It smells good every time I walk in here. The food is good. Sometimes it's packed so that how you know it good. But when I'm at work this is usually my lunch. Not just chicken but their desserts are good as well!!!!!! read more

I've been coming to this chicken spot for quite some time now. The chicken is fried well and the food is deliciously on point. The portions at times can be off but what you lack in size you get in taste. The dinner rolls are hilariously small in comparison to your chicken . The fries are large but can at times be extremely hard to the point of hurting the roof of your mouth. The desserts ( I recommend the banana pudding) are fairly priced and very delicious. The indoor area is small and can fit 3-4 adults standing , you're better off outside in the searing area but the seats are unstable so be careful . Overall for price and taste I say it's affordable and able to feed at least 1-2 people if you're ordering the delight dinner. If you're in jersey city and want a decent chicken spot that doesn't break the bank. Come here read more

Food was cold very disgusting and disappointing worst food I ever had in my life. Was on hold over 15 minutes just to place my order. Wings barley had sauce on them ribs were burnt with barley any meat. Would like for a manager to reach out and a half if refund if possible. read more

What a mess! The quality and customer service has really went down The price gouging is huge, especially if you're using their website/app or another app like delivery.com it is really a noticeable difference. You are better off going to KFC read more

Called for delivery. Delivery on time. Order correct and still warm. Delicious! Thanks for a great order!!!

What a mess the guys with glasses doesn't know how to take your orders. He chargers you for everything but forgets to everything in the bag. If he handles chicken he should wear gloves when he's touching his balls. read more

I have been coming to this place ever since I was young. They are a staple here in Mcginley square area. I think they beat Popeyes in flavor! I usually just get bucket of chicken with fries. Do not waste your time ordering the buns. I wish they had biscuits and this place would be the perfect package. read more

I've ordered from this place many times. The food is cooked to order so the chicken is always fresh. The food is decent. My favorite is the chicken and fries. I would stay away from the ribs because they are very skinny. The desserts aren't worth the price. read more

Gold standard for fried food. Everything crispy and fresh, lots of sauces included without asking, not skimping on servings, food made fast and to order. Perfect. read more

Grew up in Brooklyn with Chicken Delight. :) Moved to LA, CA in '75...none there. :( Living in Chicago since '85...none here. :( Worked in Jersey City from '15 to '18. When I found you again, I ordered weekly and got co-workers to join in. Having been in the 3 largest cities/areas...I can say this is the best chicken out there. Hopefully they can ship to IL for my birthday this month and other future family events. read more

I decided to give Chicken Delight a try since I had a craving for some chicken wings. We ordered 6 pieces chicken dinner, hot wings, corn nuggets and fries. Overall, everything tasted good! If you like a slide sweetness in your food, you would like them. Chicken, corn nuggets and fries were crispy. Chicken was very tender and juicy. read more

After moving to the US from Istanbul in 2015 and trying the KFC here, I was left unsatisfied with my experience. I love dry wings, and although there are a lot of delicious wings here in the US I never got that same feeling that I did from the KFC in Turkey. Any time I ate wings here, the delicious flavor was just a different kind of delicious. When I moved to Jersey City over a year ago, Chicken Delight was the first place I tried, on my second day here. I had the Wing Special, which is three wings and a roll. The roll is just your basic roll, but the wings are full wings, including the wing tip. I'm not used to this, coming from the half-wings of KFC, although I've had it at Popeyes in the US. Now, at Popeyes I never want to even touch the wing tips, but when I ate these wings I liked them so much I wanted to keep eating! I ate the crispy bits and even between the bones, it was really that good. I've been eating from there regularly ever since. It's nice for me since I'm only a few minutes walking distance from the restaurant and I can just call 15 minutes ahead of time. They don't have chicken just sitting there waiting, probably due to the high volume of customers, but if you do it like I do you can get your chicken fresh, hot and crispy! Now, although the Wing Special is great, I do enjoy dipping wings in gravy and other sauces, so I did want to have the classic, smaller version of the wings as well. Plus, I don't really care about the rolls so I was looking for other options. Since I thought that this is how big they make wings, I never bothered buying the 10 Hot buffalo wings option. When I was visited by a friend of mine, we ended up purchasing this and to my surprise, the wings were half sized! We ended up going back and getting another order of 15 wings! This has been my go-to ever since. The wings are on the small side, but delicious to the bone. Really well seasoned, not too oily, savory goodness. I don't personally want the hot sauce, so I ask for no sauce and they are still kind enough to give me some on the side every time. They haven't messed up once! I have also tried their gravy, and while it is actually delicious, it is also kept in a plastic container in the heat so it always has a plastic tinge to it, I'm sad to say I don't recommend it. The first time I bought it, I couldn't stop eating even though I felt like I was eating plastic, that's how good I think the gravy is otherwise! If only they could switch to paper containers, I would love to order this as well. Other sides like the coleslaw and the macaroni salad can be nice if you're with multiple people but they're too sweet for my taste. Another item that they actually added after I started going there is the Chicken Sandwich. It's on a regular sized bun and the chicken inside is thin, crispy and wider than the bun itself. It has a nice sauce and two or three pickles. Usually one is enough but on a hungry day I can go for two of these! Also, my partner and I LOVE their banana pudding. There is a place called Baonanas near us that has really good reviews and they make all kinds of banana puddings but... I think theirs is better! Strawberry cheesecake is okay. If you're going to try any dessert, I suggest you go for the pudding. It has real bananas and nilla wafers. DELICIOUS. The food being as good it is, the real thing that keeps me coming back to Chicken Delight is the people. The staff there is always nice to me, from the manager to the usual cook, the very nice lady at the front and even the guy who covers the weekend shifts. I'm so glad I found this place when I first moved in, and when I move again I think I might come back for more! read more

