Their take away pizzas are actually some of the best I've tasted in the city centre and come at about half the price of your big chain options. Only fresh dough and fresh ingredients are used. €10 will get you a 12" and a can which is a very good deal. They also do lunch time deals which are very affordable, ranging from a pasta and can, chicken wings/chips and a can, 9" pizza and can...all for €5 which is always welcomed when it's getting to the end of that long month. I'd imagine the deals are also a bit hit with students too. I recently availed of their groupon voucher which consisted of 9" pizza, 3 chicken wings and chips for only €6. I ate like a king for a week! The staff are very friendly and always seem to be accommodating. Such an example is when I asked for cheese on my chips - which I offered to pay extra for - they mounted my chips with an almighty handful of grated cheddar and never charged me for extra. Cheers guys! Look, you're not going to get anything mind blowing from Fogo's but what you will get is cheap and easy food done very well and most definitely worth the price you pay. Seating is also available here.

It was a Saturday morning when uncle Phil arrived at my door, 6am as agreed, the gentlemen are back in Ireland so we thought we'd celebrate with a full day drug fueled pig out. It is believed that 'Temple Bar' street's name originated from 'Sir William Temple' from the 'Temple family (you can see the same on the outer wall of the pub) The most iconic pub in Dublin, the Temple Bar Pub, sits proudly on the corner of Temple Bar and Temple Lane South. With live music from 10:30 am every day, this is a pub with a party atmosphere all day long. I was amused at how many people popped in, snapped off a quick photo or a 30-second video, and then left without stopping for a drink. Then again, at €8 a pint, and it's one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that's fine. Doesn't matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here. Yes, it's expensive (just 3-4 euros more, come on), but the vibe, that's totally worth it. I truly believe, though, that if you're going to experience Dublin, then you can't leave without experiencing Temple Bar. I had like 4-5 drinks at different pubs, and though it's touristy and "trap"- I would come here again and again. No other place has a "temple bar pub ' vibe. There is always live music, the stage is rarely empty, and the diary is always full. The Temple Bar Pub is famed throughout Dublin for its lively, traditional Irish music scene. PS: don't get confused with Temple Bar at the end of every pub. Its neighborhood name (Temple bar neighborhood), and this pub is Temple Bar pub.

I went during my first trip to Dublin and not again until my boyfriend and I went to Dublin together. As it was his first visit, we had to go. The bar is always packed unless you arrive as soon as they open. It's not longer after opening time that it becomes a mad house well into the night. They've always got live music and proper Guinness pours (more $$ than elsewhere). So yeah, it's a tourist trap but it's also fun if you know what you're getting into and what to expect.

We visited twice, and the first time was on a Wednesday night. They were able to accommodate us mid-week without a reservation, but Friday night we made one to come back. There were gobs of people waiting to get in so we're glad we did! The entrance is very non-descript. It's an ugly grey metal door with VCC randomly applied, so if you didn't know what was there it would look industrial. There is a door bell to the left of the door. Ring it a few times and someone will open the door and check you in. With reservations they do make you wait until exactly that time so don't be alarmed. Your table is already selected for you. The inside is loungy and very swanky. Both times we had extremely comfortable chairs. Service is immaculate. Their menu is massive, very well published and explained. Our servers were both able to explain exactly what the cocktail may taste like as some of the combos might blow your mind. I had the Dirty Wizard which sounds odd on based on ingredients but was delicious. I also had the Purple Pearl which was my perfect cocktail. My husband tried a few different whiskey concoctions and he was impressed by all of them. I highly recommend adding VCC to your Dublin itinerary!

No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

As we do when traveling, we start and end the day eating throughout the day. We popped into Bunsen to finally try the legendary burger around 4:30 pm. Because we were there at such an odd hour, we were the only people there. When you visit Ireland, the pub culture is real and most pubs start to get quite busy around 5:30 pm. Since Bunsen isn't a pub and wasn't located in a particularly touristy area , it didn't surprise me they were empty at that time of day. What stuck out the most at first was the super friendly service right from the door. We were sat at a small banquet of tables against the wall and checked out the menu from QR code link on the table. We were there for their original burger so that is what we ordered. No sides and water to drink. I couldn't be filling up too much yet. It was pretty early after all and we had a lot of places to stop yet. The menu isn't huge. They focus on doing one thing well and keep it at that. I like a restaurant that doesn't try to be everything. Our burger came out within 10 min and it was juicy, hot and fresh. Presented beautifully wrapped. We shared this one burger because, we knew we had lots of food to eat later. Immediately after eating the last bite I wanted to order another. It was really that good. Such perfection!
