I have been there a couple of times and both times the cashier tried to over charge me. The first time I didn't make an issue because it was a few dollars but the second time he tried it again and I called his error. I will never go back again. Mi Tierra is a much better Mexican restaurant read more

Vicky's Restaurant - Mexican Tacos that don't taste good. I over paid for them - Mexican Near Me - San Benito, Texas

I would pass on this place. Breakfast was sub par. Migas were dry and eggs smelled burned.

Ordered caldo de pollo. Flour tortillas large and deliciously TOASTY!! Caldo contained 1 small drumstick, 1 MINI thigh and another little bony piece with a bite of meat on it. The broth was a tiny bit warmer than room temperature - and a bit diluted. Veggies - half a small potato, 2-3 carrot slices and a few pieces of green squash, 2 slivers of onion. Not the excellent steamy, tasty caldo de pollo Vicki's used to serve. read more

Always a clean atmosphere, good service, good food, huge menu selection. Been going here for years, never disappointed.

Really?? You're now charging for substituting charro beans for refried beans?? I'm not going back.

Always the place I stop when I go home. Taco Loco Al La Mexicana. Or Bacon, egg, beans & cheese.

Service was okay not the best. Need to clarify what's on what food, got a burrito that said nothing about having gravy on it. What if I had been allergic? I'd still have to pay for that? They made sure to charge for everything down to the chips and salsa. Meat was not seasoned it tasted like straight meat. The ambiance was very empty. read more

This is one of the best restaurants in San Benito for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All meals are well proportioned And priced reasonably. They have good Mexican food and seafood. Can't go wrong with Vicky's. read more

The hubby and I wanted to try Vicky's lunch because we had a couple of great breakfasts here. The restaurant is big and the decor is festive. I got the chicken tacos. I don't remember what the hubby got cause I was busy digging in the chips and salsa. read more

I went back to the restaurant same shit again bad customer service, they never offered customer refill or check if everything was OK only until I ask if they can sell me another cup of coffee, I guess they have to know customers individually?? read more

not good at all. why are chips and salsa extra $3?! carne guisada tasted like dog food, no flavor. we ordered 2 burritos that did not mention having gravy on them so when we asked for the menu to order something else they said we'd still be charged for them. cool we paid $30 for food we didn't even eat, whatever. $15 for a quesadilla. trash. we come from Houston wanting authentic Mexican food and this was not it. Jose Luis didn't even bother making paying customers happy he made sure to charge for every damn thing we got, probably even for the to boxes of food we're throwing away. never again. making sure everyone knows not to come here. do better. read more

I came to eat here with family and I really enjoyed the food here! We came for breakfast and ordered different items off the menu. I ordered the huevos rancheros with salsa on the side and flour tortilla. It tasted great and the coffee was amazing as well! It has huge portions compared to San Antonio Mexican food, it doesn't compare. Our waitress was very attentive. I would recommend trying this place when in San Benito. read more

I can see why this place has so low ratings, I had the worst experience ever. Thank you Vicky's, hope you improve 1 star for you today. Treat your customers like it was the very first day of business. You will be surprised how many people just return for that slice of gratitude. Ratings work people!!!!! read more

I was in town for business. My client selected this place for lunch. Everything was delicious! I ordered chicken enchiladas. The lunch menu is very inexpensive with lots of great options. The service was a bit slow but it was the lunchtime rush. read more

This is our first time in Vicky's and was an excellent meal. Very authentic Mexican food and probably the biggest chili relleno I ever eaten. Very fresh veggies, spicy salsa and nothing was 'microwaved' . We went at lunchtime and the place was packed. Friendly waitress and good, quick service. Will definitely be back here highly recommend. read more

Great variety of delicious food. Nice waitress & very attentive. Well spaced tables during Covid-19 epidemic. Atmosphere is very open, more like a cafeteria to me. Offered curbside service there, too. Looked as if it ran very efficiently. Chips & salsa were so good. My Mexican food was amazing. Husband had an Angus burger and loved every bite. Hand patty with great seasonings. read more

After trying their delicious breakfast we were really looking foward to trying their dinners. Yuck. What a disappointment. Cold, stale chips and a very forgettable meal. The BF liked the carne guisada but I could hardly stomach my food. I didn't even take home the leftovers. Maybe we'd return for breakfast, but probably not. I'd give it a 4 for breakfast and 2 for dinner so a 3 overall. read more

