The speaker at the drive through was broken and you could not understand the order taker. Service was slow, grease was old and the food was overcooked ! When We finally received our order after 20 minutes nobody really seemed to care! read more

Always good food that comes out but constantly forgetting food as well. Last time I went I ordered a large mashed potatoes to go with my family pack never received it and every time I opt out out of a drink and get two sides they never give me the second side and I shouldn't have to drive back just to get the food that I ordered in the first place read more

Went to try order food and the guy trying to take my order was incredibly rude. He was so rude that I drove off and didn't even order food. He failed to explain when I didn't want a drink it came with two sides. But I had told him I only wanted one side and at that point he decided to get angry with me. Will never return to this location again and you shouldn't either. read more

The last 3 times we've come in to eat and ask if the chicken was fresh, they always say it is. But it has NOT been fresh, it's barely warm and hard like it's left over from lunch run! 3rd strike for me. I'll find a new place than can serve fresh hot chicken. read more

We stopped and picked up lunch today at the 82nd street location near Lubbock. It was right after church, probably about 11:00 am. When we got home which is about 1 mile, we could not even eat the fries. I'm sure they were rewarded or refried from yesterday! Inedible!!!! read more

You have GOT to be kidding me with the reduced dining room hours. Closing the dining room ANY day at 5 pm is ridiculous, but especially on Fridays and weekends. So you force us to wait in the slowest drive thru line in all of Lubbock Texas to be greeted with terrible customer service (which is probably from all the people yelling at you for not opening your dining room) and an order that is only 7 times out of 10 made correctly because your staff is trying to rush through to complete orders. "Not enough staff" isn't a good excuse. Hire more people. They're out there. Pull your head out of your butt and hire them. Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

This Chicken Express is one of my favorite places to get fried chicken. It just tastes better than their competitors chicken. The fried pickles are fantastic too! The french fries are a perfectly golden sticks of deliciousness. The staff are friendly and efficient, the dining area and restrooms are clean. Chicken Express at lunch time is a welcome respite during a hectic workday. And they offer a small discount if you pay cash. If you need some wonderful fried food, Chicken Express is the place. read more

I have never had a horrible experience. Not sure why there are so many terrible reviews. This place is a go to when u need something fast and fresh! We even use them for catering and it's ALWAYS a hit. Great job Chicken Express!! read more

Don't waste your time at the 6720 82nd st location. They refuse to open the lobby even though every food location has opened since COVID started. They've figured that they can make their customers wait in long lines and can lower their payroll costs. You'll wait in line for at least 30 - 45 min with the line in the street causing possible accidents. There's no online order option. No curbside service. My advice....just pick another restaurant that actually cares about their customers. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Service is beyond slow. Left after waiting in line for 15 minutes. Food sitting under heat lamps while workers do anything besides serve customers. Horrible. Will never return to this location. read more

Was in town and looking for something easy that I can't get in Memphis. This place was perfect, food hot, quick and friendly service! Don't let the old reviews stop you from visiting this location! read more

Garbage, old chewy weird chicken. Expect to wait in line for 30 min plus and spend around $15-20 a person, just to have to pick around chicken strips to find a few decent, edible parts. The workers are always rude too, make you feel like you're an inconvenience just for asking for seasoning packets or a straw. And getting through your order is a whole other story, you got the "what else?" Interruption after every item you order before you can even finish talking. If it were the crappy attitudes and the wait time alone, I could get over it... but the fact that they charge $17 for a combo just for it to be TERRIBLE food quality is ridiculous... those prices, you should be making sure the chicken is on point... I just don't understand why the line is always so long, the sweet tea is good? read more

My husband and I went in this facility to have some lunch as we walked in the dinning room and all the tables were dirty and floor was looking like it hasn't been swept in days ,and as we were eating are lunch one of the employwe finally came out to clean the dining room but instead of wiping the tables off first she got the broom and sweep the the chairs and table with the broom . I called the ass mgr to our table and all she said I will talk to her and did not do nothing to stop the situation. I will not visit this location anymore. I have gone to other locations and they are clean . They need a stronger management at this location. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered the fish snack pack, one piece of under-cooked fish, 2 small things barely resembling hush puppies over cooked. Fried okra was decent but we had to pay extra to get the ranch dip... the server stated everyone every where charges. At their high prices, sauce should be included. We paid 27.00 for one meal and a snack pack.... Disappointed with the overall service and food. read more

Lobby is STILL closed. Wait time in drive thru is horrible and very long. Cars backed up in 82nd ST waiting. Every other food business has reopened the lobbies, Chicken E needs to do the same. If staff isn't wearing mask or gloves ( they aren't). It's time to reopen read more

Time for the dining room to be open. Texas is open. Open your doors and let customer dine in.

We have been eating at this location for years, and recently it has been impossible to ignore the decline in customer service. The food quality is also going down in my opinion, but what used to be the most polite employees in town (aside from Chick Fil A) is now a bunch of rude and unprofessional high school kids who are more interested in goofing around than actually serving their patrons. If you're looking for fried chicken, I'd go elsewhere and save yourself the headache. read more

Really frustrated with this location. Been three times. The first time was fine, the second and third were frustrating. Wanted spicy tenders but keep getting regular ones. Not the end of the world but the spicy tenders are the only reason I go to this place. read more

I stopped by this location tonight and the owner would not be proud of this place. The staff eating from the food prep area and young kids coming in and out of the kitchen and they were not even working. Free food and drinks at this location for their friends. I am sure the owner would not be proud to find out what is taking place at this location. read more

