This charming inn was recommended by a friend who said we should treat ourselves when we were in Hayward. She did not steer us wrong. The rooms are both beautiful and comfortable, the grounds are lovely, and there is a restaurant if you are interested in more than just their breakfast, which is outstanding. Visited twice in a week and same situation. Half of the menu was sold out. The menu is already limited so we had a choice of a burger and a pork sandwich. That was it. We used to live in Hayward and have seen this wonderful old logging-era home go through many transformations. We were thrilled a few years ago when some friends gave us a gift certificate. This is an incredible spot for Hayward and a great getaway. The innkeepers are very attentive and creative. The house is impeccably maintained. We happened to be in Hayward for the night and found McCormick House online. What a great blessing that turned out to be. The place is every bit as beautiful as the website portrays it. The service was wonderful. We were welcomed into the inn as though we were visiting good friends... good friends with a huge beautifully decorated mansion! The only problem with our stay is that it only lasted one night. I hope to come back some day, only for a longer stay and with some friends so that we can play croquet in the amazing gardens. A great find for a variety of travelers... Cabins abound in Hayward, but luxury and comfort are a little hit-or-miss. The McCormick House is in downtown Hayward, on a large lot with a beautiful garden in the back. The hotel if pristine, very well furnished and decorated, and doesn't miss a beat in ensuring that guests have access to all sorts of comforts. The owners are extremely kind, and the breakfast is wonderful. Great for B&B regulars, getaway weekends, as an alternative to the typical Northwoods Hayward retreat, etc. read more

This inn is a stately home, beautifully restored and furnished. It's elegant, but not stuffy. The owner, Mary, was gracious, warm, and inviting. Pack your bathing suit and hang out in the hot tub on the back patio. A perfect place to stay. I will definitely be back. read more

We have a room booked here for April and it will be our 5th time staying here. Each year we have a family weekend in Hayward and use it as a chance to stay at a nice place and do some antiquing. We have always enjoyed staying here and is one of our favorite B&Bs. The rooms are really nice, I love the toiletries and the breakfast is fantastic. Last year my husband and I were both a little tired when we arrived and the owner was nice enough to make us cappuccinos as a pick me up. He also has snacks out for guests to eat as well as a fridge full of soda and water. He also recommended some area restaurants to try. We ended up choosing the Angry Minnow (another place I would recommend). If you've never stayed at a B&B, you will love staying here. read more
