I've been coming to this chicken spot for quite some time now. The chicken is fried well and the food is deliciously on point. The portions at times can be off but what you lack in size you get in taste. The dinner rolls are hilariously small in comparison to your chicken . The fries are large but can at times be extremely hard to the point of hurting the roof of your mouth. The desserts ( I recommend the banana pudding) are fairly priced and very delicious. The indoor area is small and can fit 3-4 adults standing , you're better off outside in the searing area but the seats are unstable so be careful . Overall for price and taste I say it's affordable and able to feed at least 1-2 people if you're ordering the delight dinner. After moving to the US from Istanbul in 2015 and trying the KFC here, I was left unsatisfied with my experience. I love dry wings, and although there are a lot of delicious wings here in the US I never got that same feeling that I did from the KFC in Turkey. Any time I ate wings here, the delicious flavor was just a different kind of delicious. When I moved to Jersey City over a year ago, Chicken Delight was the first place I tried, on my second day here. I had the Wing Special, which is three wings and a roll. The roll is just your basic roll, but the wings are full wings, including the wing tip. I'm not used to this, coming from the half-wings of KFC, although I've had it at Popeyes in the US. Now, at Popeyes I never want to even touch the wing tips, but when I ate these wings I liked them so much I wanted to keep eating! I ate the crispy bits and even between the bones, it was really that good. I've been eating from there regularly ever since. It's nice for me since I'm only a few minutes walking distance from the restaurant and I can just call 15 minutes ahead of time. They don't have chicken just sitting there waiting, probably due to the high volume of customers, but if you do it like I do you can get your chicken fresh, hot and crispy! Now, although the Wing Special is great, I do enjoy dipping wings in gravy and other sauces, so I did want to have the classic, smaller version of the wings as well. Plus, I don't really care about the rolls so I was looking for other options. Since I thought that this is how big they make wings, I never bothered buying the 10 Hot buffalo wings option. When I was visited by a friend of mine, we ended up purchasing this and to my surprise, the wings were half sized! We ended up going back and getting another order of 15 wings! This has been my go-to ever since. The wings are on the small side, but delicious to the bone. Really well seasoned, not too oily, savory goodness. I don't personally want the hot sauce, so I ask for no sauce and they are still kind enough to give me some on the side every time. They haven't messed up once! I have also tried their gravy, and while it is actually delicious, it is also kept in a plastic container in the heat so it always has a plastic tinge to it, I'm sad to say I don't recommend it. The first time I bought it, I couldn't stop eating even though I felt like I was eating plastic, that's how good I think the gravy is otherwise! If only they could switch to paper containers, I would love to order this as well. Other sides like the coleslaw and the macaroni salad can be nice if you're with multiple people but they're too sweet for my taste. Another item that they actually added after I started going there is the Chicken Sandwich. It's on a regular sized bun and the chicken inside is thin, crispy and wider than the bun itself. It has a nice sauce and two or three pickles. Usually one is enough but on a hungry day I can go for two of these! Also, my partner and I LOVE their banana pudding. There is a place called Baonanas near us that has really good reviews and they make all kinds of banana puddings but... I think theirs is better! Strawberry cheesecake is okay. If you're going to try any dessert, I suggest you go for the pudding. It has real bananas and nilla wafers. DELICIOUS. The food being as good it is, the real thing that keeps me coming back to Chicken Delight is the people. The staff there is always nice to me, from the manager to the usual cook, the very nice lady at the front and even the guy who covers the weekend shifts. I'm so glad I found this place when I first moved in, and when I move again I think I might come back for more! read more

I came here on a Friday night and ordered a 8 piece bucket with fries. It came to about $25 total. The staff was very friendly and courteous with me during the order. I had to wait about 10 minutes which was great, because that means they actually made the chicken fresh. I also noticed a sign "no trans fat used" for their cooking. The chicken came out piping hot. I love the hot sauce they have, because it's not typical hot sauce. It's a just a tad sweet and not as runny as typical hot sauce, but gave a great taste to the chicken. The fries were great as well. Now, let's get to the chicken. This was some of (If not the best) fried chicken I've had. This is coming from someone who has been at Kennedy's fried and other chicken spots all over NY. The chicken wasn't old, it was very juicy and the thighs had a LOT of meat. The chicken wasn't greasy or soaked in oil. The coating was delicious and flavorful. The rolls were AMAZING and not the typical Kennedy rolls. My mother loved the chicken so much, while driving to our next destination, we had to switch seats so that she could eat some more . Recently ordered a 15 piece of Buffalo Wings and Corn Nuggets. If you've had Chicken Delights Buffalo wings in the past, then you'd know they were great! Unfortunately, they've changed their provider of Buffalo Wings. The wings I received were completely different than what I've had for the past 15 years. These wings were beyond gross. Just ordered a chicken & shrimp combo and a 6pc chicken dinner with a Diet Coke. I asked for plastic forks and extra ketchup. When the food order came, I didn't bother to check the order. What a mistake! The chicken and shrimp combo was good but the 6pc dinner was only the chicken with no fries and rolls. One fork for two dinners and only 3 ketchup packages! Fucking really! Check your order before you pay! Never had a problem before but I don't know if I'll ever order again being that they don't take the time to get the order right! I ordered a Chicken Snack, which consists of a breast and a wing, along with a dinner roll and a huge portion of french fries. My husband and I first had chicken at this place a few months ago. A bit greasy, but more or less what anybody would expect. My complaint is with the service. I don't eat Halal or Kosher meat for ethical reasons. My husband doesn't eat it for ethical as well as religious reasons. Whenever we go out to eat, we almost always stick to vegetarian options. In our case, going to Chicken Delight was a BIG mistake. When we first entered the eatery, after some confusion, we asked to speak with the manager who assured us that the meat wasn't Halal. We asked about his supplier and he assured us it was cruelty-free--or as cruelty free as any meat can be. On a hunch, I went into Chicken Delight again today, but without my husband. His religious attire and appearance is a clear give away that he does not eat Halal meat. I look like pretty much any Caucasian, American woman, though. When I went in today, I asked if they serve Halal meat. The woman I talked to told me right away, with confidence, that--yes--of course it's Halal meat. When I got the fish, it was the frozen fish that comes from a box. As in whatever scraps they find, press together and call it fish. This Chicken Delight location is alright. If you want the best Chicken D ever, go to the Cresskill location in Bergen County. At the JC location, our food is usually delivered slightly soggy and never crisp enough. Still tastes good though. Portions are kind of stingy (e.g. small order of fries at Cresskill has 2x more fries than small order of fries here). We always get chicken thighs, french fries, and corn nuggets. Coleslaw & mashed potato are wack - go to KFC for that shit. This is basically fast food chicken like KFC or Popeyes and, when made correctly, infinite times better. read more