Chicken Delight - Chicken Sandwich (4 orders) - Chicken Wings Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

The fried chicken is on point. No wonder they been around since 1965. The chicken was very juicy and sides were ample. I wish they served biscuits though. I would definitely eat their chicken again and prefer it over KFC and say they even give Popeyes a run for their money. I'm a fan now after eating their chicken. If you have not tried it yet go and try it. read more

Good chicken, juicy, good batter. Only had the chicken so can't soeak on anything rlse

A must visit in Jersey City. The chicken was immaculate, perfectly crispy and juicy as ever. The vibes of the joint are great too, but the greatest thing is the staff. They walked me through the menu, and were super helpful as well as incredibly friendly. Without a doubt I am going back. read more

I came here on a Friday night and ordered a 8 piece bucket with fries. It came to about $25 total. The staff was very friendly and courteous with me during the order. I had to wait about 10 minutes which was great, because that means they actually made the chicken fresh. I also noticed a sign "no trans fat used" for their cooking. The chicken came out piping hot. I love the hot sauce they have, because it's not typical hot sauce. It's a just a tad sweet and not as runny as typical hot sauce, but gave a great taste to the chicken. The fries were great as well. Now, let's get to the chicken. This was some of (If not the best) fried chicken I've had. This is coming from someone who has been at Kennedy's fried and other chicken spots all over NY. The chicken wasn't old, it was very juicy and the thighs had a LOT of meat. The chicken wasn't greasy or soaked in oil. The coating was delicious and flavorful. The rolls were AMAZING and not the typical Kennedy rolls. My mother loved the chicken so much, while driving to our next destination, we had to switch seats so that she could eat some more . I didn't get to grab any pictures, as I was too busy chowing down. Check this spot out. read more

Great place! Food is always fresh... delivery is a little slow Thursday through Sunday, you will wait... the fried chicken is my favorite

Guy behind the counter lacked any customer service skills. Had the chicken wings which was dry. The portions were small. Just a rip off.

I'm pained to write a bad review since I have been going here since I was a child in the 1960s. Last week I ordered a dinner and was completely dissatisfied Chicken seemed of a lower quality made in old oil. The fries were dried and half cold. And it looked like someone stepped on the roll. I always appreciated that the same recipe and standards were used but not now. Don't know if I would give it another chance it was so bad. Hope the owner reads these. read more

The food was decent. It could have better flavor, but once I put some of my homemade sauce on it, it was pretty good. The cheesecake and banana pudding were both very tasty. Got the chicken tenders and fries... They were SO good. The tenders were super juicy and soft

If you are looking for fried chicken that tastes good, large size pieces, and delivered hot, then this is the place to go! I tried all the other chicken places, but Chicken Delight in Jersey city!! Just ordered a chicken & shrimp combo and a 6pc chicken dinner with a Diet Coke. I asked for plastic forks and extra ketchup. When the food order came, I didn't bother to check the order. What a mistake! The chicken and shrimp combo was good but the 6pc dinner was only the chicken with no fries and rolls. One fork for two dinners and only 3 ketchup packages! Fucking really! Check your order before you pay! Never had a problem before but I don't know if I'll ever order again being that they don't take the time to get the order right! We ordered just today Jan. 24th 3 Chicken & Shrimp combos, wing deal with mash potato and gravy, and a corn on the cob. We got 6 ketchup packets, no hot sauce, and no forks! We called to complain and was told to supply unless asked for! WTF! No way to run a business! read more

