I love the unique styles that I can choose from, styles you will not see anywhere else. I love the way each garment fits as if it's tailor made for me. You can imagine what my expectation was regarding what type of clothes I would encounter. I took her, b/c I'm a good daughter, not b/c I was expecting to enjoy a single moment of my time in the shop. My initial impression couldn't be farther from my actually experience. We drove into an unassuming strip mall and was immediately directed to the shop by signs posted along the parking lot (good idea). As we pull up, we are greeted by a hot pink "red" carpet and window dressing far from grandma/elderly woman's clothing. As we enter, we are immediately greeted by the beautiful diva owner, Giovanna, who verbally directed us to the store layout. My compadre's browsed, but when Giovann noticed I wasn't delving into the clothing racks (i'm not much of a shopper), she came over to me and questioned me on what my 'style' was. Which left me speechless, b/c again, I'm not a shopper and am not the kind of girl who has any idea what "style" I prefer. So, she broke it down for me. "Tell me how you like to 'feel', not how you like to look". Thus began all of our journey into diva-hood. For the next 2 hours, we tried on clothes all while Diva Giovanna showed us tips on how to bring out our best features, how to pose in a way that creates the best pictures, and what looks would work best on our bodies...she even took pictures of us in her clothes to show us how amazing we looked. It wasn't shopping. It was an experience in celebrating womanliness! There is something for everyone in this shop (even a little dog and a piano), casual, fancy, REALLY FANCY... She will make you try on things you didn't even know you would look good in and she will style you. She will make you feel like a princess, and you will leave with clothes, jewelry, accessories that will actually look like your best self. Head to G shop to get your DIVA on!

The staff is super friendly and the clothes and accessories are on-trend. The selection and variety is great, and I saw several fun pieces that are just my style. They get new styles weekly, and you can order online, which is great for someone who doesn't live close. The prices are very reasonable, especially for a boutique. And their rewards program makes it even better. I'll be swinging by anytime I'm nearby and stalking their site for their newest pieces.

I can always count on Blush for every occasion, from Formal events (such as a dress that I bought from there this year, for my husband's upscale Christmas party) as well as more relaxing occasion (such as my upcoming beach vacation). The customer service is also a huge plus! I have never gone into that store and not felt like a priority, even down to the point where the sales associates will always assist you by taking the clothes from you and personally prepare your dressing room while you still shop. Today I had the pleasure of donating slightly used bras for a charitable event that Blush Boutique hosted. Not only did I feel good about donating, but I also got to enjoy wine and a small meal in the process! Blush Boutique is definitely my go to stop to for all my needs :)

When I entered the store, the sales associate did not acknowledge me at all -- no greeting, no offer of help. As I walked through the store, she followed me closely from section to section, including into the fitting area where there were additional sales items. However, when two white women entered the store shortly after, the same associate immediately greeted them and offered assistance. When I approached the register to request the store manager's contact information, the assistant manager identified herself and I calmly explained what had occurred. At that point, the associate claimed she never even noticed me -- despite having followed me around the store the entire time. As I was leaving because I no longer felt welcome, the associate became hostile and yelled at me, stating that she "gets along with the assistant manager" who happens to be Black," which was completely inappropriate and deeply revealing. I am a Black woman. The associate is white. The customers who were greeted and assisted were white. The difference in treatment was clear. I was made to feel watched, unwelcome, and devalued as a customer. What I was wearing -- leggings and a hoodie -- should not determine whether I am treated with basic dignity or assumed to be suspicious. I hold a LOFT credit card and was fully prepared to shop. This was not just poor customer service. It was biased treatment that requires immediate attention. The associate needs serious customer service and bias training, and store leadership must address how this situation was handled. No customer should ever leave a store feeling humiliated, profiled, or unwelcome. I did.

Immediately upon trying to enter the store we were stopped with a hand to our face telling us we weren't allowed in in a very nasty tone because I had children with me. Despite there being a small child already inside. My oldest went ahead of me so I could park and there was no reception for me to call or text her to have her come outside so we waited in 86 degrees in front of the store until I finally peeked my head in to ask if someone could send my daughter out. This is where things took an even worse turn. The woman and her husband were seemingly bothered by me asking for them to send my daughter out as she tried on dresses telling me to "just close the door". They came outside and told me while my kids sat on the curb to tell me kids touch things and break stuff and I told them my kids weren't going to do that and she says this isn't against you it's just store policy. All I wanted was to get my daughter a nice prom dress I didn't see the sign that said no kids because her sisters and I were excited to see the dresses on display and what should have been a beautiful memory turned in to a terrible nightmare. The man held the door closed so we couldn't enter and when I walked away to wait for my daughter in the car and put her sisters in the air conditioning the man then followed me to my car. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Another client walked past and said the woman had a terrible attitude and she was absolutely correct. Save your money and go elsewhere!!

But, the shelves are usually in disarray, and the staff is almost nowhere to be found. I think the only staff member we've ever seen is at the checkout and even then she's only there to assist with the self-checkout folks. It's fine if you need some seasonal items like pool toys or swim gear. Their selection is spotty at best, though, and very limited in general. It's fine for party favors or the like, but not really for general shopping. If you're in the neighborhood, it's an interesting place to just browse, but don't expect any help on finding something. You're kind of at the mercy of the stock that's visible.

She then continued to stand behind me and not pay any attention to the other customer (who was Caucasian). The manager approached and I asked her if this was a new policy to stand over customers and she replied that they are supposed to actually ring our items. Well, how is it self checkout and you have 3 registers open with them all occupied and one associate: Yea ok, here's another excuse being used to stereotype shoppers of color. Yes, I said what I said!!