Was looking for somewhere different to have lunch in San Benito. Yelp found Vicky's and the reviews were good so we decided to give it a whirl. Nice and clean, not too loud, although only about 25 people in the place. I ordered the Enchilada Suizas and my wife had the Mexican plate. The tomatillo sauce was nice & tangy and the chichen was nicely seasoned. My wife like her cheese enchilada as well. Our rice was on point! The refried beans were good as well. Overall, for us, we thought the whole meal was lacking in seasoning, except for the rice, just little salt woke up the flavors. I ordered a Corona Michelada to drink and it was one of the best I've had, simple, but very tasty! It was a cold day and lots of folks were eating Caldo, several different ones were available and they all looked good. I'm sure that this was NOT or last visit to Vicky's! read more

This was a carry out, because of Covid and all, so to rate higher I feel would be foolish as I don't know how the service is inside. We ordered the parillada platter two of them and it was just enough for five people it should have been enough for eight... the food was good though. The young lady who took our order to us was not very friendly, but I figured it was because of Covid. Who knows. I'm willing to try again, but honestly nobody wants to be treated as insignificant when spending their hard worked for money. read more

Whether it's slow or busy, expect to wait an hour for your food. Bring a bag of M&M's to hold you over. Management should look into hiring more cooks, servers, or change work flow to optimize throughput. read more

We used to order Botanas from here all the time. Quality and portions have gone down BIG time. We ordered a botana for 4 and it barely fed 3 ppl. Meat was skimpy, no salsa was given and meat was tough. Will definitely not be ordering again. Almost $50 and it was looking really weak. Don't spend your $ on these "botanas" read more

I was at work decided to place an online order for the first time at this restaurant, 5 minutes later I got a notification through GRUB HUB that the restaurant cancelled my order. I called and they had my order wrong, then the lady came back on the phone and said the order was ready, I asked them why did it say it was cancelled, she put me on hold then came back saying "we're only accepting cash, our internet is not working, we cannot charge cards" then WHY don't they call the customers who placed online orders if there's a problem and take it upon themselves to make it a cash transaction? I decided to give this restaurant a try but because of this lack of service to the customer I will never consider them again. Thanks for nothing. read more

Vicky's Restaurant - Tasty chorizo and potato taco. Fork for scale :-) - Mexican Near Me - San Benito, Texas

There's a lot of good Mexican food in the San Benito area, but Vicky's isn't at the top of that list. The menu is quite American, and it seems they are trying to do too much. I think Vicky's could really benefit by cutting their menu in half, and focusing on a few dishes they prepare really well. I ordered the Tacos Monterrey with a side of rice and beans. The tacos were good, but they weren't any better than most Mexican restaurants in the area. My uncle ordered the Fideo, and seemed to be impressed by it. Maybe I will order that next time. Overall, Vicky's is a decent family restaurant. I would just like to see them sharpen things up a bit. read more

My mom loves Vickys! Everytime I vist her in my hometown she picks this place to go eat. We had breakfast and ordered Tacos which are huge! Bought a Botana for two last night, and later that night it made me and my fiance sick. Worst experience ever.

Food was great, we had family come from out of town, we were 16 in total. Waitress Maria seemed annoyed when she had to wait on us, she just made a face. Service was rude. We will not go back with a big group. read more

Love this place. My husband and I have gone twice. Our first experience was a little better than the second but both were overall good. We ordered a salad, special #1 and also a quesadilla. The quesadilla was amazing, it's my new favorite although all the food was enjoyable and delicious. The only thing was that on our second visit, there were two larger parties there in the restaurant as well and I think it took away from the other guests. We didn't seem to have a specific waiter, but rather many different people approaching our table throughout the meal. This isn't a huge deal but as far as I understand, you get chips and salsa to start. We were brought salsa but no chips. Little strange. Overall though, love this place and definitely will be back! read more

The food here is pretty good. The only downside is their costumer service. It is hit or miss depending on who you get as a waiter.

For this north easterner (NJ) it was a authentic, filling, tasty and cheap breakfast (cost based on NY/NJ standard). The salsa had a great spice. Tortilla was hot and fresh.
