    A hair from BBQ Chicken

I found a hair in my chicken and when I showed the waitress, she simply said oh the chefs bald, when the hair was clearly hers crumbled up the napkin threw it away and made me pay full price. Don't eat here unless you want to be treated like shit.

This place is not getting the praise it deserves. The food here is fantastic! A lot of my friends dismiss this place due to the name. Despite the name they have a wide selection on their menu. I have tried the fajitas, brisket, chicken, and sausage. All were savory. My friends have ordered the burgers and love them. Heck they even have Nachos and Caldo de Res. I go there at least once a week and you should defenitly check it out. Update: I forgot to mention how friendly the service is there. Good service should always be recognized.

I came here for a late lunch and ordered the Plato Perron. There was so much food that I literally ended up taking most of it with me. It's a great value for the price. The brisket was my favorite, and I'm usually not a huge fan of brisket. It was super soft and flavorful. The place wasn't all that crowded, so service was quick and attentive. I was very pleased.

I don't recommend this place the waitress was rude and the food was disgusting. The rice looked like it was reheated and then left out for a long time. The sausage was was all burned and hard.

Chicken Run. Lunch with friends. Great place food, prices, clean, polite. Great service. Went back two days later for dinner with hubby. Bad deal. We had to walk out. Stick to lunch.

    Meal for two

Great food. Ordered the meal for 2 which was $17.99 I believe. Definitely filling and really good too.

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed- it appears that your employee can't even handle or try to resolve or get a hold of the owners to get an issue resolved - I ordered tostadas asked specifically that you not put white cheese as I don't eat white cheese requested yellow cheese as I always do !! But still they came with white cheese ., while I waited for Vanessa to call back after 15 minutes o had to call her back only for her to tell me she can't get a hold of either of the owners suggested I call back in 30 minutes- this is is laughable to say the least here all while my guests has all ready ate there meal ... then she suggested I go pick it up !! Upon calling to advise of the mistake she stated it wasn't her fault there was nothing she could do , the other employee had just left and she had just arrived what a crock of sorry excuses!!! UPDATE !! called chicken run back to see if Vanessa got a hold of owners she stated she did - owners don't seem to care to much , just goes to show why some businesses suffer , it's really sad to say the least - they will most likely end up blaming employees for being careless with their business. They should not expect their employees to run their establishment for them!!!

Unfortunately, tonight was another disappointing experience, this time while celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. Our reservation was for 7:15 PM. They are very quick to text you reminding you that your table is reserved for a limited amount of time, which is ironic considering how long the service actually takes. Our server was friendly and seemed knowledgeable about both the menu and the restaurant's background. However, every single recommendation he made throughout the evening happened to be one of the most expensive options on the menu. And I mean EVERYTHING--from the cocktails to the dessert. At some point, it starts to feel less like genuine recommendations and more like an attempt to increase the bill, especially when a 20% gratuity was already included. Our server recommended that we place our orders right away because the evening rush was about to begin. He then left and didn't return for another 25 minutes to actually take our order. Our table was directly next to the kitchen, where the chef spent much of the evening loudly yelling at the staff. It was loud enough that the surrounding tables were clearly noticing, and it made for a very awkward dining experience. Straight out of a *Hell's Kitchen* episode. Two hours into our reservation, we were finally served our guacamole. Yes, it took TWO HOURS to get guacamole. I ordered the 36 oz. cowboy steak medium, which should have had a hot pink center and been cooked to approximately 135-145°F internally. Instead, the steak arrived well done, with a severely burnt crust and gray meat throughout. It was so overcooked that I could honestly still be chewing it as I write this. Keep in mind, this is a $100+ steak. I decided not to complain because, at that point, I was starving and did not want to wait another two hours for a replacement. What made it worse was that no one even came by to ask how the steak was. And skip the truffle fries. They should honestly be called "truffle strings." Good luck finding an actual potato in them. For a $200 tab for two people, this was extremely disappointing. I'm posting the receipt to show that our drinks were ordered at 7:19 PM and our bill wasn't paid until 10:30 PM. That's a **3 hour and 15 minute dinner**--and no, it was definitely not that long because we wanted it to be. By the end, I was more than ready to leave after spending what felt like half a shift at work sitting at the table. What makes this review especially frustrating is that I know this restaurant is capable of being excellent. I've had experiences here where the food and service were truly exceptional. That's why it's so disappointing to see such a huge disconnect between what this place can be and what we experienced tonight. I genuinely hope they are able to turn things around because this restaurant has the potential to be one of the best. Unfortunately, tonight was nowhere close.

The most important part is that if you ask for water you will get FIGI water because Brownsville water has contaminants that are EPA approved but in the long run not safe. The server was quick to take our drink order but not as quick to get it to us. There are less than a handful of options for vegetarians. Not many. Their homemade tortillas are really good though. I had the tortillas with a little bit of the cheese. We are a party of two. Husband said that the mollejas and the chicharrón en salsa were good. The margarita too. Cute place. Will probably not be back strictly on the few options for vegetarians. I would recommend it to others though. Friendly, courteous staff. Edit: My original Star review was four. I'm taking one Star from them after reviewing my bill at home. We did not get 10 tortillas de harina. We got the corn tortillas that came with the food that we ordered and five (not 10) flour tortillas additionally. Five dollars isn't much, the point is that they DID overcharge us and I didn't realize it, unfortunately, until two days later.