Recently ordered a 15 piece of Buffalo Wings and Corn Nuggets. If you've had Chicken Delights Buffalo wings in the past, then you'd know they were great! Unfortunately, they've changed their provider of Buffalo Wings. The wings I received were completely different than what I've had for the past 15 years. These wings were beyond gross. Extremely tiny with much of the meat being inedible. I will go back to the North Bergen location as they use the Buffalo wings of the past. read more

Food is really good and they don't take to long on delivery and there prices are good for a family night you don't feel like cooking

we had some good old Chicken Delight delivered to us here at work today. Right now, I feel like a walking coronary waiting to happen, especially from all the grease. I ordered a Chicken Snack, which consists of a breast and a wing, along with a dinner roll and a huge portion of french fries. Now tell me I won't drop dead within the next few hours due to all the cholesterol building up in my system. Whatever, i just know it tasted pretty good. Sometimes, you just need some junk in your system. I better eat salads for the rest of the week, to offset the crap that I ate today. read more

As a fat kid living in the Jersey City Montgomery Street Projects, this spot was the best spot to hit up for some deeeeeelish deep fried cheese-filled fried chikawn. Okay, I didn't live in the projects but in grade school I did order buckets of better-than-KFC, golden-brown, juicy-on-the-inside-crunchy-on-the-outside fried chicken from Chicken Delight, weekly. There was cheese in the chicken...WTF, heaven! A fat kid and his bucket of fried chicken. Life was much simpler back then. read more

Teetering between 3.5 and 4 stars, so I rounded up. A few more visits will help me firm up the rating. Had the $5 lunch special last week (takeout): 2 pieces of chicken (white or dark meat), fries, biscuit, and a soda. A pretty damn good deal. The chicken was still piping hot when I took it home, doused those bad boys with hot sauce, and went to town. It was a tasty and satisfying meal, and I wasn't even drunk. Yes - I'd do it again. read more

My husband and I first had chicken at this place a few months ago. A bit greasy, but more or less what anybody would expect. My complaint is with the service. I don't eat Halal or Kosher meat for ethical reasons. My husband doesn't eat it for ethical as well as religious reasons. Whenever we go out to eat, we almost always stick to vegetarian options. In our case, going to Chicken Delight was a BIG mistake. When we first entered the eatery, after some confusion, we asked to speak with the manager who assured us that the meat wasn't Halal. We asked about his supplier and he assured us it was cruelty-free--or as cruelty free as any meat can be. On a hunch, I went into Chicken Delight again today, but without my husband. His religious attire and appearance is a clear give away that he does not eat Halal meat. I look like pretty much any Caucasian, American woman, though. When I went in today, I asked if they serve Halal meat. The woman I talked to told me right away, with confidence, that--yes--of course it's Halal meat. I'm seriously bothered by the fact that they LIED to us about the kind of meat they serve. It's completely UNETHICAL and INEXCUSABLE. read more

The chicken was tender and juicy for the most part. Flavoring was also on point. The macaroni salad was good as well, but the only thing bad was the mashed potato and gravy. The mashed potatoes just weren't made well and the texture was also very dry. We did order delivery, and it came pretty quickly. I honestly think their chicken is better than most Popeyes or KFCs. read more

cole slaw too sweet. mashed potatoes gravy no salt. the fry on everything is dope. corn nuggets fave.

No! A bad Chicken Delight?! What?! Don't get the chicken here, my goodness, whatever you do, don't get the chicken here. Unless you enjoy that ghetto-fried-chicken-kind-of-chicken. You know, oversalted, reddish hue and tough skin that's not quite crispy? If you like that, go for it. I was disappointed though. Their corn nuggets were amazing though! Crispy and perfect. The worker was also nice. I just take my chicken seriously and it was pretty unpalatable for me. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars because the food is decent. You can tell the oil is old. They only only accept cash unless you spend $15 which is always convenient when ordering for one person. I really do love the corn nuggets though, haven't found anywhere that sells them in years. read more

Today is the first time I ordered from Chicken Delight. I ordered the fish and chips dinner. I asked what kind of fish it was and they told me it was whiting. When I got the fish, it was the frozen fish that comes from a box. As in whatever scraps they find, press together and call it fish. I really can't believe they are selling that mess and calling it whiting at that. This place gets a thumbs down and major side eye from me. read more

Chicken Delight - That does NOT look like real fish to me - Chicken Wings Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

The first time I got takeout from Chicken Delight it was revelatory. We got ribs and chicken and corn nuggets and everything was SO good. The chicken and ribs were moist and juicy and super flavorful! The two subsequent times were pretty good, but not as amazing as the first time since the ribs were drier than the first time. All in all though, this place has pretty awesome chicken and ribs. Get the corn nuggets too, they're so yummy! The people there are really nice too. :) read more
