So so grateful for this burgerhaven!…read more Our answer to late night dinner. As we have been busy working on our house the last 5 months trying to get it ready in time for xmas, we dont leave the worksite till late. Most places are shut by 9pm and we are usually left scouring the streets (or yelp) for alternatives to hungry jacks or macDs. So when I was craving for a burger last night, he suggested coming here even though we knew chances were slim theyd still be open. I couldnt happier to see that lights were still on and some burger flippin''! didnt think id managed much of the giant burger but the first bite got me wanting more.

I love a good burger, and Burger Foundry definitely lived up to my expectations. There is a very friendly and neighbourly vibe about BF. I said to my sister that it felt like we were in a trendy burger joint in USA. There was a great mix of young people, families and older people - which is great to see. The staff are super friendly and ready to offer menu suggestions and assistance. My burger was great, the chips was nice and the tater tots were amazing! We also ordered peanut butter milkshakes which were nice, but as a peanut butter lover I thought they should have been more peanutty. Overall, I'm a fan of BF and will definitely visit again.

It's a 5 star review! I may have found burger nirvana…read more 1. Range - plenty to choose from. We had the vegetarian, a mushroom with blue cheese dressing (oh yeah), and a bacon and cheese. 2. Size - bigger than a slider but smaller than a big old burger = just right. There are also slider size burgers for kids. 3. Chips - look like hand cut and seem to be infused with a herb - maybe rosemary? Crispy and delicious. 4 sauces to choose with the chips. We bought herbed mayo. Had a dill avoider so probably not the best choice. Others BBQ, chili mayo, tomato. 4. Price - Burgers around $10, chips (s, m, l) around $5, drinks $5ish = $54 meal for 3. 5. It's licensed! A limited but adequate selection of beers (James Squire, Heineken), ciders and piccolo wines. Ring ahead for takeaway. We waited about 20mins for eat in, but the crowd is laid back, the staff friendly and I think it's going to be a winner.

The burgers were fantastic and they let us build our own. Importantly they use whole wheat buns but I still found some of the bun tops too high (you dont want 80 percent bread!) but luckily most of them were soft enough to flatten. Great filling choices such as egg plant, peppers, Swiss cheese, goats curd etc. and good relish! Fantastic tasty grilled beef and grilled chicken breast so we were all impressed!

A new cafe in an old corner grocery store has breathed life back into a sad little shop…read more We went there for a Friday morning coffee (opens at 830) and 3 hours later we were still there after our 2nd cups/pots of tea that pour seemingly endless cups (ok..maybe 3). It's advertised as a cooking school, cafe and "stuff" venue, and is starting slowly with openings just Mon - Friday until 4pm, but they have events coming up, and have various cooking opportunites, including classes for kids - so keep up to date on https://www.facebook.com/FiveLittleFigs. The breakfasts that were served looked generous and delicious, and they have gluten, wheat and vegan food on offer and it looks fresh and sumptuous...next time! They cater to children, so if you're worried about young people playing (and crying) - don't come! I see this as a refuge for parents who want to meet their friends while their kids can draw on the chalk board or have something to eat at their own table. Support a new local, or pop out of your way for a quirky, delicious cafe.

We asked for a menu and sat down and noticed the menu was pretty much a standard breakfast menu minus the healthier or more foodie special options befitting a gourmet cooking school. So I went up to order and after we ordered I noticed there was a specials board (which you wouldn't necessarily expect to see for breakfast) which was hidden from view from the dining area. Luckily it had one green Juice and two healthier more interesting breakfast options so we changed our order. It's surprising they didn't direct us to the menu board when we were given the menu. The green juice was excellent, and so was the mushrooms on toast. The creamed oats were not too creamy, just right. The coffee was terrible, the worst I have seen for a while. A 'flat white' is normally not literally white! The 'crema' on the top was white with not a tinge of brown and it tasted over milky as well.

