A Wonderful Experience at J. Alexander's After Leaving Bonefish Grill…read more After leaving Bonefish Grill, I considered stopping at Red Lobster, but there was only one car in the parking lot. Across the street, I noticed J. Alexander's, where about 15 people were walking out smiling, and the parking lot was still fairly full for 8:45 PM. That was enough to convince me to give it a try. I walked in and was greeted immediately by the host, seated right away in a booth, and within 30 seconds, my waiter came over to ask what I would like to drink. The service was attentive and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I ordered the crab cake, which was what I had originally planned to get at Bonefish Grill, and I have to say it was one of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten. It came with a choice of coleslaw and fries, or I could substitute an amazing tomato salad. The tomato salad was simple, elegant, and delicious. I placed my order at 8:51 PM, and by 9:15 PM, my food arrived fresh, hot, and unbelievably delicious. If you're thinking about dinner, avoid Bonefish Grill and Red Lobster and make your way to J. Alexander's instead. You won't regret it. Everyone was friendly, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. After the disappointing experience I had at Bonefish Grill, J. Alexander's was exactly what I was hoping for: great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. When you come please ask Derry he is amazing!!!

The crowd and waitlist speak for themselves. We called for Father's Day reservations right when they opened and actually had several time slots to choose from. The atmosphere is nice--dim lighting and an open kitchen. The staff helps each other out, so our glasses never ran dry and we didn't have to ask for anything. I got the Steak Maui--a marinated ribeye with pineapple teriyaki--and it came with mashed potatoes that were really good too. My daughter and I shared the house salad with their vinaigrette dressing, which we both liked. My husband and daughter both ordered the New York Strip and were happy with their meals as well.

This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at a CAVA…read more From the moment my family walked in, we were never greeted. Instead, the staff acted as though we were inconveniencing them by simply being there. Customer service was practically nonexistent. The person working the register who appeared to be a manager was especially rude. Rather than handing us our food, they literally slid our order across the counter with no courtesy or professionalism. The atmosphere was just as disappointing. The dining area was filthy. Nearly every table was covered in stains and looked like it hadn't been wiped down since lunchtime. It made the entire restaurant feel unsanitary and uninviting. As for the food, it was what I'd normally expect from CAVA, so no major complaints there. However, the fountain drinks were so watered down that I couldn't distinguish one flavor from another. I'm visiting Nashville on vacation, and this location left a terrible impression. I would absolutely not recommend this CAVA to anyone, and I will never return to this location. There are far too many great places to eat in the area to waste your time and money here.

Red Curry with Shrimp was also really good! Pad See Ewe with Beef was well seasoned! Dishes are a good portion to share! They have a full bar and enjoyed their Lychee Martini which was refreshing and not too sweet! I did have a gripe on our visit! We asked for the spice rack (4 condiment tray) and they brought it. Mid way they picked it up and we were in the middle of our meal. They said another table needed it (there were like 3 floating around). Come on, get more spice racks then - don't take it when it's being used. Service is usually good but this night I would give it a 2.5. None of the wait staff were the people we have had in the past. Otherwise a good meal.

At 7:37 pm we hadn't received our order so we called the restaurant and were routed to a call center in Florida. They could not tell us if the order was still being prepared or growing cold waiting on a driver, and didn't seem to care one way or the other. After 10 minutes on the phone we were told the estimated delivery was now 8:22 pm. Had we gotten an accurate estimate to start with, we would have canceled the order. When the food did arrive, it was cold and mediocre at best. I feel like Guy's Flavortown is trading on his reputation to make a quick buck during the pandemic. Find a surface lot in front of the restaurant or the lot behind the building. Both are a short walk. There are 10 minute spots if you are grabbing a to go order. The dining room offers plenty of seating with lots of natural light. There are booths for four and cozy booths for two. Getting lunch to go is so easy with Chopt. Orders can be placed on the app and grabbed from the cubbies to the left of the registers. My food has always been ready by the promised time. An employee is always behind the cubbies in case you need to talk to someone. On my last visit an employee noticed I'd have trouble grabbing my order with my toddler on my hip. She grabbed my order and brought it right around. Ordering in line feels like yelling the same thing over and over again. I wonder if marking off options on a sheet of paper would be better for everyone. It's not too bad if you're getting one item, but it's a lot if you have multiple items. The prices are reasonable for a healthier option. I find the bowls to be plenty of food. I like that bowls usually have a couple of protein sources. The bowls for kids are also a generous portion for just under $8. The food is delicious. Everything looks and tastes fresh. There are enough topping options and dressings to mix it up. The seasonal offerings have always been tasty. The Harvest Bowl is my favorite bowl. You choose your rice base and it has sweet potatoes, kale, apples, goat cheese, almonds, and dried cranberries. The white balsamic dressing is great with the other flavors. I enjoy the small piece of bread on the side. Chopt is on my list of favorites for a quick, healthy lunch.
