I started going inside instead of going to the drive in window. That worked for awhile. Today I went in to place my order and they had no coleslaw, no fries, no fried pickles and had the nerve to charge me an extra 50 cents for Mac n cheese. I'm done with them. This is so unprofessional and speaks volumes about the care to service their customers. I've been to other locations and I have never gotten the terrible service as the store here.

I ordered the chicken wings and when it gets to the type of sauce it says to order 2; yet after selecting the second one the screen progresses forward with ONLY the second choice really offered. So cannot do half with each of two. Then when it gets to the pay screen there was no way to say your paying cash; it was only gift card or credit. So why bother with the damn screen and just order with the restaurant staff. He was very nice though and corrected the order, allowed me to pay cash and while I sat for the order gave me a free bottle of water. By the way the wings with the garlic/parmesan were very tasty.

***Chicken Nuggets (level: mild) --- but nuggets are…read moreextremely well done and very tasty. The batter is very thin and Airy while holding lots of seasoning. It doesn't feel overly greasy at all either. ***Cilantro sauce --- this is a very noteworthy sauce here. The sauce is rich and cream by but not overbearing while the cilantro flavor is very pronounced and refreshes the palate. ***Fries - EXTREMELY crispy!!! This is honestly one of the best rides I've ever had. It's well seasoned and not overly salted at all. The crunch on every bite is amazing! It could not get any better. ***Sandwich (level: honey butter) --- honey butter was a bit lackluster in flavor and texture. Of note, the Whataburger honey butter sauce is much better. The staff here are extremely friendly. Elizabeth was very cheerful and helpful. This added to our pleasant experience and energy. Parking may be a bit tricky depending on what time of the day you go. May have to park further away and walk to the restaurant.

They let you order your meal mixing fried and roasted pieces so I did. I also have tried the campero beans and cole slaw as side dishes. Prices are very reasonable. A 3 piece chicken meal with one side dish with self serve drink and tax runs about $13. Two piece meals are less of course. The chicken here tastes very good. As long as it is hot, the roasted version is seasoned and very juicy. The fried version had a nice seasoned crust and was also juicy inside. I think I liked the fried a little better but would be ok with either. Their sides are even better. My order of campero beans were hot and very flavorful. The cole slaw was cool and creamy with a rich taste. Those two were quality side dishes. This is the only outpost of Pollo Campero that I have visited. It remains to be seen if the other locations are consistent with this one. I have found that Golden Chick disappoints more than it succeeds. As of now, Pollo Campero is my fave of this type of restaurant.