Our first time we went…read moreclose to closing time and didn't have the best experience, so thought we'd give them another go Again before another movie, we ordered a burger and a royale fries ($6.40) to share. I got the mushroom burger with a fat juicy panko-crumbed portabello advertised ($8.70). When it arrived I was surprised as to how small the burger was. It was delicious but I was left wanting more! My partner I think ordered the cheeseburger ($8.70) and again it was a small serving. considering the price we paid we were expecting a lot more size-wise Our Royale fries were messed up, we were given a basket of chilli cheese fries, then the Royal Fries came out - we only paid for one basket and I was afraid someone missed out. The cheese tasted super processed, floury and we couldnt eat them, they were not pleasurable at all. Note that the cheese makes the fries soggy and you have to eat them with a fork. Less cheese would be more, perhaps? I heard the new store on Glen Osmond road is a lot better, but a little out of our way to try. Make the burgers bigger and we'd be happier!

Best of all, they realize you can't eat a proper burger without getting a little messy, so provide a large sink station at the far end of the bar, allowing you to clean yourself up before moving on. Highly recommended.

Much as it pains me to say, I really really enjoyed this burger experience…read more Why would it 'pain me' I hear you ask. Well I must admit kind of wanted to hate Grill'd. I wanted the service to be flawed and the burger to be rubbish because this franchised store is muscling in on the home turf of some fantastic, locally owned burger joints, all with brilliant back stories and great local connections (that being said, I am very aware that Grill'd do some great local initiatives at each store for local community groups). Grill'd is a Victorian franchise and we all know that there's a bit of an established rivalry there so I had plenty of reason to be apprehensive. So here's the tale of my first (and yes, certainly not my last) Grill'd visit; Even a week after their grand opening there was a line-up out the door - either people are keen to try something hot and new or these burgers are genuinely good (probably a little from column a and a little from column b). The line moved super quickly and soon we were at the front - ordering a Mustard and Pickled! beef burger and a Goats Cheese and Hummus lamb burger - there was a choice of bread - we chose the healthier looking wholemeal one and then topped it off with some 'famous Grill'd Chips' (a claim I though a bit bold considering I'd previously never heard of their fame....) Finding a table in the crowd was a little struggle but we grabbed one and not long after, despite the large number of orders, our food arrived. At first it looked a little too healthy - I get that it's a healthy burger joint, but when it comes to burgers there is a fine line...any how, the first bite took away any doubt I had in my mind. The mustard and pickle burger was divine - great flavours and delicious at every bite. The lamb burger was fantastic as well (please note I didn't eat ALL of both - I shared...) and to top it off, the seasoning on the chips has left me wanting more (the chips themselves weren't anything to write home about, but the seasoning blew my mind). After my meal I also felt great - not heavy and weighed down like I feel after eating some other burgers! There are many other options on the menu that I'm itching to try so with a heavy and a guilty conscious I will be returning to Grill'd in the very near future.

Great staff (very well staffed, unlike the other boutiques who are often understaffed), great set…read moreup, great menu, quick service, very spacious. Cute kids burger deal in box but it wasn't a mini it was a big one cut in half! Steak sandwich would have been good had it have been on a toasted thin lepinja or whatever but it was on a giant bun. The "healthy" zucchini chips were battered and then fried. The sweet potato chips weren't battered but they were reheated so we're soggy yet still greasy and salty. You can't buy a side salad unless you buy a complete chicken salad meal (All salads have chicken, no other option). If you just want a burger and a beer then this place is fine off peak when it's not packed but it's not healthy or fresh. It just has great imagery but so does everywhere now. The staff are real nice and friendly much better than the other new boutique chains whose staff still have that less interested slap up burger joint feel. This chain is the 'Virgin' (as in Richard Branson) of the burger chains. The Norwood store has a great location. Bare in mind in terms of quick eatery options around now compared to say Argo across the road, I gave it 3 stars but compared to other similar burger joints its 4 stars (4.5 due to great staff, location and Reggae singers!)

But after a few minutes of good service and chilled out vibe I was able to relax. The place to be on The Parade is thanks to that A-Team the Trims family, who are also responsible for the equally buzzy Sparrow and The Manse. All the carry on and hoo haa about this place I reckon is well deserved, coming here is a unique experience and there's nowhere else around quite like it. You get a little drinks card to hang onto so you can order ten dollar glasses of wine and pricey food without having to actually think about how much you're paying. Last time I came here we had fries, which come out on a wooden block with an accompanying bowl of 'aerated ketchup,' which was absolutely delicious. They appear to be fans of aeration, there are also donuts with aerated chocolate sauce, and scallops with aerated almond cream. We all know how Adelaide folk like to get all worked up over new things, and I reckon this place is worth the hype.
