The people were fun to be with and did a great job. The food was good and well prepared. The bingo was fun. Will go back soon.

This is specifically related to the rental cabins. We did not eat at the lodge but have heard good…read morethings. As far as the cabins, it's hard to give a sub par review because I really wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt but in the end, it really just wasn't what we were expecting and hope others can learn from it. I will start with the pros: clean cabins, close lake access with docks for boats to pull in, great area to walk in, safe and quiet, close to downtown Hayward, cabin 5 had a great screened in porch, AC is a plus, had fun fishing on the lake but had to get out of the bay. Cons: resort term used loosely as there are minimal amenities, no swimming beach, lodge closed Sun-Tues, boat rental not available on site (although brochure says it is), many missing kitchen tools in cabins, was told all cabins came with bedding but there were only sheets - you'll need to bring your own pillows and blankets, you're kind of on your own once you check in as as property managers did not seem be accessible/available for questions or help after hours, don't expect cell service. We made the most of it and it was an overall decent place to stay but felt a little mislead and wish we'd have asked more questions/had more info about what we were really getting.

Great side salad and perfectly baked potato. Super friendly staff and cute little lodge on the lake atmosphere. Also- pretty amazing fried chicken. I believe they serve this any time. So happy I discovered this little gem on Nelson Lake. Have been wanting to try their Friday fish fry, maybe next time I am in the area. Go try this place.......now! Kitchen open Wednesday through Sunday. And they have Happy Hour (3-6). That's all.
