AMBIENCE Restaurant is situated where Jamba Juice used to be…read moreand it also has a second floor. When we entered, the entire first floor was packed and lines were long for ordering and claiming. The crowd eventually lessened as several minutes went by but there were still a lot of customers. FOOD We tried the 3PC Chicken Tenders and the 1PC Chicken and both had different textures especially on the coating. Tenders were typically good but the Bold BBQ dip was the star flavor in this combo; tasted really good! 1PC had tender white meat and a really thick coating, which tasted good but made the chicken actually look smaller. Biscuit was just as good as before and still somewhat plain, which I totally appreciate. At first, I thought the flavor was infused into the biscuit but turns out you put it in like you would with butter. Our flavor was honey but the experience of placing it in the biscuit was more interesting than the actual flavor. Spaghetti had a sweet and subtly unique taste. Fries had a nice and crispy texture. Among our orders, I still think only about those good and plain biscuits. SERVICE We had to wait quite awhile because there were lots of customers, and one number was called several times sometime before ours. The customer of that number never came and I was able to eventually get our order. I'd like to suggest that they use a TV screen (unless they have one upstairs already) or a pager to call out the number especially for customers upstairs.

A few weeks ago, I discovered that a branch has finally opened in Makati. At the streetside section of Glorietta 2, directly facing Landmark, it's hard to miss the place. What with a conspicuously designed name printed on its glass window and right above the entrance. Finding a seat is also not a problem as the dining area is huge and there are plenty of tables and chairs. I liked Wingstop even before I tasted their food. The reason: Their food choices are few. You'll not be overwhelmed by different options or types of food. Their menu revolves around chicken wings. Since their Makati branch is fairly new, I imagined that customers would take a long time to decide what to order. But it didn't take long for the people ahead of me to finish their transactions at the counter. It could be that everyone had already tried Wingstop and knew what to eat or it could be that 7:00pm is not a good time to eat wings (are you kidding me?). Since I was on my way home, I decided to have my orders in a takeaway bag. I simply wanted to sample their wings so I got a 7-piece order of wings with two flavors - Garlic Parmesan and Louisiana Rub. Both taste great but I liked the Louisiana Rub better because of its sweet and mild spicy flavor.

We spoke to James, co-owner and founder of King of Wings. Soon, they'll open new restaurants in several places. This place is noted for unlimited chicken wings, refer to their menu. We ordered their party platter with four different flavors for chicken wings. Good for 4 people. The flavors we chose are garlic parmesan, caramelized patis (fish sauce), honey bbq and teriyaki. I liked the garlic parmesan chicken wings. The fried wings were marinated, moist, soft and crunchy (garlic parmesan). It's deliciously prepared for each customer. Lots of young millennials love to come and eat lunch here at King of Wings. This place is busy during lunch hour. Affordable price and serving is average. Clean and neutral gender bathroom.

I consider Buffalo wings to be one of my favorite foods, so when someone declares this place to be one of the best wings in town, I had to find out for myself. Frankie's set-up is like the typical wings diner: homey and pleasantly cluttered. I had the garlic parmesan as recommended by the waiter, and the Frankie's Classic Buffalo. As it was the one flavor that took the restaurant's name as its title, the Frankie's classic was definitely the better order of the two. Everything I've been hearing about the place was right; this might be the best Buffalo wings place in the city! The Frankie's classic is a masterpiece, I don't know how many kinds of Buffalo wings I've tried in my life, but this time I think I've found the perfect original no frills wings.

Going further, some places would inevitably prepare the dish better than most. To me, this is Frankie's New York Buffalo Wings. I usually head to Frankie's after a night run. This could get as late as midnight. The place is open until 2 am, and by this time the horrible parking situation at the City Golf Compound would already be more manageable. (Of course, provided it's a not a weekend.) I always get the Classic Buffalo (spicy) with blue cheese dip, and ask for more blue cheese dips. (They charge extra). I like the chicken because of the way the skin has been cooked to a crisp, all the while keeping the meat rather tender; I think it's breaded. The sauce is spicy yet with just the right bite, meaning there is a dimension to the flavor and not just plain crazy-fiery. Like, I can still taste the butter and the vinegar all coming nicely together with the one-two punch of the hot sauce. Oh-yeah! The best part is you don't even have to worry about getting your hands dirty because they give away disposable gloves. To be honest, I don't really use it since I am used to working with utensils in dissecting my chicken, but I just think it's rather thoughtful of them. As my personal motto goes: it's the useless stuff that builds character.

As their name suggests, they have all sorts of chicken and pork dishes, all at affordable rates. The location is just about right because it is very near the entry/exit of Bicutan, which means nearly all the residents of Better Living Subdivision will be seeing this place going to and from their places of work. There's ample parking, which is a big plus since many restaurants along the main thoroughfare of Dona Soledad Avenue offer little parking space for patrons. Chicken N' Chops was in its final stages of construction when I happened to pass by. I chatted with one of the guys standing outside and he told me that they already had a few drive by customers even if they hadn't even had their soft opening yet. Regarding their signature chicken dishes, he assured me "masarap po!" and guaranteed that they were as good, if not better, than the well known chicken restaurants. I could smell the chicken frying and I have to admit it whetted my appetite so much that I wanted to order. But the gent apologized and said that they were only cooking an advance order. They would be taking orders one or two days after, he told me. I glanced at their menu and found their prices to be fair. Just about right for a restaurant that is targeting the middle class market that is Better Living. One can eat inside or order take out at Chicken N' Chops. At the time of my visit, they were still doing finishing carpentry work. Since chicken and pork are among the staples in the tables of most Filipino families, this new restaurant has a fighting chance of succeeding.
