to receive time to rest for the first few days after the accident. During my second visit, an x-ray was preformed. I was notified by the MD that their X-ray couldn't detect hairline fractures so it was going to be sent out to be looked at. I received no word or update. Upon my 4th or 5th follow-up I was still experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath. The MD stated he was to order a CT scan. I was told to expect a call. I had to reach out to this office to get the number for the CT scheduling. I called and was informed that I had to wait for THEM to call me. In total I called twice to try and schedule. I, to this day, have not received that phone call. I ended up having to go to the ER to be seen due to my concern over my chest injury and shortness of breath. My last visit felt rushed and dismissive as well. I informed the MD where I was still experiencing some pain in a specific area. I was simply asked to do a few stretches and the guy was just like " YUP, You're good to go back to full duty. I don't have to see you again." Overall, it became difficult to trust the word of the MD as his continued dismissals over how my body was feeling became almost an argument for the first few visits. I worry his dislike for me got in the way of his ability to do his job and he wiped his hands clean with it in the end at the cost of my care. One star rating only for the grace of the staff. Without them, the place would probably be a shit show.

Instead, the provider didn't perform any kind of assessment, didn't come close to examine me, and didn't even check my pupils. He told me I "looked fine" and asked if I was going back to work, which felt completely dismissive given the situation. When I questioned how he could make that call without examining me, he said it was because I was talking fine and my eyes tracked him when he spoke--from across the room. When I pushed further, he became condescending and told me maybe I needed to see another doctor if I didn't agree with him. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to a manager about the situation, he told me he was the manager. This experience made me feel dismissed, unheard, and concerned about the quality of care being provided. I would not recommend this location, especially for anything involving head injuries or situations requiring careful evaluation.
