I have always been happy with this Chick-fil-a, but lately things seem to be falling apart. Today, I waited in line, and when I got to the counter I ordered two cups of chicken noodle soup. The cashier wasn't sure if they would be able to serve it. It was 10:40 am. She asked the manager. He said yes, no problem. I put in the rest of my order, and then was told nevermind they were out of soup. This is the second time this has happened to me, and the second time I left and went somewhere else. The first time I waited in line. Four people were in front of me, and when I got to the counter and tried to order the chicken soup. The cashier told me he couldn't push the soup button. It was after 10:30 am. He asked me what else I would like. I explained I would have to get out of line to ask my elderly dad who was sitting down. The order was canceled. I wasn't going to get back in line because there was now 5 people in line. Lately, also there is always at least 10 people standing in the lobby waiting for orders. Got the kids five count nugget meal with fries and a 1/2 sweet, 1/2 unsweet tea. The fries could've used a bit more salt, but I understand they can't be in there tasting the product all day. Nuggets were pretty fresh. As y'all know from my bio, I am a fanatic of Chick-Fil-A. I ate here nearly every day in college... so I know what's good. And it's my pleasure to report that the Irondale location meets my standards. Only one sauce pack with the kids meal. Fine, I guess. Service here is ok, not exemplary. The inside is clean. I never thought I'd say this. My love for Chick-Fil-A just isn't there anymore. I'm not exactly sure what has happened and why it has happened. I could be that my order is always wrong now. It could be the service isn't as courteous or consistent as in times past. It could be that the food is a little off now (my nuggets are sometimes undercooked on the inside and fatty). It can be all of this. I pay the extra cost because of their customer service that I have grown accustomed to receiving. Now that I don't receive it, I don't feel the need to patronize the restaurant. While service is still a step above some of the other local eateries, when I venture to those places...I get what I pay for-mediocrity. I expect to hear the workers talking about each other. I expect my bread to be hard or my order to be wrong. When I go to Chick-Fil-A, I'm paying for better treatment but I'm not receiving it. Maybe this is just the sign of the times we live in now. I'm becoming less and less impressed with CFA. They "my pleasure " you to death to cover up all the annoying things that tend to occur during a simple visit. This visit was exhausting!! The staff completely made me never want to eat CFA again ... even if it's free. We had a free treat from a previous bad experience. I also ordered 3 piece chicken tenders. (Dine in). Was told there was a 7-11 min wait on the tenders. Cool no problem. It would make sense to go ahead and give us the ice cream as it was sitting on the counter. Yes, melting away. I personally attribute this to the fact that there were just way tooooo many people in the kitchen and no one is aware of what's actually happening. There was a huge disconnect from the front counter to the kitchen. The staff here actually were weird and got on my nerves. I reported this to corporate as I sat here eating my food. CFA is turning into a big fat NO for me!!! The obvious dirty floors didn't help the situation. read more

I love the breakfast at CFA! I love to stop here when I have a little extra time in the morning. It makes my day better. Breakfast has never been my favorite meal of the day I usually skip it because I'm just not hungry, I also am not generally a fan of breakfast foods. I don't really like the sausage, egg, and cheese combo. It wasn't until high school that I even realized CFA had such wonderful breakfast options that's when I started going regularly. The food here is good. The service is fast and usually the line is long but not today. We were out early and the wife wanted a light breakfast so we decided to go here. I got my usual chicken biscuit and she got chicken minis. Both were good. Only suggestion we noticed that concerns us is there is no menu listing in the drive thru before the manual servers great you. The App makes you click thru too many selections to just see the menu also. A hard copy of the menu before or at the tent area would be nice. The electronic menu is there but is after the order is made. Again, the order process is nice but a menu to order from would make it nicer too. read more

We have come over to this location several times. This location has a smaller parking lot footprint and leads to some awkwardness, but the employees do a fairly good job at getting the drive-through processed quickly and efficiently. They are also always nice, despite them being almost always busy. The food itself is always good, and we've never had any issues, and they frequently 'reward' people for stopping in and using the Chick-fil-A app by giving more food, encouraging more trips back. Sometimes we take advantage, sometimes not, but it is nice to have the option. I'm sure we'll come back soon. read more

