Being from San Antonio I'm used to getting tortillas with my plate but that is not always the case here in El Paso. That is literally the only thing that I can think of that I didn't like. One place I always have to visit is Chico's Tacos. Chico's has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we spent many Sundays there, and my favorite location was the original McRae location. It was only about two minutes from our house. I still miss that place. Their food has never disappointed me. The rolled tacos covered in their famous sauce and topped with cheese are still as good as I remember. I always add their green chile salsa. It is so good and gives the tacos the perfect kick. When I finish the tacos, there is always some sauce, melted cheese, and green chile salsa left in the bowl. Instead of letting it go to waste, I pour it over my French fries. French fries? Yes! That is the Chico's way, rolled tacos and fries. The fries covered in the sauce, cheese, and green chile salsa are so good. Then there is the hot dog. They serve two hot dogs split down the middle in a hamburger bun and top them with chili beans. I have no idea who came up with that combination, but it has been on the menu for as long as I can remember. One thing I love about Chico's is that they have not changed much over the years. The food is still the same, which is exactly how I like it. The only thing that has really changed is the price. I remember when my dad could take the family there and spend around $20. Those days are long gone! The only thing that surprised me this visit was that they no longer use the classic paper bowls with the Chico's logo. They have switched to plain generic bowls. It is a small change, but it made me a little nostalgic. Chico's Tacos never disappoints. Every visit brings back great memories, and it still tastes like home.

You got it - the weenie comes sliced up inside a hamburger bun with chili, mustard, onions - your classic chili dog components. Fries? Crinkly and delicious. Security guard inside because it can get a little rowdy here late at night? Check. If you come to El Paso, come to Chico's. It is the first stop for returning natives, and the last stop of a great night out on the town.

If you have a food allergy or need to omit specific ingredients, DO NOT COME HERE. I rarely leave bad reviews and always try to give businesses the opportunity to redeem themselves, however this was absolutely earned. Ordered a plain fajita burrito with beans, avocado, and cheese. Is that what they gave me? No. I live out here in Horizon. Get home open the foil, low and behold, it's not the right order. Can't call because they're closed. Wait till today and let them know that they made a mistake. They want the burrito back. Whatever I still have it, right, however, some of us also have to work too (except I actually can do my job right, and can't just up and leave my job because YOU can't do your job correctly the first time) Was told by the employees and manager, you're pretty much SOL if you can't return it now. So I have to LEAVE work, drive all the way home to Horizon, THEN drive all the way back... because YOU don't know how to do your job? I even asked if I can take it in the morning and was denied. Since you don't want to correct YOUR OWN mistake, I will be leaving bad reviews everywhere and just wait for social media. The total for two burritos came out to $30. So I literally spent $15 for an incorrect, basic burrito, and EXTREMELY bad customer service. If they're this lax and lazy in doing their job right or even bothering to correct that mistake, who knows what's wrong with the restaurant and the kitchen. Maybe the city needs to inspect, just in case. I also wonder how many other people they've stolen money from....

Once for dinner and the other for breakfast. For dinner we took our food to-go and ordered a fish taco, shrimp taco and California burritos for the rest of the family. All was good, but I have to admit that I've had better fish tacos and wouldn't order that again. Still good tho! The burritos were great. In fact, our next visit was for breakfast burritos and they were so good and filling I couldn't even finish mine! Worth the price for sure. I ordered bacon, egg and cheese and the bacon wasn't fatty at all, and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. My husband ordered the country burrito which contained eggs, potatoes and cheese. He added steak and that hit the spot! We dined in and the staff were very friendly and courteous. They even brought our food to our table when we could have easily walked up to the counter to pick it up. We're so happy to have found a taco shop close to our home that satisfies our San Diegan taste buds. This could be a problem lol. I'll be bringing my brother here when he comes to visit. Usually, my bank will slow down processing credit card transactions when something triggers fraudulent activity. When I did my monthly bill relook, I noticed that the math was not mathing between the receipt that was brought to my table, and the final receipt that was given to me by the cashier. The final bill at the cashier added $1.38 to it. Most of us don't pay attention to what is going on with small amounts like that. The reason why I was able to figure out the difference is because I always photograph the 'table receipt' out of habit, just in case. Well, snapping that photo paid off this time. I don't know what went on with the credit card charge that Carnitas Tio Juan sent to my bank, but it begs the question of whether some questionable charge was attempted on my card. BE VIGILENT!