Ordered $70.00 of chicken & fish family meals- got home and NO SIDES!!! Tried to call them but - phone number on receipt is disconnected. Drove all the way back there (This is Sun. 2/26/2023 during the AWFUL DUST STORM) long line in drive thru, dining room closed- banged on door till someone finally came - said they would get the sides (did not say they were sorry they screwed up my order) - gave me bags, got home and NO FRIES!!! still screwed up. Tried to call Monday and no one answers at any location in Lubbock!! There is no way to contact anyone on their corp.website. The fish was dried out and awful it was a wasted $70.00 PLUS Gas to go there twice. Just skip it and go to Chick-Fil-A read more

Food is good but the service is always horrible... always takes 20-30 mins for our food even when there is no one else in line. We would be told to pull up and wait and then the cars pile up and they forget about us. This last time after waiting 20 mins for our food, a worker told that they were just now putting the livers in the fryer and it was going to take another 12 mins. This is ridiculous. We asked for the manager. The manager comes out and said that there was a big order of gizzards before us and that they had to cook more tenders and other stuff but our livers just came out of the fryer. They are telling us two different things. This is wild. Also when we pulled up to the drive thru we literally saw piles of chicken tenders through the window. So I don't understand why the service is ALWAYS SO HORRIBLE. The manager literally told us he can't drop the livers early because it will get hard and dried out. But sir we waited 20 mins already?! What do you mean... it just doesn't make sense and that manager just seemed incompetent. read more

I'm not crazy paying 10.00 for a meal but that's the new normal. However- if it's good quality I don't have a problem with it. Quality was really good. Much better than Raising Canes. Really good. read more

There is not a piece of chicken or fish in existence worth waiting in this ridiculous line! Covid has been here for a year and half and this place doesn't care about their customers to set up online ordering for curbside service like every other place in town and won't open the dining room. Then to add insult to injury when I finally got my order after 30-40 minutes in line I looked at my receipt and they charge a surcharge for using a card! People this is the 21st century! Everyone uses cards! Never ever again will I support this business. read more

They do NOT care about their customers. orders are wrong and they'll simply tell you to drive back as if you want to leave home after waiting in line for 30 min. The children are hungry and you expect us to pack up this order that YOU messed up and drive back to the store read more

This place charges an extra fee for using a card to pay. It's 2022! build the fees into the menu prices. won't be back until they stop this practice. read more

Great experience tonight at Chicken E. They always seem ready to work with me on orders for the family. Christian music playing makes me happy. They evidently have great sweet tea according to my wife. It's a fast food chicken place so I don't expect a lot of frills, but they get the job done. read more

Drive in speaker needs foxed. They forgot my fries with my order. Second time in a row! read more

Worst service ever. I went in the drive through ordered two gallons of sweet tea and a regular size mini popper. Pulled up to the window and it took them 10 min to just open the window to take my card. When I finally got my order my food was cold. 15 minutes total in the drive through for two years an a small food order jut for it to be cold. They had employees inside eating and walking in it out there was only two cars in front of me when I got there and by the time I left they had 8 behind me. No wonder there drive through looks so busy because they have slow shitty service. read more

Went Thursday evening. Drive thru was busy. I checked the clock and it was 7:15 when I joined the line. I pulled away with my food at 8pm. I had ordered 3 meals. 2 of them were correct (the okra was a little over cooked, but wasn't bad). The 3rd order was supposed to be a 2 piece dinner with 2 thighs, Mac and cheese and corn nuggets and a roll. I got gizzards and okra and a roll. I cannot eat gizzards but my husband can so he gave me his dinner and ate the gizzards. I tried to call the store 3 times and it rang in excess of 20 rings each time then just cuts off with no answer. read more

This is one of the best chicken places in Lubbock, TX. The staff has always been really helpful and I've never had to wait very long for any kind of food. The sweet tea is always amazing, and if you want to cure that sweet tooth, they have some wonderful cookies and apple pies. They always have Christian music playing that sets up a good atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for a casual dinner with the family, or even just some takeout. read more

Chicken Express - The cheese sticks are the best! - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

I was very disappointed when I asked to substitute something for the rolls or biscuits because my daughter is allergic to gluten and was told there was nothing they could do. I also waited for 15 minutes AFTER I paid to get my food in the drive thru. When I asked for the number of the district manager or owner they directed me to the website which has zero contact information. read more

We have always liked Chicken Express . Chose to go for chicken livers and dark meat pieces and some sides. When I arrived at the drive through the lines were long, but moved quickly. Was met by a friendly server. Was so happy with my choice! read more

Food is good, but every single time I go here they forget all my sauces even when I pay for them. Just today I went through the drive-thru and ordered $1.50 worth of sauces and they forgot every single one. How does this get miscommunicated every time?? read more

Literally one of the worst drive thru experiences I have ever had in my life! Super rude people! Horrible hygiene! Employees digging in their heads, eyes, ears wiping sweat with their hands and clothes and then not washing their hands and touching food! Cashier had black dirt all under their nails! Longest wait, definitely not an express! They had like 8 to 10 people working the back and they were running around like they had their heads cut off in such disarray! I was so excited to try this place but it was pure craziness! read more

45 mins!!I sat in the drive thru that long with 5 cars in front of me. Finally get my food and it was cold!

Overall all their food is good from their chicken strips, fried chicken and fish and all their sides. Although they could do better on their tartar sauce. Some commercial brand with a bad after taste, that's the reason i don't eat their fish more often. read more

The food was not the issue. I gave them one star because about ten or so employees were mingling out near the cashier and there was yelling and the place was so loud I could not enjoy the food. An older man, grey headed, was there the entire time and actually was yelling out names as well, telling them to clean tables and other orders. I will. It be back read more