It takes 20 to 25 minutes to get a biscuit and a glass of tea in the morning. Slowest restaurant by far to ever serve tea and a biscuit. If you can be late to work or have extra time the food is good here and the price is okay. read more

This Chick-fil-A truly has the worst service any I have ever been to. Dozens of people standing around behind the counter while three dozen cars wait. And wait. And wait. I'm not sure how many people are in the back cooking, but you need to redistribute your labor. Then you built a drive-through where cars are completely locked in so if there is an emergency situation, you're left with a very bangers, very big problem on your hands. Highly suggest ownership get involved in the operations of this restaurant. Very very disappointing experience over and over again -- get it together. read more

I am not one to write reviews and this is probably the second one I have ever written. Unfortunately, I do need to write one about this location. It is the only Chick-fil-A close to my house so I have to use this location, but 7 to 8 times out of 10 my order is incorrect. Also, it is not unusual for my order to take 20 minutes to get ready and I'm not ordering anything special. Do not go to the Montclair location! I usually do not go on line to write a review but this location has been a complete disappointment one more time. Just because of the convenience of the location and after a long day I went there to get some Fast food for my son to go. I arrived home and one more time I realized than there were things missing from my order. The staff who took our order ( named Desmond for transaction 9101 on 11/13) did not even process the correct order as he was in a hurry to play with another colleague after taking my card. Once we arrived home and realized, we were too tired to go back. It's not the first time that this happens. The previous times I was able to catch it before leaving the place but this time I was too tired to check. The renovation at the CFA, work very nicely, the parking area increased due to relocating the new double drive thru. The inside appears to be larger, and the mew colors are nice to the eye, the line moves quickly and the staff are fast, efficient and friendly. The food is coming out hotter and fresher than before, which is much better. Before the reno, the food was a bit warm, though not hot, which was a bummer when you get cold fries and a cold samich. Can't believe this place has less than 5 stars! This is by far the best most efficient ( COVID-19) restaraubt when using the app! It's SO easy recommend you try " curbside" not drive they on pickup! You'll fly thru and pick up hot foods! The new Mac and cheese is the best in Town imo! I love to order nugget biscuits in am , then my sandwich ( classic old school ) I've never ever had a bad meal or experience here! It's within 2 miles if my home so I've been hundreds of times! I love CFA, but this one goes above and beyond for me. I stopped by the restroom on my way out and saw a table with a sign right outside of the bathroom with a small basket of diapers and wipes for the use of their patrons with kiddos. There was a sign in the table that read "Dear CFA parents, we have a baby supply basket in between the restrooms with the following items: diapers, wipes, rash cream, body suits, bandaids, and neosporin." Amazing! Simply amazing. I have never been to ANY other business and found a supply basket for parents to help with their kids. Thank you CFA for continuing to set the bar. read more

I've always said the food at this location beats some others. The new remodel looks great. I've been by a few times since they opened again 6 weeks ago. I expected wait times to be a little slower due to onboarding new employees, etc. But those wait times don't seem to be improving. I love chick fil a and whenever I'm in a city i have to make sure i take a visit to the nearest chick fil a. This Chick-fil-A is no different than the other chick fil a's I've been to, the drive thru line was extremely long BUT there was a team member outside taking orders making the process so much smoother. I've been to a lot of Chick-fil-A's all across the South and most of the ones in Birmingham. This location was not the typical (pleasant) Chick-fil-A experience. It's almost a meme at how good Chick-fil-A, as a whole, is at serving their food. However, I would rate this location to be subpar compared to others which is likely due to a multitude of circumstances out of their (Chick-fil-A) control such as high traffic, location, and surrounding homeless population. All of these are to be expected and come with the territory therefore are easily forgivable. But it's the circumstances they can control that hinder this location. Inside the store the play area is now a hangout location for employees and a charging station for the store tablets which is rather unsightly. The famous waffle fries were soggy and multiple people had to double back for forgotten sauces. There was one member of management that was very friendly to a group of young (18-20ish) patrons that were dropping the "F word" casually in store. I say the F word every day, multiple times, and with differing inflection but in line at the Chick-fil-A, nah. read more

