Refried chips that smells and taste just like bad oil.

The worst French fries I have ever seen in my life, you can't even give this to an animal. How do you not get fries right??? And how do you think serving a paid customer this atrocity is ok???? I wish I opened this box of abomination before I got home. Looked like they had refried this rubbish over and over again and then served it. This is soooo wrong, I am utterly disgusted by this place and would never visit. I should have seen all the red flags, the kitchen was visible and it was obviously dirty, one of the workers wore a shirt filled with grime, you could tell that shirt hadn't been washed in weeks. This place needs to be inspected for food handling, health and safety !!!!!!

This location has been around calgary for a long time! Quick service and fresh! I find kfc greasy, so I prefer my fried chicken here. Support local!

Fried chicken that's delicious, it's in a small hole in the wall kinda good but they have the goods. If you want a sinfully delicious treat check it out.

Terrible. Chicken drumsticks are a measly 3" long. Those aren't chicken drumsticks...maybe from a Cornish Hen but not a chicken. What a joke. Won't return and encourage all to avoid this location. There are better options available for fried chicken where you get what you pay for.

Chicken On The Way's colour-changing chicken!

My friend totally got me hooked on Chicken On The Way. I'm not actually a huge fan of their chicken; I think the flavour is just okay, but nothing special. Other people must really like it though, because there is a huge lineup every time I come here. What keeps me stopping by here every time I visit Calgary is their corn fritters. These are so delicious. They are deep fried and have just a hint of sweetness. They taste great by themselves, but even better dipped in their delicious gravy. They are really cheap too. I think last time we got nine of them, and I know it cost under five bucks. This is not healthy at all, but as a treat, it's more than satisfying. Last time I was here, I noticed a giant chicken statue outside. I think it's rather new, because I am not sure how I could have missed that before. Anyways, the next day it snowed, and when we drove by, the chicken was bright pink!! It changes colour with temperature. How cool is that?

I was in the Kensington neighbourhood and came by based on the several raving reviews. I ordered the snack pack which comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken, a side (I chose fries) and a corn critter. This could by far be the worst fried chicken I've ever tasted. Even the fries and corn fritter were bad. Everything was greasy and soggy with strong reused oil taste. Not sure if it's a one off but I'm sure I won't be coming back.

Greasy but quite delicious. You do get a fair amount of chicken for $ paid. Great parking and location on the commute home.

Still absolutely a five-star burger- one of the best I've had anywhere. Patties are crispy smashed…read moreperfection- my go-to here is a triple (a patty is 3 oz so that's about a half pound of beef) with the spicy house sauce, onions and pickles. I love how much you can personalize your burger. Prices have unfortunately gone up; a double burger that was a bargain (for Calgary) of $10 a year ago is now (22 May 2024) $11.50. Still worth it! One thing confuses me: They have a challenge, it's to consume an 8-patty cheeseburger and there are photos of people who've completed the challenge. 8 patties is 24 oz of meat and for a competitive eater, that's not a huge challenge at all. So I asked, and it has to be completed in five minutes- something I could never do, so kudos to the five or so champs pictured on the wall. The only thing is that that burger currently costs $35, and if you "win" you get "bragging rights" and a "gift." That "gift" isn't the burger being free. Why would anybody undertake this painful challenge if they're not getting the burger for free IF they complete the challenge? I'll ask the management next time I'm there- this could be a huge win for the restaurant and could attract some major competitive eaters, but as it's done now, most people wouldn't want to try.

I've been a regular at this place for a long time. They know me by name, I bring friends and my…read moregirlfriend, and I've spent thousands here over time. Overall, I've always liked the place -- but there's one employee who consistently ruins the experience. The bigger guy working there -- you know exactly who I'm talking about -- has a terrible attitude every single time. No reason for it. This was the last straw. I came in around 9pm with my girlfriend. The place was nearly empty -- maybe three couples total. He immediately told me, "Sorry man, can't help you, we're way too busy. It's going to be an hour and a half." That made zero sense. I pointed out that the place was basically empty, and he doubled down saying they had too many online orders. That just felt like a lazy excuse to not deal with us. When his coworker looked like he was definitely about to take my order. It's frustrating because the rest of the staff has always been great, but this one person consistently treats customers poorly and doesn't seem interested in doing his job. At this point, I'm done. I won't be coming back or spending another dollar here unless something changes. A good business shouldn't let one employee drag down the entire experience like this. Since the old manager left, the place has clearly gone downhill. The only people consistently doing a great job are the ladies in the kitchen -- they're always friendly and actually make a solid burger. That said, the larger male staff member I mentioned should not be representing this business.

What a great find!…read more We enjoyed the beet salad 10/10, beet chips 7/10, the ranch burger 8/10 , the spicy mushroom mozza burger 10/10, and the Mr. chicken panino 10/10! There is an abundant selection of beverages too. Everything was delicious and I would order them again! The service was prompt, kind and the manager made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.

What a lovely sweet find along 10 Ave! Was in the area for medical travel and found this burger…read morespot across from MEC. The ranch burger and milkshake would of been more than enough for me (as that was a very hefty burger!) but also tried their smash browns (big potato chunks crisped up and super delicious enough to take home the remainder). I really liked the layout and lighting in the restaurant but as an added bonus, there is also a patio out back (I think you still need to go inside to order at the counter though) and free 3 hr parking for those eating there. I didn't realize about the parking until after I was done my appointment (that would of saved me from struggling with paying for parking on an old iphone that doesn't like indigo QR links...). So now I know for next trip to Calgary this is the spot to stop. Also, just an extra nod to the the two working (I believe they both were owners). Super friendly, will chat or leave you to enjoy your meal and really went the extra step with bringing out the good hot sauce and ketchup even before the meal was ready.

Dim Sum After Landing -- A Very Sad Story…read more We came straight from the airport to this Chinese restaurant because the Google reviews looked amazing. My boyfriend picked it, and honestly, walking in, the place looked clean enough. Service was fine too. So far, hope was alive. Then the food arrived. The BBQ Pork Rice Crepe was very average. The BBQ pork was loose and messy, the sauce leaned too sweet, and the rice noodle wrapper was so soft it basically gave up the moment my chopsticks touched it. The green vegetable on the side had no flavor at all. 2/5 The Steamed BBQ Pork Buns were a true disappointment. There was barely any BBQ pork inside, and the bun itself looked fluffy but somehow became super sticky in the mouth. Even my boyfriend, who is usually the least picky human alive, took two bites and pushed the bun skin aside. His review: "This is really bad." 1/5 The Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings tasted exactly like frozen supermarket dumplings. The $2.99 bag kind. And somehow they were not even crispy. Tragic. 1/5 The Har Gow and Steamed Spareribs were also forgettable. No personality, no flavor, no joy. But the most depressing dish was the Chicken Clay Pot Rice. I saw vegetables. I saw mushrooms. I saw chicken. I saw three sad slices of Chinese sausage. What I did not see was flavor. Not even salt showed up to work today. It honestly made me wonder: did the head chef call in sick? Or was the chef just having a very bad day and decided to cook food that matched the mood? Overall: 1/5 A deeply disappointing meal. By the end, I was seriously questioning whether the Google reviews were written by real customers or hired by the restaurant's emotional support team. Absolutely terrible.
