The bread and pastries are fresh and delicious. Best conchas in town! Reasonable prices, friendly staff and the store is always clean.

Midtown Cakes definitely gets the job done. I've had the pleasure of having 2 cakes done by this…read moreestablishment and have been nothing less than satisfied. I highly recommend them! You will not be disappointed!

Engaged couples beware!…read more Don't waste your money on a cake tasting here!!!!! You pay 25$ for 4 cupcakes !!! They are 2.75 a piece, literally just come in and try 1 or 2 to see if you like them. Then pay for the consult if you really want. Paying for a consult is ridiculous anyway but it goes towards your cake. So just make sure you try a cupcake first and look through their facebook to see if the cakes are what your looking for. They are ripping you off for 25$ and 4 cupcakes. We thought it would be for cakes. That we could say ok were paying for ingredients and labor for them to make cakes like EVERY OTHER BAKERY DOES. Noone wants to try cupcakes for a wedding CAKE tasting. They taste differently! They justify you paying , and I quote "we stop everything we're doing to sit and talk to you". (rudely said) we almost left right there. by the way...we waited 30 minutes for someone to talk to us. The girl dropped cupcakes off at our table and walked away for another 20 mins. We didn't like them and wondered...do we leave? Do they even come talk to us? Wth did we pay for? They actually helped other customers before us. We literally sat there laughing because we were completely ignored for SO long. They also pass off birthday cake as their french vanilla saying well, it's the same batter. It's covered in sprinkles! It also only tastes like birthday cake. Oh and the 25 you paid for the consult isn't even with the baker. It's with the cashier/ assistant baker. The lady who would be baking and designing our cake never came out of the back. No thanks on this place. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the chocolate cake was really good. Like really good. We would use them for the grooms cake if we wanted to support them in any way.

I consider myself a cake lover for sure and have had my fair share of purchasing delicious cakes…read moreand have had amazing cake designers. Baking is definitely an art and an art I do not have myself, but I'm beyond willing to purchase and pay the price for what I want. This place is a disaster, but will go straight to what matters. We purchased a three tier cake two of the tiers on the bottom being dummies and only a 9in on top was real. We paid $242 for a 9in cake with two dummies. Again if I would have got what I wanted I really wouldn't care. Let's start with the quality of the cake. OMG! first of all who ever baked the cake isn't a baker. The middle was moist but about 1in of the cake towards the outside was hard as a rock. We literally had to dig to get the good part of the cake. The chocolate was so lite didn't even taste like a good chocolate cake. I asked for chocolate mousse and that was the weakest mousse ever had no volume nor fluff. So safe to say the cake itself was bad. We would have been better going to fresh market or sams. Now the Embellishments and decor was so out dated and it had no pop nor anything extravagant look. Mind you I paid $242 because I wanted a show stopper cake for my sons 1st bday. I was extremely disappointed with not only the quality of cake but beyond disappointed with the art work. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Nice people but it takes more then being nice to run a successful bakery. They also added a smash cake for pictures when my son went to obviously smash it the cake was rock hard with frost bite. My mouth just dropped. Now the owner did give me a discount in the morning because the cake wasn't done and ready at the time agreed on. Honestly I could have looked past all that. What I can't look past is the quality, lack of decor and professionalism. We will not be purchasing our wedding cake nor husbands retirement cake from here this follow year.

Absolutely best owner, baker, and sweets EVER!!! You cannot go wrong with anything you get from…read morehere.

What a gem! Very cool that it's a renovated concept that still pays homage to its history here. And…read moreit has the most extensive menu I've ever seen for a place that really could be considered a coffee shop. That said, it really is more than that- they have a full lunch menu, pastry case, coffee/tea, smoothies, wine/beer, and even a fridge of to-go desserts. Lots of seating inside and out, and free wifi. I sat and worked for a couple hours! This will definitely be on the constant rotation whenever I come to town. Today I ordered a cappucino with oat milk and a build your breakfast sandwich on sourdough with bacon, egg, and white cheddar. It was perfectly toasted and tasted great! Not super loaded/filling, but honestly it was super affordable so could double up on proteins easily for a bigger meal.

Holy cow is this place busy! I think this is THE coffee place in town and if there is a convention…read moreor event (and there were many this weekend), it's going to be packed. Even with their extremely efficient systems and team, if it is busy, expect a 20 min or more wait. Inside is very cute, keeping history with the bank vaults and little nooks, and charm with their eclectic chandeliers. I do not know if they have an ADA accessible restroom. The coffee is really tasty and slurpable (had hot and iced drinks, never got a frozen drink though) and if you get a specialty flavored drink, are not overly sweet. On one visit, got the Mediterranean quiche, which is gluten free (all their quiches are crustless!) and it was honestly one of the best quiches I've ever had, even before developing a gluten allergy. Extremely cheesy and flavorful. Very cute, fun, high energy cafe.