This location is decent. The staff is always friendly, but don't expect the fastest service in the world. Depending on how hungry you are, it may be worth the wait lol. I do frequent this location since it's so close to home and I really don't have any specific complaints. It is still better than the 5 points south location. CFA never really gets old! read more

This is a great Chick fil a location and a great fast food option in this part of town. The drive thru stays pretty busy but moves fairly quickly as is true for every cfa location I know of. As usual for CFA, the employees are really friendly, the inside is super clean, and the food is delicious. For lunch I get that classic chicken sandwich, cut it in half and use one Polynesian sauce per half. It seems to be the perfect ratio to me. Waffle fries are a must for me and I do a combo of honey mustard and ketchup for mr dipping sauce. Now to change it up, I sometimes get a spicy chick sandwich and use ranch as my dipping sauce. Indulge yourself and get that lemonade! Sometimes I get the Arnold Palmer mix of lemonade and unsweet tea. Sweet on sweet is too sweet for me. My favorite meal at CFA is the breakfast. Yum! Hash browns, chicken biscuit, spicy chicken biscuit...all good but the real deal is that 4 count minis! Love it! Chick fil a sauce or smoked honey mustard are great sauces for those little darlings. There has been a lot of talk about the coffee lately but I have found the coffee to be terrible. Tried it a few times and the last time the it out and went across the street to a coffee house. CFA is always clean, fast, delicious, and the employees are the best in the fast food business. I have literally never seen a drive thru line move faster than it does at CFA. read more

I won't be back to this location! Drive through order for myself and 2 coworkers on one ticket. Finally get to the window after the 2:30 lunch rush. Sir we are making that Grilled Chicken fresh can you pull around to the front and we will bring it out she says. 20 Minutes later I finally walk into the store. Oh sorry for the wait sir but here is your order. My coworkers fried sandwiches were cold my fresh grilled chicken was raw ( in the trash) and none of my requested condiments made it in my bag. This location has always had prompt service and has always gotten my order correct. I have been to this location 2 times since they renovated and both times I have not received what I ordered. The first time I waited in the drive through for 30 minutes before getting to the window for my mobile order. One of my combos was missing for the order and seeing as I was in the drive through I didn't go through the bag to check my items for not wanting to hold up the line. I also wasn't not able to get a refund for my missing through the app. Then today I went back through the drive through and ordered 2 8 piece nugget meals. Before I start, I want to say that I hate entitlement from customers in the service industry. I've worked many years in food and I know how hard it is. I know how much it sucks, so this is NOT a review of (most) of the workers. This is clearly an issue with the owner or management attempting to cut cost. Consistently the worst Chick-fil-A I've ever been to. The sandwiches here are half the size of all the others. They never fill the fries, and one of the employees (emphasis on one, the rest of them are absolutely wonderful) is straight up cold towards you. This is the closest Chick-Fil-A to me by about 20 minutes. I've been dealing with this for about a year now but tonight was enough to make me finally say something about it. The owners are clearly trying to cut costs at a restaurant that borders the wealthiest part of Alabama. I've been on this app for years and this made me want to write my first review. I am in the drive through for breakfast before work. I have given this location several attempts to provide the Chick-fil-A level quality. It has failed me every time! EVERY. Because it's the closest to where I live, I try to give it a chance. Last time I came for lunch, although it wasn't crowded, all the open booths were dirty where they hadn't been wiped down or cleaned from previous guest. So we cleaned our own booth in order to sit. Two salads took over 10 minutes. At CFA? That's unheard of. So this am. I am sitting here, writing this review. I have been in the drive through now for about 10 minutes. Have barely moved 3 car spaces and there is about 10 cars in front of me. Now that they take the order before you get to the window, I have paid but am unable to get out of line. So now what was a quick trip in has turned into a terrible inconvenience. Update: after the long wait.... my order is WRONG! I asked for sausage, egg and cheese. I received a chicken biscuit!!! Look I really didn't want to leave this review but it's been years of giving them the benefit of doubt but I can't anymore. Their fries at this location taste like cardboard every single time. I don't know if they don't change the grease or what...but my fries can be fresh piping hot and still taste like cardboard. I don't experience this at any other location but this one. I have even gotten chips instead of fries here so I'm not disappointed. Yes the chicken sandwich is the staple but we all know why people come back those waffle fries and this location continues to disappoint.
